About: Hi! I’m River. I was raised with cats and their kittens as a child, and have always bonded closely with them. I adopted My Own Cat promptly upon turning 18 (in 2002); Khaki was with me for 18 years, outliving his adopted brother Leo (my sister’s cat), who ended up living with me as well. I’ve also cared for my exes cat (Alli), and my son’s first cat (Lady Grey), and my current grand cats, Cas and Zizi. I am comfortable with litter box training, cleaning messes, handling kitten energy, etc. I can do light grooming (brushing fur, cleaning with wipes, applying powders, etc) and give medications. I have experience helping cats with ear, eye, gastrointestinal, and kidney problems. I typically like to do a little light housekeeping anywhere I stay; I live by the motto of “leave it better than you found it.” I also have a wide range of experience and am comfortable caring for various other pets that might need tending while you’re out. I have done lots of pet-sitting for friends and family, and I love meeting and getting to know new animal friends. For the last year I’ve work in veterinary medicine first as a technician assistant and then as a client service representative. “Blessed finally someone I can trust Eileen and Rich found me on Rover. They were looking for a sitter for there pup as their beloved long time sitter had moved. Rich came to my place with piglet for meet and greet with my 3 smalls . He shared with me how much anxiety he was having trying to find the exact right fit for piglet. I have 3 dogs. Doyle is my fear dog (He has come ALONG ways in 5 short years. He immediately ran up to Rich and put his feet on his legs so he could pet him. They watched the pack for me one day and it was the first time I had ever left Doyle with anyone and even tho I was a little nervous that Doyle would try to escape to come find me I knew they would be watching him like a hawk. Just a short time later I received a photo from Eileen comfy on the couch with all the dogs (even Doyle!) Laying on her and snuggling. But honestly, I already knew on my heart that they would care and lovey dogs almost as much me by the number of dog sitters they interviewed and even coming back for a second meet and greet just to make sure everything was going to work out. I will also add that piglet is very well behaved has excellent social skills , and over all just a well balanced dog. Says a lot about her parents! I know once you see how well cared and loved your pet is there you will not to leave them with anyone else! I am comfortable with puppy potty training, litter box training, cleaning messes, handling kitten/puppy energy, etc. I can do light grooming (brushing fur, cleaning with wipes, applying powders, etc) and give medications. (I can even do baths with the right set-up, and advanced notice.) I typically like to do a little light housekeeping anywhere I stay; I live by the motto of “leave it better than you found it.” I also have a wide range of experience and am comfortable caring for various other pets that might need tending while you’re out. In general I love all animals; when asked if I am “a dog person or a cat person,” I say, “yes.” I have done lots of pet-sitting for friends and family (including fostering for a year, to help a friend of a friend while she finished school) and I love meeting and getting to know new animal friends. I am finally joining Rover at the recommendation of many friends and family members who think caring for people’s pets is an excellent job for me. About: I've always been an animal whisperer, with animals of all type. I grew up on a farm/forest, and befriended wild animals on a regular basis, as well as our domesticated dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, goats, pigs, horses etc. Since then, I have volunteered for animal shelters, continued befriending all animals I meet, honed my skills with consciously working energy between animals/humans, even learned some animals massage. And currently have friendly dogs, cats, goats, chickens on the 62 acre farm. We also have private areas for your pet, away from other animals. We have multiple people on land, and care is upon self or 2-3 others. We allow only one inside house dog at a time and 2-3 in our shaded outdoor pens. About: I was a veterinary technician for 10 years. I have worked with every kind of animal out there at every stage of life. I switched career fields, but I’m still a animal lover who misses working with dogs. I’m currently working full time Monday-Fridays. I have hour lunches so depending on location I could do a potty break or short walk during that slot. I also get off at a decent time in the evening and have weekends completely free. Unfortunately I would not be able to do pet sitting, or walks at my home due to my dogs behavior. I have multiple years of vet assisting experience where I had to deal with lots of different dog temperaments and stressful situations. Also, I worked at a doggy daycare/pet hotel where I would administer medications, give food and water, exercise, help train, conduct behavior tests, puppy playtime, and spend my days fulfilling dogs needs while their owners were away.
