“We can't speak highly enough of our dogs' experience with Michelle and Luke's family. We booked our two dachshunds with their family for a week vacation. Our dogs had very little experience around young children and we had concerns this may be a challenge. We initially met with Michelle online and she was kind enough to explain her home and property layout, discuss any questions we had. During drop off, we met with Michelle and spent some time getting to know her and the property, which are both well suited to ensuring her doggie guests are comfortable and well taken care of. Our dogs were obviously excited and carrying on during drop off, barking at anything that moved. Michelle assured us everything would be ok and explained how her and the family would work with our dogs over the next several days. During vacation, we had great daily interaction and Michelle provided photos and feedback of how our dogs were progressing and interacting with the children. This daily interaction made a huge impact on how our vacation went, none of the typical worry about the dogs being ok. By the time we returned from vacation to pick up our dogs, they were relaxed, calm and very happy around the children. We let Michelle know she is now known as the "Dog Whisperer" :). Typically, upon return home, our dogs are very stressed out from boarding and take a few days to get back into routine. This time was completely different - both dogs came home relaxed, happy and calm. The girls even made a special card for both dogs which is super cute. I work a full time job outside of pet sitting. I’m gone from 10am-4pm and my off days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. My schedule is very flexible, so if there are any issues with my work schedule, it can be moved around. I’m typically gone between 6-8 hours depending on travel time as well. I stay at the client’s house so that way their pets are comfortable in their own home and environment. Growing up, I lived across the street from my great aunt who bred and showed Great Danes. I love animals and enjoy taking care of them. I am flexible throughout the week/on the weekend, and will be on my first year of college at WVU. I am looking for this to be my main source of income, so I am willing to dedicate as much time and effort as necessary. I am only available to care for clients’ pets in their own homes. I can offer daytime drop-in care and/or overnight stays. I also have my own reliable form of transportation, so distance/location is not an issue.

I ask lots of questions upfront and pay close attention to the small stuff: think feeding times, meds, favorite routes, comfort items, quirks, fears, or behaviors, because those details are what make a dog feel secure. I'd rather over-communicate than guess. I lived with and cared for a reactive dog for 13 years, so I know firsthand what it takes to help an anxious dog feel safe, and how to prevent conflict in the first place. All my dogs have been rescues, and I have a soft spot for dogs who need extra patience to warm up. I'm not a certified trainer, but I've spent years learning dog training, body language, and enrichment, and every interaction is rooted in positive reinforcement. I will require a meet and greet with your pet in advance of the first booking so they can become familiar with me, and so I can become familiar with their routine and needs. My schedule gives me plenty of flexibility to be present for your dog, whether that's extra walks, playtime, or just being around for company, and I'm happy to talk through what kind of availability works best for your pet! I work from home which allows me the flexibility to prioritize pet care in a way I wouldn’t be able to with a traditional office. This gives me the ability to keep anxious dogs company, breaks for play time, medication, cuddles or walks when they are needed, not when they can be fit in. I create a calm, secure environment where pets feel safe and comfortable. Whether in my home or theirs, I work on building trust by moving at each pet’s pace and honoring their boundaries. Safety is always my top priority, I supervise pets closely, follow all instructions carefully, and adapt to their unique needs. I keep spaces clean, hazard-free, and ensure pets have fresh water, proper food, and quiet resting spots. For reactive or anxious pets, I use gentle, low stress handling & positive reinforcement or redirecting to help them feel calm and supported. Every care plan is tailored specifically to your pet’s needs after we discuss what works best for them.
About: Hello! I am a pediatric nurse in Pittsburgh. My primary job allows me to be flexible! I can come for walks and visits during the week. I have been helping out with family dogs all my life! I work full time as nurse, however I work three twelve hour shifts a week so I have flexibility! I can be available during the weekdays while you are at work! About: I have raised dogs all my life. A few years back I used to rescue and board temporarily until the dogs were nursed back to health. Once the dogs were adoptable we would set up meet and greets to adopt out. I am experienced with many breeds. I used to have a terrier who was diagnosed with diabetes. We had to do injections twice a day and put her on a feeding schedule. I have experience with several breeds starting small to huge! I am currently a stay at home mom. I have a wide open schedule at the moment and I'm just looking for busy work until school starts. My dogs are let out routinely. They are fed on a strict schedule twice a day. “We can't speak highly enough of our dogs' experience with Michelle and Luke's family. We booked our two dachshunds with their family for a week vacation. Our dogs had very little experience around young children and we had concerns this may be a challenge. We initially met with Michelle online and she was kind enough to explain her home and property layout, discuss any questions we had. During drop off, we met with Michelle and spent some time getting to know her and the property, which are both well suited to ensuring her doggie guests are comfortable and well taken care of. Our dogs were obviously excited and carrying on during drop off, barking at anything that moved. Michelle assured us everything would be ok and explained how her and the family would work with our dogs over the next several days. During vacation, we had great daily interaction and Michelle provided photos and feedback of how our dogs were progressing and interacting with the children. This daily interaction made a huge impact on how our vacation went, none of the typical worry about the dogs being ok. By the time we returned from vacation to pick up our dogs, they were relaxed, calm and very happy around the children. We let Michelle know she is now known as the "Dog Whisperer" :). Typically, upon return home, our dogs are very stressed out from boarding and take a few days to get back into routine. This time was completely different - both dogs came home relaxed, happy and calm. The girls even made a special card for both dogs which is super cute. Can't thank Michelle and her family enough for a wonderful experience, our dogs can't wait to go back and spend time again. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life! I’ve dealt with roles such as training for younger dogs and extensive care for seniors. I’m comfortable with large dogs and I also have experience administering insulin to diabetic animals. I currently have 2 dogs and 1 cat, so pet care plays a huge role in my life! What I do and where I go fully revolves around my pets, so please expect me to show the same care for yours! My yard is large, but not fenced, so if your dog is a runner please keep that in mind. I have a stream in my yard for your babies that like playing in the water and both of my dogs are very active and playful. My cat however, is not fond of other kitties. If watching your pets in your home, my primary concern is making them feel comfortable and allowing them to burn off some energy while you’re away.
