About: I’ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded not just by animals. Because of that, I’m comfortable with all personalities, temperaments, and care needs. About: I was 12 when I got my first dog, a cocker spaniel named Megara. My parents quickly put me in charge of her, and caring for her taught me to put another's needs before my own. She gave me lifelong lessons about the love and loyalty between a pet and their owner. Today I have an Old English Sheepdog named Delphi. Other owners at the dog park often comment on how sweet she is, and she has grown into a great older sister to our family dog, Luna (who lives with my family). Between the two of them, I am comfortable with large breeds and with the extra patience senior dogs need. I have also dog sat regularly for friends, so I am used to stepping into someone else's routine and keeping their dog on it. I am very outdoorsy on top of that, so your dog will get real walks, not a quick trip around the block. As a PhD student, I work from home most of the day. My time on campus is limited to a few classes, my TA hours, and a student association meeting every other week, so I am home and available far more than someone on a standard nine to five. That flexibility is a big part of why I got Delphi at the start of my PhD. She has always had someone around to take her out during the day, and I can offer your dog the same. Before any payments or booking, I would like to set up a meet and greet so I can see how your dog responds to me. It tells me a lot, whether they warm up right away or need space, and it means the first day is not the first time we have met. This doesn't have to be long but it is a nice first impression to the dog. In my home, your dog will not be alone. Delphi is here as company, and I introduce new dogs to her slowly and on neutral ground so the first meeting goes well for both of them (like a local dog park). I live in a quiet, secure apartment community with an on-site dog park and an open field next door, plus several trails within walking distance, so your dog gets real exercise rather than being cooped up all day. Delphi is not crate trained and has free run of the apartment, but I am happy to crate your dog if that is part of their routine. Just bring the crate and let me know the schedule you use. In your home, I stick to your dog's routine rather than imposing my own. I follow your feeding times, walk schedule, and house rules, keep dogs leashed anywhere that is not fenced, and send photo updates so you know how the day went. If anything seems off with your dog, I contact you right away, and I am prepared to drive them to a vet if it cannot wait.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since sophomore year of high school and I feel pretty comfortable with any dog of any size! About: Around two years ago, my friend and I were coaching a Little Diggers Volleyball team in our local town when we saw some kittens in a storm drain. We didn’t see their mother, and we sat there for about two hours waiting for her when she didn’t show, we decided to rescue the kittens, and I brought 2 into my own home. About: The obvious reason, I LOVE DOGS and being around ALL animals . every dog has a unique personality which makes all of them special and all dogs have something different to offer pet lovers. I also love to be outdoors playing and walking them. I walk a lot any way, might as well have a furry companion. I can pretty much set my own schedule (within reason). I also don't have any obligations, other than my husband. I feel like this would feel a void in my life and help give to purpose. I like to use hand commands but verbal is fine also I have been a pet owner for quite sometimes, no current pets, some very high energy, some old and arthritic and on medication I perfer smaller dogs if they come to my house. The house is mostly empty, it’s just me and my husband. I have also sat for cats, turtles, lizards, goats horses and all types of pasture animals. Big or small, I do it all. I’m retired airline employee, so, I’m pretty flexible with my time and schedule. We currently don’t have any pets because we enjoy our travel time. If we’re not traveling you can always catch me on someone’s ranch helping out with their critters. I really prefer watching the animals at the clients home because that’s where they feel most comfortable. I don’t mind bringing the pets to my home, if they are on the smaller side. Of course, if it’s something on the bigger side, ie, like livestock, I would be at the client’s home.

I live in a quiet, secure apartment community with an on-site dog park and an open field next door, plus several trails within walking distance, so your dog gets real exercise rather than being cooped up all day. Delphi is not crate trained and has free run of the apartment, but I am happy to crate your dog if that is part of their routine. Just bring the crate and let me know the schedule you use. In your home, I stick to your dog's routine rather than imposing my own. I follow your feeding times, walk schedule, and house rules, keep dogs leashed anywhere that is not fenced, and send photo updates so you know how the day went. If anything seems off with your dog, I contact you right away, and I am prepared to drive them to a vet if it cannot wait.
