“For the first time in a long time, my family and I took a vacation out of the country. I was especially worried about our dogs as we've taken them with us whenever we've gone on a trip and they wouldn't be able to go with us this time. I found Marleny and Luis as a first time Rover user and was relieved that they were able to care for our two dogs while away. We had a meet and greet, and a few day visits leading up to the trip and all went well. The dogs were with them for 8 days and my heart was at peace knowing they were being cared for in their home. I sent rationed food, treats, beds and instructions for eye drops and daily supplements. Marleny did not hesitate and accommodated all my requests. About: I’ve grown up with animals my whole life, but cats have always held a very special place in my heart. Since I haven’t been able to have a cat of my own for a while, I’ve happily become the designated sitter for my friends’ cats—affectionately calling them my “furry nieces and nephews.” I’m the person who genuinely gets excited when a cat decides to sit next to me, follows me from room to room, or—perhaps the highest honor of all—chooses to sit in my lap. I love getting to know all of their little personalities and quirks, from the social butterflies who demand attention to the shy ones who need a little more time to feel comfortable. Last year, I also volunteered at a local animal shelter, where I cared for and walked dogs. While I loved my time there, it reminded me just how much I enjoy caring for animals and getting to know them as individuals. When I care for your cat, I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their own home. I’m happy to follow their normal routines, keep their food and water fresh, clean litter boxes, spend time playing with them, and—of course—provide as many pets and cuddles as they’re willing to accept. I’m equally happy to simply hang out with a cat who prefers quiet company. About: I have taken care of all kinds of animals since I can remember. I grew up with birds, cats, dogs, hamsters, bunnies, ferrets and fish. Though my absolute favorite are dogs! I would love to take your dog on walks, feed and water them and give them baths if needed. Tucker has skin allergies, so I’m experienced with special care routines, and Roman has focal seizures and requires medication every 12 hours, which has made me very comfortable administering meds and staying attentive to health changes. I grew up with a Miniature Schnauzer, Snuggles (14 wonderful years), and our cat, Cuddles (18 years), so caring for animals has truly been a lifelong part of who I am. I’ll never leave a pet in an unsafe situation or do anything outside of the care instructions you’ve provided. Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable knowing that someone trustworthy is looking after your pet and your home. About: I have many years of experience with animals. As a teenager I worked at a vet for about a year were I helped clean kennels, take dogs out for walks as well as feed and clean up after them. I have also had my own pets since I was very young. Including dogs and cats as well as rabbits and hamsters. I had used Rover for several years, but this time the sitter I had used previously was unavailable. Carole provides a large and safe community environment (indoor/outdoor) for the dogs. She follows best practices with meet & greets prior to booking and gradual introductions of new arrivals to limit chaos and conflict. Also, my dog had never been in a home with cats before. I had my concerns knowing my dog has a strong prey drive for wild critters like rabbit. Carole has her home set up so the cat can retreat to non-dog territory.
