“Having just traveled across the country, we found ourselves staying with relatives for a time while we waited for our new apartment to be open for us. Our standard poodle, Ranger, was not understanding why we never seemed to be going home, and that was what he wanted most to do. We were very thankful that our relatives had been able to accommodate us, however, having Ranger in their home was not working well for them. So, we looked for a rover.com care person in the area to help us out for the days until we could move into our apartment. That’s where Dee came in. She was gracious and accommodating. She opened her home to Ranger for ten days, and made him welcome. In other boarding situations in the past, he was cared for, but he ALWAYS lost a considerable amount of weight. Not with Dee!! Dee gave Ranger all of the TLC he needed even during this time that was so uncertain for him. She got her hands right into his food and mixed his Fresh Pet food with his kibble so that every piece of kibble was coated with the tastier food. And it worked! Because even though he may have been missing us, he ate! And he didn’t lose any weight! We could tell she had gone the extra mile with him, and we are very grateful for the care she gave him. Five stars doesn’t even say enough for how happy we are with the care she gave our Ranger.”

Elora seemed to get along just fine with her and her animals and came home just as content as when we dropped her off. The only thing I would mention for anyone with chemical sensitives Elora did come home smelling like a lot of artificial fragrances as did everything we dropped her off with and needed a good bath (she was not pleased about that) as we are chemical sensitive. This has nothing to do with the quality of care, and the genuine heart of Angela and her family just something to be aware of for those who have chemical sensitivities to artificial fragrances which is why I have rated 4 stars.”

About: I've taken care of animals my whole life. I grew up on a farm so I have extended experience with horses, goats, cows, dogs, and cats. I regularly watch a friend's cats when they are out of town. I can feed, bathe, administer oral or topical medicine, walk, and play with pets. About: I've always liked to rescue animals and care for them from a young age. So lots of my family and friends would bring animals to me or trust me to petsit for them. I've not only cared for dogs and cats, but also turtles, toads, and a few birds. I'm currently solely attending classes so I have plenty of availability for your pets to always feel well cared for during their stay with me! I have a fenced patio, luckily there are a few pet friendly parks that surround me. I follow any instructions given for your pet care to a T since no one knows your pet like you do. I have a housemate, but she is just as loving to any animal brought in.

About: I have owned dogs and cats all of my life. I have taken care of all kinds of dogs, cats, rabbits, even birds. I have had many friends, neighbors, and family members ask me to care for their beloved animals over the years. I have done long term fostering as well. I’m currently a stay at home mom of 3 so my schedule varies between my children’s activities. My kids are willing and eager to help or can also be less involved if necessary. I’m able to pet sit on the weekends and during the week. I can happily provide necessary play or walking for your dog in your yard or on a leash. About: I love animals! I grew up with pets and have helped care for them since I was about ten years old. For the past three years I’ve been boarding pets regularly at my home :) I’m a stay at home parent, so I’m home most days all day! As a professional dog walker, I do my utmost to ensure that each dog feels comfortable and at ease with plenty of interaction and attention. It is not uncommon for new surroundings to disrupt a dog's digestive system, resulting in loose stools. However, there is no cause for alarm as this is a normal reaction to a change in routine. Typically, after 1-2 visits, the dog's digestive system will adjust, and any issues will resolve. It is important to note that the level of reaction varies depending on the dog's unique personality and temperament. *WHAT IF MY DOG IS SPECIAL NEEDS?* I am able to care for nearly ALL special needs dogs! 1) Allergies: Please let me know of any beforehand! 2) Medicine: info must be written on a note alongside food, with dosage, etc. (non-medical injections such as insulin is okay. In the state of Virginia, medical/complex injections require specific qualifications/certifications, which I do not have.) 3) Diapers are okay 4) Blind or Deaf? I’ve cared for several blind/deaf dogs and they’re always great! 5) Paralyzed: I have experience with a pitbull who was paralyzed from the waste down due to an incident. I kept up with physical therapy, indoor accidents, cleaning/caring, hand feeding. 5) Something Else? Let me know *HOW WILL MY DOGS BE CARED FOR?* When caring for your pup during visits and stays, their personality is my top priority. I will adjust my activity level according to their specific needs to ensure their safety and comfort. In the case of inclement weather or unfortunate situations that may cause your pup to get dirty, rest assured that I will have a towel or wipes readily available to clean them up. She's sweet as honey and loves everyone, including cats, dogs, and humans of all ages. I can't guarantee she won't lick you to death, but hey, that's just her way of saying hello! I'm pretty strict when it comes to Suki's diet and exercise routine. She gets fed twice a day with a slow feeder to avoid any mishaps, and I make sure to keep her brain active with mentally stimulating games when we're not out and about. Speaking of which, we hit the dog park 3-5 times a week and go on hikes and runs at the lake. Suki's a ball of energy and loves playing fetch, so be prepared to throw that ball a few times! Now, let me be honest with you. It's highly unlikely, but on occasion, Suki might come along for a walk or a drop-in visit and hang out in my car. Don't worry, she's super chill and won't leave any fur behind. I convinced my parents really young to get a dog and since then, I’ve taken care of and trained 3 dogs of my own. Friends and family that get pets often ask me for advice. “Having just traveled across the country, we found ourselves staying with relatives for a time while we waited for our new apartment to be open for us. Our standard poodle, Ranger, was not understanding why we never seemed to be going home, and that was what he wanted most to do. We were very thankful that our relatives had been able to accommodate us, however, having Ranger in their home was not working well for them. So, we looked for a rover.com care person in the area to help us out for the days until we could move into our apartment. That’s where Dee came in. She was gracious and accommodating. She opened her home to Ranger for ten days, and made him welcome. In other boarding situations in the past, he was cared for, but he ALWAYS lost a considerable amount of weight. Not with Dee!! Dee gave Ranger all of the TLC he needed even during this time that was so uncertain for him. She got her hands right into his food and mixed his Fresh Pet food with his kibble so that every piece of kibble was coated with the tastier food. And it worked! Because even though he may have been missing us, he ate! And he didn’t lose any weight! We could tell she had gone the extra mile with him, and we are very grateful for the care she gave him. Five stars doesn’t even say enough for how happy we are with the care she gave our Ranger.”

“Snickers did great with Ben and his wife. They took her for walks and played ball with her. I’m sure she had fun playing with their dog. I would definitely let Snickers stay with them again.”
“You know your dog is happy with your sitter when you go the next time and he pulls on his leash to get into her house! We are so happy with Shawna’s care of Rufus while we were away. Also we were very thankful she noticed a hotspot under his armpit and got him well on the way to recovery before we returned. Rufus will definitely be back! 😊”
