She took special care to walk them and make them feel as comfortable in their new environment. Sue also took time each day to send me photos and texts so I knew they were ok. “One of my 2 cats is medically complicated with IBD. His prevention regimen requires great attention to detail. He’s also very nervous around new people. So I selected Heather bc of her vet tech background and her “no-fear” technique training. Heather did an overnight stay to start build rapport for an upcoming longer vacation. Much to my surprise, both cats took to Heather right away. Her fear reduction techniques worked well. I could not believe the chummy photos she was sending me on her first stay! Also there was an unexpected wrinkle in my cat’s normal regimen, and Heather handled it as I would have if I were home. I could rest easy. I also like how she confirms and repeats back instructions related to my complicated cat, bc the wrong move could set off a chain reaction of unpleasantries. I look forward to hiring her again for the vacation.”

There was a nice yard and Falco was able to roam around to his heart’s content. Falco is a big boy and Misael and his family treated Falco like their own. About: I have have experience owning dogs from chihuahua size to vizsla size, and experience fostering/house sitting everything in between. I love dogs around here, and will be treated like family. Your pet will stay home with me and my 11 year vizsla all day. He/she will have immediate access to our 2 acre of wooded and yard property as often as needed. We also take 2-5 mile hikes often, and they are welcome to join. Your pet will have Watson, our super friendly and active 11 ye old Vizsla for company as well as 2acres to explore. Cold winter days are spent in front of a wood stove fire, and the rest of the time pets are welcome (if not encouraged!) to spend time on sofas and beds for snuggles and naps. Dogs are family here.

About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.

About: Growing up, I’ve always had a ton of animals in the house. Since I was a teenager, I have house-sat/animal-sat for family members and family friends. “Repeat customer for Lindsay. I love seeing pictures of Daisy playing with other dogs in her closed in yard and seeing her get attentions from Lindsay and her family. As far as I can tell Daisy likes going there too since she doesn't try pull away on her leash when we drop her off.”

He was incredibly patient with her and helped her build trust and feel safe during her stay. He also helped her become more comfortable around other dogs, which meant a lot to us. Rafael was always quick to respond, speaks both English and Spanish, and kept us updated with beautiful photos throughout Zelda's stay. He was kind, enthusiastic, respectful, and very understanding.
