After leaving our pups with her and heading to Mexico, we learned that my big black and tan coonhound has a real separation anxiety issue, which our vet never mentioned. He was awful for her. Really awful. But she (and her family) treated him with love and kindness, even as he made life incredibly difficult for them. I won’t ever board Ulysses and someone else’s home, but I am grateful that I not only learned about his separation anxiety problem, but that he was in a place where he was cared for, even when it was hard to do so. I stay home which means your pets will not be unattended or kenneled throughout the day. I know it is important for pets to be comfortable, especially when staying with someone new to avoid anxious behaviors. Making sure that my boys get time to play and just relax around the house is very important to me and as such I will make sure that your pets get the same care. I have a fenced yard where your pet can play with my two boys if they so desire. They will be able to also play and relax in their own room while having the option to look out the window. Dogs can be kenneled if needed but won’t spend their day like that as I wouldn’t want my pets in a kennel for extended periods of time.

About: Hi I’m a student staying in College Station for the summer! I grew up with multiple dogs and a cat so I’m very comfortable with all types of pets. I have a lot of free time this summer and miss spending time with animals. I would love to help out with pets in the area! About: I have taken care of many cats included barn cats. I had a cat in college with my roommates that we picked up as a stray! Pet care is just part of my everyday life. I work Monday through Friday 8–5, but before work my dogs always get to run and play outside to start their day. After work, we go for a walk every evening and spend time playing, training, or just relaxing together. On weekends I have more flexibility, so we get extra time outdoors and lots of snuggles inside. I also keep up with the little things each week—like brushing, washing bowls, and freshening up bedding—so they stay happy and comfortable. I just moved to Darlington and my best friends mom told me her 1 cat won't come near me etc...1st day I was here her cat came up to me and let me pet her and she comes out of the room often to get petted. “Shyla is wonderful. I cannot stress how wonderful she (and her family) are. This was the first time we boarded our pups somewhere other than their vet’s office. After leaving our pups with her and heading to Mexico, we learned that my big black and tan coonhound has a real separation anxiety issue, which our vet never mentioned. He was awful for her. Really awful. But she (and her family) treated him with love and kindness, even as he made life incredibly difficult for them. I won’t ever board Ulysses and someone else’s home, but I am grateful that I not only learned about his separation anxiety problem, but that he was in a place where he was cared for, even when it was hard to do so. Shyla is a great communicator, sending updates and pics multiple times a day, and quick to answer any questions we had. I cannot recommend Shyla highly enough.”
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all kinds. I grew up in a home with multiple dogs—both small and large—so I’m very comfortable handling different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I previously worked at PetSmart as both a pet care associate and a dog trainer, where I gained valuable experience working with dogs of all temperaments, as well as cats and exotic pets. My training background allows me to better understand animal behavior, reinforce good habits, and handle pets with patience and confidence. Outside of work, I’m known for rescuing stray animals and even helping injured wildlife whenever I can—animals have always been a huge part of my life. I currently have two dogs, two cats, and a snake of my own, so I truly understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. Whether your pet needs structured care, playtime, walks, or just extra love and attention, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I’m reliable, attentive, and dedicated to making sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I work full-time Monday through Friday, but I’m available for drop-in visits in the mornings, during lunch, and after 4 PM. I also offer boarding in my home and can provide a safe, comfortable environment for your pet while you’re away. On weekends, I have full availability and can dedicate my time to caring for your pet, whether that’s drop-ins, walks, or boarding. I’m flexible and happy to work with your schedule to make sure your pet gets the care and attention they need! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time and two friendly, well-socialized dogs who love having company. When I’m away from home, I crate my dogs to ensure they stay safe and secure, and I’m happy to follow your preferences regarding crating or routines for your pet. About: I have taken care of many cats included barn cats. I had a cat in college with my roommates that we picked up as a stray! Pet care is just part of my everyday life. I work Monday through Friday 8–5, but before work my dogs always get to run and play outside to start their day. After work, we go for a walk every evening and spend time playing, training, or just relaxing together. On weekends I have more flexibility, so we get extra time outdoors and lots of snuggles inside. I also keep up with the little things each week—like brushing, washing bowls, and freshening up bedding—so they stay happy and comfortable. Caring for my pets is something I truly enjoy, and I’d love to give your pets the same love and routine that I give mine. I have two female dogs who love to run, play fetch, and play in the water. They do sleep in kennels at night. They are energetic and would love to play with your pup!
