“This was our second time having John and Jess watch our pup! They are the best sitters by far!! They sent multiple videos and photos throughout the day where we saw our dog having so much fun. We went camping for a few days without reception and I had zero worries that they were taking great care of our pup. When we got spots of reception, they were very quick to check in and it was so relieving to have lots of videos and updates waiting for us. Chance LOVES them and their puppies so much! He was so excited to see them again. He can’t wait for his next vacation stay with John and Jess!”

“Bristoe had a ball! Thank you for having him! I loved the texts throughout my stay away from my boy. Theresa was very accommodating and easy to work with. Thanks again!! We look forward to future stays.”

“Chris and Gerry are so nice, loving, and kind. My girls felt at ease while staying with them. It helps that they only take one client at a time. If you are looking for someone to love your babies like their own, look no further. Definitely book with Chris and Gerry!”

“Went out of town for 5 days and my Irma got to spend the time with Sandra. Once we pulled onto Sandra’s street Irma knew where we were. Sandra is amazing and the only one I would go to if I were heading out of town. Glad she’s back sitting pups!”
“We recently had to board our dog, Coco, with Joyce on very short notice due to a family emergency. We can’t thank her enough for her incredible care and support during this difficult time. From the moment we dropped Coco off, it was clear she was in good hands. Joyce was attentive, kind, and made sure Coco felt comfortable and loved. We truly appreciate the extra effort Joyce put into making our pup feel at home. We’ll definitely be returning for future boarding needs. Thank you, Joyce, for being such a wonderful host!”

About: Ever since I was a little kid, I have felt connected to animals. I have had and taken care of dogs since I was 10. When I went away to college without my dogs, I realized how necessary doggie love was to my happiness. This led me to volunteering at the local SPCA walking dogs. Now, I am back home working at a doggy daycare. Caring for animals makes me feel fulfilled and I would love to share this love with your furry friend! I currently work part-time so I will have plenty of time to play with your pups! I am available both in the mornings and evenings. I care deeply for all living beings around me and believe they are all deserving of love and care. I will take your pup on walks and make sure to keep them company while their favorite people are away.

About: I have been providing consistent cat care for my Tabby Cat for 10 years! I understand that cats have an even wider range of moods and unique personalities than their canine counterparts. Their behavior can be a little trickier to read, but this doesn't stop me from providing felines with optimal care. In fact, understanding that cats and their needs can be different from dogs has taught me the importance of evaluating cat behavior and adjusting my caregiving approach accordingly.
“Abby was fantastic! I had not used Rover before so I was a little nervous. From beginning to end Abby was extremely professional and great with Ella! I loved getting the texts when she got to the house and left, the pictures made our day! I highly recommend Abby!”

About: I’ve taken care of many cats and up to 10 cats at once if properly instructed there is no limit to my cat care! Also I love them too much to complain! I can administer medication to elderly kitties and am comfortable with kittens if I can bring a bell for them! (All jokes! I just don’t wanna step in something so tiny and adorable and the bell is cute!) I am excited and hope I get to meet y’all and you’re kittens young and old!

About: I have a wide variety of experience with all sorts of animals. I’ve had large and small dogs, cats, rodents, amphibians, and lizards, I even had a pot belly pig, sheep & duck as a child. I also volunteered at a local vet when I was a teenager and gained a lot of hands on experience caring for many types of animals! I’m a stay at home mom and I homeschool my two teenage daughters. They absolutely adore animals as well. I feel this will allow me to spend a lot of one on one time with your pet. Your fur baby will be well cared for and interacted with while they’re here! (Please note that Rover doesn’t consider my children’s ages to count towards, “children being present in our home.” However, I think this information should be available to those who choose to put their pets in my care. I have a fenced in yard with plenty of space for your fur baby to run! I also have separate family room in my house where our dogs sleep at night, and that is where I would put crates if they need to be crated at any time.
“Cheryl made me feel at ease about leaving my very anxious baby. Her system to introducing the dogs really put my mind at ease, and she sent me pictures while we were out to let me know my pup was okay. I would recommend her. Thank you Cheryl!”

About: Although we are new to the area, we are definitely not new to caring for dogs. We recently purchased the well-known dog kennel in Smithsburg and are in the process of restoring it. Parts of the kennel are already fully functional, and we’re excited to begin welcoming dogs while we continue improving the property. It’s a place many people in the community already know, and we feel lucky to be able to carry on its history. Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with them and honestly can’t remember a time when I didn’t love being around them. That same love has followed me into adulthood. Over the years I’ve naturally become the neighborhood go-to pet sitter. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me with their pets for years, and I always care for them the same way I care for my own dogs — with patience, attention, and lots of affection. One of the things I’m most proud of is the therapy work I did with my dog. I trained and certified her as a therapy dog, and for 10 years we volunteered together in hospitals and nursing homes. That experience actually inspired my career path, and I went on to become a certified occupational therapist. My sweet therapy dog has since passed away after a long and wonderful life. She was incredibly special to me. I’m now starting that journey again with my new puppy, Merango, and hope to continue therapy work in the future. Right now I’m taking some time away from my occupational therapy work to focus on renovating and restarting the kennel. It’s something I’ve always dreamed about doing, and I’m excited to bring new life to a place that so many people in the community already know. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and dogs with medical needs, including giving medications like insulin injections. Our property has large outdoor fenced runs that give dogs plenty of space to move around and enjoy the fresh air in a quiet farm setting. injections. I’m currently focused on renovating and restoring the kennel property, which allows me to be home most of the day and provide consistent supervision and care for the dogs staying with us. We are early risers in our home and typically start the day around 7 AM with potty breaks and breakfast. Mornings are usually spent outside enjoying the property — going on walks around our 20-acre farm or spending time in the fenced runs while I do morning chores. Around lunchtime everyone, animals included, usually settles in for a quiet rest period. I check that everyone has fresh water and food if needed before nap time. In the mid-afternoon we head back outside for more activity. Depending on the dog, this may include running in the fenced fields, exploring the property on a guided walk, or simply relaxing in the fresh air. Dinner is around 6 PM, followed by a calm evening inside. We finish the day with a final potty break and check-in before bedtime around 9 PM. My goal is to give dogs a peaceful farm stay with plenty of space to move, fresh air, and a consistent routine so they feel comfortable and relaxed while they’re away from home I understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care. When I first started using Rover for my own dogs, I remember feeling nervous too. I always appreciated sitters who kept me updated, so I make a point to do the same. I’m happy to send photos and updates so you can see how your dog is doing and feel confident they’re happy and well cared for. On our property, dogs have access to spacious individual indoor/outdoor kennel runs where they can relax comfortably. We also have several large fenced areas where dogs can safely run, play, and explore. Safety is always my top priority, and dogs are supervised during outdoor time to make sure everyone stays happy and secure

They provided her with lots of exercise and play, as well as lots of love. I showed up to one happy dog at the end of the day. Jesse is a good communicator and provided updates and pics from the day. We would recommend Jesse for any dog sitting needs!”

“Charlie has been great with Sami! He sends photos and videos to calm any concerns I might have about leaving my sweet pup in daycare. I am confident Sami is in good hands when she visits Charlie and his family. Thanks for taking great care of my Sami!”

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs for many years and currently have two senior dogs of my own, so I understand the patience, attention, and consistency pets need to feel comfortable and safe. I’m dependable, attentive, and will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect I give my own. I’m available for house sitting, drop-in visits, and walks on both weekdays and weekends. I’m happy to follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and bedtime routines. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, routines, and household rules. I take time to learn each pet’s personality and respect their boundaries, especially with senior, shy, or anxious pets. When staying in a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space, keep the home secure, and provide regular updates so owners can feel comfortable while they’re away.

About: I have been a pet owner and caregiver my whole life. While I am a people person, I have always related the most to animals. I do them with as much intention and love as I can! I have cared for every sized dog, every cat personality, and farm animals. I am currently more available this summer: my main job is M-F, 9am - 1pm, meaning I can visit your pets 3 times a day as you need before and after those hours! I want your pets to feel as safe with me as they feel with you. I stick to the schedules I'm given, making sure I don't miss the extra pet you might give them. I enjoy cleaning as well, as this usually gives the animals a better headspace while you are out, so your home will be respected as well!

About: I’ve been pet sitting for over 10 years, starting in middle school and continuing through college and grad school. I have experience with dog walking, drop-in visits, overnight stays, and caring for both dogs and cats. While in school, I regularly pet sat for families in Pennsylvania and built lasting relationships through reliable, attentive care. I’ve worked with pets of all ages and sizes—including dogs with health issues who require medication, special routines, or extra attention. What sets me apart is my lifelong connection to animals. I grew up in a home with pets throughout my childhood—including 4 dogs (labs and pointers), 6 cats, and 10 bunnies—so caring for animals has always been a part of my life. I’m dependable, patient, and genuinely love making animals feel safe, happy, and cared for. I recently started a full-time role, but the great news is I only work three days a week! That means I still have plenty of availability during weekdays and weekends for drop-ins, walks, and pet sitting. I'm happy to work with your schedule and provide consistent care for your pets while you're away or at work. Feel free to reach out with any questions or requests—I’d love to help! I take safety and trust seriously and always aim to make both pets and their owners feel at ease. I care for pets in their own home to help maintain their routine and comfort, which I know is especially important for animals who may get anxious in unfamiliar environments. I follow all instructions carefully—whether it's feeding schedules, medication, walking routes, or playtime preferences—and I’m happy to provide updates and photos so you know your pet is safe and happy while you're away. I treat every pet like my own and every home with the utmost respect, keeping things clean, secure, and exactly how you left them. You can feel confident that your furry friend is in caring, trustworthy hands.

About: I have a strong love for animals, and have grown up with many different species my whole life. I currently have 3 cats, but I love dogs as well and hope to get one of my own someday. I have worked at multiple doggie daycare/boarding facilities and have worked at a veterinary hospital for over 4 years. My goal is to become a veterinarian someday so I can continue helping animals lifelong. I have been dogsitting and dogwalking for years but I would like to expand into having more customers around my area. I am a very responsible caretaker and do the tasks I am asked to do readily and on time. I also love to take pictures of pets so you will get lots while you’re away (if you elect so). I hope to meet you and your wonderful pets sometime soon! I graduated college over a year ago with a bachelor degree in biology and currently have some free time on my hands while continuing my education further online. I always check over the environment in which the animal is staying in beforehand to make sure there isn’t anything they could get their self into.
“Matthew is responsive, conscientious and clearly experienced in working with animals. He walks our three dogs, including managing our dog-reactive German Shepherd. We will absolutely continue working with him and consider ourselves lucky to have found such a great person to care for our animals.”

About: I've been taking care of my own animals my whole life. Neighbors, friends, and family started hiring me for pet care when I was still in high school. I love the stark difference in pet personalities and learning how each of them likes to be cared for. Examples of my past & present clientele: - A family with 7 chihuahuas of varying ages and levels of crazy - A brand new hyperactive Bernedoodle puppy whom I still care for regularly (she's 4 now!) - A sweet lab who liked long, slow walks and bananas - A moody cat who could not care less about me (I have slowly earned the blessing of giving head pats to them now) - A tortoise who inspires me to slow down and eat more greens *my home is a safe space for people and pets from all walks of life* I am available for early morning or evening walks and drop-ins during the week. I am available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday unless I have a family or social event. However, I am always open to working around my schedule and offering as much flexibility as I can - just shoot me a message! We have a large back porch and yard with a fenced area for sniffing around. If your pet requires extra exercise, we have a quiet neighborhood to walk around in. We have a dog bed in almost every room, space for you to bring a crate, or an area that can be closed off overnight if necessary or requested. There are few places in the house that the dogs don't have access to out of an abundance of safety. Otherwise, they are welcome to make themselves at home! If I care for an animal in your home, I will let you and your pet take the lead!

“Karma loved her visit with Sarah and Ethan. She appeared to have adapted well and will be comfortable when she visits again in December. I highly recommend Sarah as pet sitter.”

“Terri was absolutely wonderful. She let us do a meet & greet before leaving my pups which really gave me peace of mind. She had a nice & clean environment. Daily reassurance of how they have been doing along with a ton of pictures and to top it of she was so kind to gift them some new toys to keep!”

“Emily was great and handled our 100 pound Doberman effortlessly. I never felt so comfortable going out of town. Our Doberman Zeus is cautious of new people and immediately loved Emily. She took him on long walks everyday and sent pictures. We will definitely be boarding him again with Emily.”

“Bristoe had a ball! Thank you for having him! I loved the texts throughout my stay away from my boy. Theresa was very accommodating and easy to work with. Thanks again!! We look forward to future stays.”

“Went out of town for 5 days and my Irma got to spend the time with Sandra. Once we pulled onto Sandra’s street Irma knew where we were. Sandra is amazing and the only one I would go to if I were heading out of town. Glad she’s back sitting pups!”
“Absolutely incredible.. Our furbabies were safe & happy while our family was on vacation.. Candace & her family gave our 3 cuddle buddies the best care. We received pics & updates.. It was an awesome experience for all of us.. We will definitely rebook w Candace again..”

“Danny was great. Kept me informed and sent pics of Finn. This was the first time I left Finn for such a long time, but I think I missed him more than he missed me. I will use Danny in the future to take care of Finn.”

“Diana took amazing care of our girl! Who is VERY high energy and loves to play. She sent us videos every day of them playing fetch and/or on walks in the fields. We love that Diana is comfortable and familiar with using an e collar and can have Bella off leash. Bella can’t wait to go back! 🥰”

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs for many years and currently have two senior dogs of my own, so I understand the patience, attention, and consistency pets need to feel comfortable and safe. I have experience with different personalities, energy levels, routines, and the extra care that comes with older dogs. I’m dependable, attentive, and will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect I give my own. I know how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pets while you’re away, and I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and companionship. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of time, attention, and companionship throughout the day. I’m available for house sitting, drop-in visits, and walks on both weekdays and weekends. “Second time booking with Charlie, first time boarding. It was a smooth and stress-free experience. My dog seemed very happy playing with the other pups. You know your pup is always in good hands with Charlie.”

“Annette is the best! I actually hesitate to leave a review because I don't want all of her spaces to fill up! Your dog will be welcomed into the fold and Annette will ask you about - and then pay attention to - their needs. She has been fostering for so long, she has literally seen everything – and can deal with everything. Teddy had a great time, and I left with new insights into her behaviors. Annette is a gem.”
