Dogs are not allowed outside without a leash or tether at my house. I’m most comfortable with dogs being leashed until I know their recall abilities with me. We discovered before we dropped him off the first morning that our group would be eating dinner about 3 miles from the sitter's home. To pick him up at 4:30, return him to the B&B, and then drive back to dinner venue would have added about 15 - 18 miles of driving in somewhat heavy traffic. For this reason I will leash or clip client dogs to a long line when taking them outside for their own safety, unless the owner is confident in their recall abilities and/or specifically grants them permission to be off leash while supervised. Pets will always have access to clean drinking water, and I have a few dog crates available to use upon request for dogs who may benefit from one (for up to medium-large size). About: I have experience with many types of dogs of all sizes and energy levels! My dog, who is a coonhound mix, gets walked a lot, but is very chill and super friendly with other dogs. I’ve also cared for dogs from an aggressive lab mix, to a 4lb chihuahua. I had a long-term dog sitting job in college where I frequently gave medicine, assembled natural food plates, and exercised multiple dogs with different ages and energy levels. I’m currently working part time, so I have plenty of time to tend to your pup! My dog also requires a lot of attention, so I’m used to dogs who need multiple walks a day and lots of cuddle/play time. My dog gets walked at least 4 miles a day, and has constant access to food and water, as he eats pretty intuitively. While he normally just lounges around the apartment while I’m gone, he is crate trained and can he put up if that is what your pup prefers!
