About: I often take friends and families dogs in when they are in a jam for overnights or vacations. I took in my brothers Senior Dog and cared for him in his final days. We try to make sure someone is home at all times so Gus isn’t alone. About: I’ve had animals my whole life and love every type breed and size. I am the go to friend when a friend needs someone to come let their dogs out or watch them over a weekend. I have a 3 year old Pitt/Staffy that I rescued when he was very young. I work 4 days a week, which I will typically block off, but am home several times for walks and care. If needing days covered outside my availability, given it would be a good fit and pickup/dropoff works with my schedule, I can try to accommodate. I block off any time I’ll be out of town and mainly just chill at home with my own pitty otherwise. We go on daily walks for the needed exercise and energy burn. My apartment is smaller but we have a great neighborhood to walk in. We have Pennypack park I go to for walks frequently and visit other outdoor dog parks in Jersey once a weekend. I have an extra crate if it’s needed and lots of toys.

We will treat your pet as if it was our own. We really want a pet but we can’t quite commit to one yet since we travel alot, so your pet is like our pet 🤣 We cared for both cats and dog and we love both! About: Hi! I'm Melissa! A little bit about me. Growing up, our family always had dogs and cats. Since the moment I was born, I was raised alongside dogs and cats and at one point in my childhood we had three large breed dogs and 2 cats at once, so fun and crazy! This always nurtured my deep appreciation for animals from an early age. One of our family dogs even had three litters of puppies during my teenage years, giving me hands on experience caring for dogs and puppies of all ages and sizes. Today, I have my own dog in my own family home, a 76 pound English Coonhound rescue from Arkansas. Despite his high energy levels, strength and tendency to pull on the leash, I handle him confidently and independently. I adopted him through Philly Rescue Angels Inc., where I am also an approved foster. Family and friends have relied on me for years from a young age to let out, walk, feed, and play with their dogs whether it be when they need help on short notice or go on an extended vacation. In addition to my experience with dogs, I’ve had cats throughout my life and have fostered them as well. One of my cats even needed daily insulin injections for diabetes and I always handled that myself. My background has given me a well rounded understanding of animal care, and I take pride in my ability to provide attentive, compassionate, and responsible care for all of your pets! Since I am a nurse, I also understand most medical conditions and medication administration and precautions for pets as well, they're more similar to us than we realize! I am a registered nurse whom only works 3 days per week. I am quite flexible in my schedule and can move around my days easily if requested! I have a fenced in yard. I have a friendly dog to play with your pup! And an extra large crate if you need your pet crated at all. Pets are allowed on furniture in my house as well!

Whatever unease Poppy may have felt initially quickly dissipated with her loving care of him!! She was also very sensitive to his possible reaction to fireworks over July 4 anticipating he may not react well. She made sure she provided a quiet and safe space for him.
