About: To comfort any animal brings comfort to myself. I have experience with all kinds of pets and love all animals but cats are what you’d find in my home. It’s a common misconception that cats don’t require much attention but as a domesticated animal they thrive on human companionship while also having many natural instincts to accommodate. Some require more attention than others depending on their personality. One of the most important instincts to satisfy is the need to hunt/play. There are some automatic or interactive toys that work well but for the most part the best toy is something on the end of a string attached to a wand/rod and their human’s participation. This way you can mimic the evasive movements of an actual prey for your cat to hunt. This provides exercise and stimulation and I would be happy to play with your cat(s) I’m very good at befriending anxious or less trusting cats and identifying the things that exacerbate their anxiety and finding solutions to comfort them. I also have experience administering medications. With a cat the easiest route of administration is a liquid solution mixed in with some wet food or treat or squirted into the back side of the mouth with an oral syringe. Giving a cat a pill can be more difficult but it can be done. I would wrap them in a towel or blanket, lubricate pill so it doesn’t stick to fingers or tongue, tilt head back and insert pill into back of the mouth, return head to level position and rub their throat and/or slightly blow on the nose to stimulate swallowing reflexes, then give them a treat and love them! When possible I scoop our 3 cats’ boxes after every use. I’m happy to clean and scoop your cat’s box(es) with the same vigilance. A clean litter box is one factor in ensuring a healthy and happy cat!

“I know when my dogs stay with Amanda they will be cared for like family. She takes Dexter on hikes to the waterfalls and and long walks. He loves running around the yard with Yukon and Denali and plays all day.He’s pooped out by the end of the day and sleeps well. Dexter whines as we get closer to their home because he’s excited to visit. Charlie my older dog enjoys relaxing in the yard and taking snoozes. I highly recommend for your fur babies.”

About: I have experience with pets of all ages, including energetic puppies who need consistency, basic training reinforcement, and lots of playtime, as well as senior pets who may need a slower pace, medication, or extra care and comfort. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I love being outside and spending time with animals. I enjoy going on walks, playing outside, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise throughout the day. I follow the owner’s instructions closely for feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any specific care instructions. I also make sure pets feel safe and relaxed by giving them lots of love, supervision, and a calm environment. I enjoy being outside, so walks and outdoor play are something I really enjoy doing with dogs.
