About: I grew up with pets (both cats and dogs) and have always loved being around and caring for animals. I worked as an animal care associate at the Humane Society of Chittenden County in Burlington, VT, where I learned safe handling techniques, gained medical knowledge, and cared for a wide variety of breeds and behavioral cases. I have extensive experience with cats, dogs, and smallies of all shapes and sizes and would love to help care for yours. I have a flexible schedule which leaves me plenty of time to walk and play with fur babies. I do have a part time job so I will need to leave occasionally when I am housesitting. About: I brought our two cats, Chili and Lok-Lok, all the way from China, but I grew up with dogs in my family and love both. I’ve taken care of my family’s and friends’ dogs and I heard about this app so I thought it might be fun to give it a try. Whenever I get called on to dog-sit for my friend here in Pittsburgh I like to go to the dog parks near the South Side river or jog along with them, rain or snow, and socialize with other dogs. Looking forward to meeting yours! I’m a PhD student at the University of Pittsburgh so summer and winter breaks are relatively free, and usually I’m only “working” 2-3 half days per week. I have to do a lot of reading and thinking so getting out of the house is a good way to take a break and process. I have a fenced yard where I do some gardening and let our cats out every day to chase bugs and birds. My friends have stayed over with their dogs and I just move the cats to the second floor and keep them there while the dogs take the first and the yard.

We recently said goodbye to our senior Boston Terrier in January of this year. We have owned multiple Boston Terriers for the past 20 years. I also recently fostered a Goberian (half Golden Retriever/half Husky) for 4 months so am comfortable with large dogs as well as small. I work a hybrid schedule that I manage myself so can be home most of the time with your pet. If I do need to be in the office I am only gone for 4-5 hours at a time. I have a fenced in, brick courtyard that's great for quick potty breaks and lounging in the sun. But I also really enjoy long walks so can accomodate whatever your pet prefers. Happy to discuss everything and will do whatever is best for your pet. We also own a Syrian Hamster named Cookie Dough that is completely secure in her enclosure. Your pet would have to be ok with children (extra play time for your pet) because I have a 9 year old daughter who is here most of the time. I will be the person providing care to your pet 100% of the time. At no time will my child be responsible for or left alone with your pet. Any additional questions, please ask. We are not yet ready for our own full time dog and we miss having one around so I figured we would give Rover a try. Look forward to meeting you and your pet. “Krista and her dog, Griffin, were the perfect hosts for my two Malt-Shih 2 y.o. pups. As with any siblings they have very different personalities, one outgoing but the other, very anxious. Krista, with her calm demeanor, won him over in no time, assisted by Griffin (a large dog whose size would normally trigger fear) mirrored his owner's gentle personality. I will definitely request Krista and Griffin in the future.”

“Raeann took such good care of my chihuahua Mojo while I was away! It’s the only time I’ve ever had someone else watching him where I didn’t worry about him constantly. She sent me multiple pictures/updates each day and I could tell he was relaxed and engaged. I appreciated that she checked with me if certain outings were ok (like taking him on trips in the car) and she made sure his important instructions were followed. He was clearly VERY loved and had all of his emotional and physical needs met. He settled right back in at home without any “where were you how could you have left me” like he has in the past before Raeann. Thank you again!”
