About: To comfort any animal brings comfort to myself. I have experience with all kinds of pets and love all animals but cats are what you’d find in my home. It’s a common misconception that cats don’t require much attention but as a domesticated animal they thrive on human companionship while also having many natural instincts to accommodate. Some require more attention than others depending on their personality. One of the most important instincts to satisfy is the need to hunt/play. There are some automatic or interactive toys that work well but for the most part the best toy is something on the end of a string attached to a wand/rod and their human’s participation. This way you can mimic the evasive movements of an actual prey for your cat to hunt. This provides exercise and stimulation and I would be happy to play with your cat(s) I’m very good at befriending anxious or less trusting cats and identifying the things that exacerbate their anxiety and finding solutions to comfort them. I also have experience administering medications. With a cat the easiest route of administration is a liquid solution mixed in with some wet food or treat or squirted into the back side of the mouth with an oral syringe. Giving a cat a pill can be more difficult but it can be done. I would wrap them in a towel or blanket, lubricate pill so it doesn’t stick to fingers or tongue, tilt head back and insert pill into back of the mouth, return head to level position and rub their throat and/or slightly blow on the nose to stimulate swallowing reflexes, then give them a treat and love them! When possible I scoop our 3 cats’ boxes after every use. I’m happy to clean and scoop your cat’s box(es) with the same vigilance. A clean litter box is one factor in ensuring a healthy and happy cat!

I will also send as many updates via text as you want, with photos and "report cards" of your little ones activities for the day. We also provide baths, nail trims and ear cleanings! About: I am such an animal lover, and I like to think they love me too;) I have owned dogs my whole life and recently adopted a cat, Willow! I’m excited to meet and care for your pets:) I am a student at MTSU currently home for the summer, and I’m working part time at the moment. This means that I am available often! I am very attentive of my animals (currently one dog and one cat). I feed them on a consistent schedule and let the dog out every two-three hours. I also provide them with lots of attention, whether they would prefer to be in my skin (my dog) or relax in the same area without touch (my cat). I can be very adaptive to any animals’ needs!

I’m currently working Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:00pm, I get an hour lunch from 11:00 to 12:00pm so I could check on animals during lunch and then of course be with them at all times outside of this work schedule, I’m off Saturday and Sunday. I will be offering all services except for boarding in my own home because present circumstances prevent me from doing so. If I sit for you in your home I will treat it with the utmost respect and abide by any and all guidelines you provide including cleaning up after any pet incident, bathing, playtime, etc.

She’s not even a year old, so it meant a lot knowing they took extra care with her and paid attention to her needs as she can be very hyper at times and needs some re direction. I felt completely at ease the entire time knowing she was in such good hands. I forgot to pack enough food for the second day, and they stepped in without hesitation to make sure she was fed and well taken care of, which I really appreciated. Their yard is nice and fully fenced in, making it a safe and fun space for the dogs to play. Parker clearly had a great time she slept the entire day when she got home! “What an outstanding time Gracie had staying with Darlene and her family! She had never had an overnighted at a strangers house before and now she had 7 in a row!! Darlene had invited us over for a pre-stay visit and within minutes both Gracie & I were sure we’d made a good choice. Darlene has a wonderful place catering to animals, with plenty of space away from traffic & everyday distractions with a fenced play area for the usual shenanigans. ? Both the house and her family (humans & dogs & cats) are so welcoming, safe and clean. As excited as she was to see me after 7 days, I could tell she wanted to stay longer.
