“We can’t say enough amazing things about Renee, she was truly our angel during a very stressful moment while we were on vacation in Florida. The place where our dog was staying unexpectedly call us and rudely demanded that we pick up our dog immediately. Being out there of state with no one nearby to help, we were completely panicked and heartbroken. My husband remember about Rover and he find Renee, she responded very quickly asking the situation and accept our booking. Without hesitation, she stepped in and went out of her way to pick up our dog for us. She was incredibly sweet, caring, and compassionate, exactly what we needed in that moment. She treated our puppy with so much love and care, like he was her own, and kept us updated and send us pictures of him smiling and acting like he is at home. We are beyond grateful for her kindness and will never forget what she did for us. Thank you, dear Renee, you are truly one of a kind!❤️🐾”

“Jessica was amazing. Took such good care of our two dogs and has expertise in grooming! I felt very comfortable leaving my dogs with her and she made sure to update me everyday which made me feel better. I highly recommend Jessica to anyone!”

“Terri was amazing. So chill and relaxed around our sensitive dog. She is one of those rare sitters that does not have her own dogs or cats and is 100% dedicated to yours. She has a house and yard that are peaceful and quiet and in a great neighborhood for interesting walks. I would 100% recommend Terri, she is an absolute gem.”

“I had to leave my dog Thenji with Adrienne and Nick at very short notice. They were able to take her. It was so reassuring to know that she was being so lovingly cared for!”

“We use Sarah exclusively now and Huck loves going to her house. This stay we had a medical emergency that prevented us from making drop off. Sarah drove out of her way to pick Huck up with it being her suggestion. This was such a huge help to us. We are so grateful and thankful that we found her!!”

“Rosa stepped in at the last minute to care for our pup when another Rover sitter had to cancel! Very easy to communicate with. She's a former dog breeder so very experienced with dogs. She took great care of our Aussie.”

“Sandra is amazing! I have never met anyone who loves animals more than she does. I will ALWAYS use her when I need someone to watch my little baby. She is highly attentive and sends me pictures all throughout the day. Constant updates on my little one. I could not have met a much kinder soul than hers. Thank you Sandra!!!”

“Sam is such a wonderful dog lover and knew exactly what our dog Dublin is like and how to introduce him to other dogs. We didn't know this prior the drop off, but she had a few other dogs in different sizes, including her own dog, so it was wonderful for Dublin to be able to play with them and socialize. Her house has a huge fenced yard, surrounded by a woody area, which I think was perfect for Dublin. This is just a one-time boarding opportunity, as we were traveling through the area, but we'd certainly board our dog with ther again if we could.”

“Olivia was exactly who we needed for our trip to the area to visit family! She and her partner were responsive during arrival and departure, gave specific updates with photos, and were very kind. Olivia was more than willing to accommodate our request to visit with our pup but we ended up not having time. She had a fenced in yard so we knew our girl would get outdoor time whenever she needed it. I would definitely recommend Olivia and will use her again when I’m in the area.”

“Emily has taken care of my dog twice in the past month or so. Emily is superb in every way. She exceeded my requests for his care and sent me updates and photos to help reassure me that he was doing well. She is a wonderful match for my dog.”

“We booked her at the last minute and she was very flexible and helpful! She and her family took really good care of our pup. We loved the photos that she sent us of our dog playing.”

“Annette is truly an amazing dog host. She knows animal behavior so well. Her own pets are wonderful and our dog loved visiting as a guest. She is an expert with regard to introducing pets to one another. I wish he could go on a mini-vacation once a week!”

“Nat & Ally were amazing. We felt so comfortable leaving our baby June (an 80lb bernadoodle) with them. They sent pictures everyday that made us so happy to see how much love they were showing her. We will definately be repeat customers. Thank you so much Nat & Ally”

“Casey was awesome with Coda! She had a great time hanging out and running around with her dog Jojo. She’s already been sleeping most of the day just from all the fun she had there.”

“Chris and Gerry are so nice, loving, and kind. My girls felt at ease while staying with them. It helps that they only take one client at a time. If you are looking for someone to love your babies like their own, look no further. Definitely book with Chris and Gerry!”

“Extremely happy with the level of care and updates from John and Jess. They asked and followed all the care instructions specifically our dog required. Their house is spotless and their backyard is big, safe and well kept. We can travel with confidence knowing our dog is getting excellent care and company. Their dogs are friendly. We will use their services again. We highly recommend them.”

“Oliver was so loved by Svitlana and her family. I had regular updates and photos, and my dog seemed so comfortable and happy while there. Svitlana was very communicative, and I highly recommend her. We will be repeat customers for sure.”
“Robin (and her kids!) were absolutely awesome! Our two dogs were both well cared for and happy when we picked them up. We totally plan on using them to watch our furry friends next vacation and many beyond! R. Allan Ferrell”

“Jessica and her daughter are a wonderful team! We had an unexpected last minute trip and she was able to come out and meet us straight away. They both came to care for our 3 cats and 2 guinea pigs. When one cat wouldn't eat, she texted right away and worked with us to get her fed separately. They played with our babies, took care of all the feeding and cleaning, and left our house spotless - even cleaning the animals food bowls! I highly recommend Jessica for your pet sitting needs. Thank you both for taking such great care of our babies!”

“Matthew did a great job pet sitting my 2 cats! He really went the extra mile. He fed my cats, cleaned up their bowls, watered my plants, checked the water level in my ornamental fountain, kept me posted about my cats, and even alerted me about a power outage. It really gave me piece of mind knowing he was looking after my cats and keeping an eye on things.”

“Amber was incredible with my cat, Gus! She stayed with him while I was gone for a few days and sent me pictures every day! I would 100% have her stay with him again, in fact, I even referred her to my family. So that should tell you something!!”

“I booked Leilani and Jessie for the first time over thanksgiving. They came over a few days before to meet Layla and get familiar with the house. Layla is shy and they were so sweet and calm with her. I felt at ease knowing they would be checking in on her. I could tell they really know animals. By the end of the trip Layla was warming up to them nicely. I’ll definitely rebook the next time we go out of town!”

About: Although we are new to the area, we are definitely not new to caring for dogs. We recently purchased the well-known dog kennel in Smithsburg and are in the process of restoring it. Parts of the kennel are already fully functional, and we’re excited to begin welcoming dogs while we continue improving the property. It’s a place many people in the community already know, and we feel lucky to be able to carry on its history. Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with them and honestly can’t remember a time when I didn’t love being around them. That same love has followed me into adulthood. Over the years I’ve naturally become the neighborhood go-to pet sitter. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me with their pets for years, and I always care for them the same way I care for my own dogs — with patience, attention, and lots of affection. One of the things I’m most proud of is the therapy work I did with my dog. I trained and certified her as a therapy dog, and for 10 years we volunteered together in hospitals and nursing homes. That experience actually inspired my career path, and I went on to become a certified occupational therapist. My sweet therapy dog has since passed away after a long and wonderful life. She was incredibly special to me. I’m now starting that journey again with my new puppy, Merango, and hope to continue therapy work in the future. Right now I’m taking some time away from my occupational therapy work to focus on renovating and restarting the kennel. It’s something I’ve always dreamed about doing, and I’m excited to bring new life to a place that so many people in the community already know. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and dogs with medical needs, including giving medications like insulin injections. Our property has large outdoor fenced runs that give dogs plenty of space to move around and enjoy the fresh air in a quiet farm setting. injections. I’m currently focused on renovating and restoring the kennel property, which allows me to be home most of the day and provide consistent supervision and care for the dogs staying with us. We are early risers in our home and typically start the day around 7 AM with potty breaks and breakfast. Mornings are usually spent outside enjoying the property — going on walks around our 20-acre farm or spending time in the fenced runs while I do morning chores. Around lunchtime everyone, animals included, usually settles in for a quiet rest period. I check that everyone has fresh water and food if needed before nap time. In the mid-afternoon we head back outside for more activity. Depending on the dog, this may include running in the fenced fields, exploring the property on a guided walk, or simply relaxing in the fresh air. Dinner is around 6 PM, followed by a calm evening inside. We finish the day with a final potty break and check-in before bedtime around 9 PM. My goal is to give dogs a peaceful farm stay with plenty of space to move, fresh air, and a consistent routine so they feel comfortable and relaxed while they’re away from home I understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care. When I first started using Rover for my own dogs, I remember feeling nervous too. I always appreciated sitters who kept me updated, so I make a point to do the same. I’m happy to send photos and updates so you can see how your dog is doing and feel confident they’re happy and well cared for. On our property, dogs have access to spacious individual indoor/outdoor kennel runs where they can relax comfortably. We also have several large fenced areas where dogs can safely run, play, and explore. Safety is always my top priority, and dogs are supervised during outdoor time to make sure everyone stays happy and secure
“Rosa did an excellent job taking care of my boy, she took him outside on plenty of walks, fed him the exact right amount, and sent me pictures throughout the day! I would highly recommend her to anybody who needs care for their pet.”

About: I have a wide variety of experience with all sorts of animals. I’ve had large and small dogs, cats, rodents, amphibians, and lizards, I even had a pot belly pig, sheep & duck as a child. I also volunteered at a local vet when I was a teenager and gained a lot of hands on experience caring for many types of animals! I’m a stay at home mom and I homeschool my two teenage daughters. They absolutely adore animals as well. I feel this will allow me to spend a lot of one on one time with your pet. Your fur baby will be well cared for and interacted with while they’re here! (Please note that Rover doesn’t consider my children’s ages to count towards, “children being present in our home.” However, I think this information should be available to those who choose to put their pets in my care. I have a fenced in yard with plenty of space for your fur baby to run! I also have separate family room in my house where our dogs sleep at night, and that is where I would put crates if they need to be crated at any time.
“Lejune and Michael were beyond awesome! This was my first leaving my doggie with someone other than family, and it was the best experience. I loved getting pictures of my fur baby. I would def recommend booking with them!”

I have a fenced in yard that’s big enough for dogs to get some exercise. I have two kids who enjoy seeing and meeting new animals.
“Pamela did a fantastic job with Kiera today! Her knowledge And her previous work with rescues is such a bonus since she has that second sense on how dogs will react together! Kiera can be a bit standoffish with new dogs but she did excellent with Ruby, thanks to Pamela! Thank you Pamela!!”
“Charlie did amazing with my dog Zoey. We recently moved to the area and Zoey was very nervous to be at a new house and setting. Charlie understood this and adapted to her hestitant personality by just letting her set boundaries and come to him. Charlie sent daily report cards and after a few days Zoey was more Comfortable with Charlie. I will definitely use him again in the future for daycare and boarding.”
“Cheryl made me feel at ease about leaving my very anxious baby. Her system to introducing the dogs really put my mind at ease, and she sent me pictures while we were out to let me know my pup was okay. I would recommend her. Thank you Cheryl!”

“My dog loves to stay at Danny's house. This has been such a help since my doggy day care closed. Keeps me informed and sends pictures. I'd recommend him as an excellent care giver.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs, cats, bunnies and more. I love dogs so much I have ran over a mile to be able to pet one. I am in Pennsylvania June-August I will be coming back from a semester abroad and will be editing a photobook to publish. I like taking morning and night walks! I love playing with animals and taking their photo. I will set alarms for feeding times and will let them out as soon as I wake up and before I go to sleep. I will typically take them on two walks and may try to take different routes so both of us can explore. I was a softball player and love playing fetch so that will be a daily activity also if your dog allows it.

About: I've been taking care of my own animals my whole life. Neighbors, friends, and family started hiring me for pet care when I was still in high school. I love the stark difference in pet personalities and learning how each of them likes to be cared for. Examples of my past & present clientele: - A family with 7 chihuahuas of varying ages and levels of crazy - A brand new hyperactive Bernedoodle puppy whom I still care for regularly (she's 4 now!) - A sweet lab who liked long, slow walks and bananas - A moody cat who could not care less about me (I have slowly earned the blessing of giving head pats to them now) - A tortoise who inspires me to slow down and eat more greens *my home is a safe space for people and pets from all walks of life* I am available for early morning or evening walks and drop-ins during the week. I am available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday unless I have a family or social event. However, I am always open to working around my schedule and offering as much flexibility as I can - just shoot me a message! We have a large back porch and yard with a fenced area for sniffing around. If your pet requires extra exercise, we have a quiet neighborhood to walk around in. We have a dog bed in almost every room, space for you to bring a crate, or an area that can be closed off overnight if necessary or requested. There are few places in the house that the dogs don't have access to out of an abundance of safety. Otherwise, they are welcome to make themselves at home! If I care for an animal in your home, I will let you and your pet take the lead!

I treat all pets, the same in all pets the same way. I treat them inside of them myself. About: I have a strong love for animals, and have grown up with many different species my whole life. I currently have 3 cats, but I love dogs as well and hope to get one of my own someday. I have worked at multiple doggie daycare/boarding facilities and have worked at a veterinary hospital for over 4 years. My goal is to become a veterinarian someday so I can continue helping animals lifelong. I have been dogsitting and dogwalking for years but I would like to expand into having more customers around my area. I am a very responsible caretaker and do the tasks I am asked to do readily and on time. I also love to take pictures of pets so you will get lots while you’re away (if you elect so). I hope to meet you and your wonderful pets sometime soon! I graduated college over a year ago with a bachelor degree in biology and currently have some free time on my hands while continuing my education further online. I always check over the environment in which the animal is staying in beforehand to make sure there isn’t anything they could get their self into.

About: I have had dogs for the past 30 years. I am an approved foster home for a pug rescue. I have rescued several dogs! The last two years, I have been a dog walker! The dog I recently rescued was a client I walked whose mom was disabled. She needed more care than her mom could give her. We bonded from the first walk, and I knew I could be her forever home! I have a blind/deaf pug as well. I do a lot of housesitting and dogsitting it’s always a joy! My home is on an acre. I have my own business out of my home, and so I am home all day and your pet will not be left alone! I am home all day running my health coach business. Pet care will keep me busy and your animal happy..and the resident dogs will love having playmates! I do have a portion of my yard fenced in so the dogs have lots of room to run and play and be dogs. Dogs are rarely crated unless they are used to that and the owner request that they have time in their crate. I am home the majority of the time. I work from home on a part-time basis so I am with the dogs the majority of the time. When the dogs come to my home, it is like they are on their own little vacation. They have a good time playing with the other dogs and go home tired.

About: I’ve been pet sitting for over 10 years, starting in middle school and continuing through college and grad school. I have experience with dog walking, drop-in visits, overnight stays, and caring for both dogs and cats. While in school, I regularly pet sat for families in Pennsylvania and built lasting relationships through reliable, attentive care. I’ve worked with pets of all ages and sizes—including dogs with health issues who require medication, special routines, or extra attention. What sets me apart is my lifelong connection to animals. I grew up in a home with pets throughout my childhood—including 4 dogs (labs and pointers), 6 cats, and 10 bunnies—so caring for animals has always been a part of my life. I’m dependable, patient, and genuinely love making animals feel safe, happy, and cared for. I recently started a full-time role, but the great news is I only work three days a week! That means I still have plenty of availability during weekdays and weekends for drop-ins, walks, and pet sitting. I'm happy to work with your schedule and provide consistent care for your pets while you're away or at work. Feel free to reach out with any questions or requests—I’d love to help! I take safety and trust seriously and always aim to make both pets and their owners feel at ease. I care for pets in their own home to help maintain their routine and comfort, which I know is especially important for animals who may get anxious in unfamiliar environments. “Matthew is responsive, conscientious and clearly experienced in working with animals. He walks our three dogs, including managing our dog-reactive German Shepherd. We will absolutely continue working with him and consider ourselves lucky to have found such a great person to care for our animals.”

About: Ive taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. From watching the neighbors dogs to my own family pets. I will spoil them with love and attention as well as making sure their needs are met, like daily walks, playtime etc. I’m currently working Monday-Friday 8:30-4:00 pm. Weekends I’m full availability. Will actively communicate with pet parents to ensure animals needs are met. Reach out if this works out for your needs! I have a fenced yard and watch dogs as they are actively in the yard. Can do walks for active dogs, and play time. Whatever is best needed for that animal I will provide.
“Ava was absolutely fantastic! She was reliable, professional, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. From the very beginning, she was communicative, punctual, and made me feel completely at ease knowing my dog was in such caring hands. She went above and beyond by making sure my dog got plenty of exercise and attention. I highly recommend Ava to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable dog walker. I'll definitely be using her services again. Thank you, Ava, for taking such wonderful care of my pup!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was little. I can really connect with them easily! It makes me happy that your pets are taken care of! Anytime, just let me know! I take time in my schedule to go to the gym as well, but that can be moved around if anything pops up! I have a fenced yard, so for my dogs I usually get toys out and play with them for a good bit. Maybe throw in some training treats for new skills. I can walk your pets, and learn what they love doing in your home! Even if that means cuddle time too!
“We are so grateful to have found Shelby! It's such a relief to know that my pup is getting exercise and attention while I am at work all day. I highly recommend Shelby!”

“We use Sarah exclusively now and Huck loves going to her house. This stay we had a medical emergency that prevented us from making drop off. Sarah drove out of her way to pick Huck up with it being her suggestion. This was such a huge help to us. We are so grateful and thankful that we found her!!”

“Robin (and her kids!) were absolutely awesome! Our two dogs were both well cared for and happy when we picked them up. We totally plan on using them to watch our furry friends next vacation and many beyond! R. Allan Ferrell”

“Candace is amazing at giving updates of my baby and making sure he is comfortable. Being a last minute booking, Candace still took my baby in and she’s very reliable. I will continue booking with her.”

“Justin and Kacy took wonderful care of our pup! They were super flexible, responsive, and gave us great updates on Ahsoka and how she was doing while staying in their home. We would highly recommend them. I’m sure Ahsoka would love to go back again and hang out with her new dog buddies too! Thanks again!!”
