She kept us updated regularly and had no problem taking care of our very anxious boy. Gomi also isn’t usually the type to hang around other dogs so I was pleasantly surprised to see he was doing just fine with the other dogs boarded or in residence ! Contractors showed up unexpectedly during the week, and she thoughtfully asked if they’d be back so she could plan her visits around them; just to help minimize stress for Frida. That level of care and consideration meant so much. Her visit reports were incredibly thorough. She detailed every litter box scoop (including type), and when Frida got into human food in the pantry, she not only took photos but also made sure the food was secured so it wouldn’t happen again. At one point we thought our auto feeder had failed, and she troubleshot it until she confirmed it was working properly. Frida, who is usually shy, warmed up to her instantly and showered her with affection at every visit. It was clear she has a natural gift with cats; she truly is the cat lady of Lockhart. We had a family emergency that required short notice travel that coincided with Thanksgiving week, and we are brand new to Austin. Enter Norman. We picked him because he has been verified and had good reviews. He was very responsive, available for our pets on very short notice, answered all my questions and scheduled a phone call with us to go over pet specifics. Norman is very professional. He checked in every day, sent pictures of the cats, and followed all the instructions perfectly. We highly recommend him and will book him next time we are out of town.”
About: I’ve taken care of cats of every kind and at high quantities. I have a very thorough background in understanding cat behavior and adjusting my own to fit their needs. In general, I’ve found that my favorite thing about cats is their peaceful nature but I see something endearing in the wild ones as well. Overall, my confidence in taking care or any animal weather it’s fluffy, scaly or prickly is very high as I have been in the vet industry for nearly my entire adult life. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their routine and personality to ensure they feel safe and secure while their owner is away. I have worked alongside experienced trainers and with amazing groomers, but most of my career I spent working as a kennel manager at a boarding/daycare/vet facility. About: Currently a licensed veterinary technician. Can administer meds, which will help owners of older dogs feel more at ease, and notice signs of illness/distress easily. I own three friendly corgis. I love taking dogs on walks and playing with them out in the yard. Always available to house sit and keep pets at my house, It is very rare for me to say no. We have our lower yard fenced for dogs to run and play. I'm into cuddling with dogs on my couch, but if you don't allow your dogs on your furniture, I won't allow them on mine either. I am also comfortable and experienced in watching a variety of animals. I have watched horses, cows, sheep, goats, bunnies, reptiles, chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, hamsters, and hedgehogs. I can host most caged exotics in my home and a different rate that can be discussed at booking. I do prefer payment via cash, check, or venmo. Have a great day! About: I have lots of experience with different types of animals. We have three inside kitties that were rescued when they were still bottle feeding. Two years ago we lost our 19 year old Labrador to old age. And the year before that we lost our 16 year old chow chow to old age. I will feed, water, walk and clean up after the babies. She is currently earning her masters degree and I want to be able to help as much as possible. I am available most evenings after 6p. During the summer I am available all day Friday and Saturday. “I am so happy I boarded my Husky with Mariana! First of all, was really hard to find a sitter who was staying in Austin over Christmas week but Mariana was able to allowing me to go to Europe. Mariana has a big beautiful house with a massive back yard. This is where multiple dogs get plenty of time to use to play around with each other. As we know, play time is incredibly important to get all that energy out. She also sent lots of pictures and videos of my boy while I was gone. Mariana’s professionalism, confidence in the role and her space express her experience and commitment to making sure your dog is safe and happy! And when I picked up Brodie, they gave me a package of treats with a Christmas themed picture of Brodie in it! It was incredibly touching and sweet and displays a level of detail to her job.
