“Our dogs loved staying with Skye! They got to go on many walks, explore outside, and even sleep on the couch. Skye sent texts with photos and updates throughout the time we were away, giving me peace about how they were doing. The dogs seemed comfortable at Skye’s and I felt fine leaving my babies in her care.”

“WONDERFUL! WONDERFUL! WONDERFUL! Eduardo did a great job watching my little Maltipoo . My daughter's wedding was in Hood River. I was able to enjoy all the activities and was so relieved that my doggie was in such good hands. Received regular updates and pictures that made my weekend worry free. I will be using Eduardo again for any future needs.”

“McKenzie is the best sitter! She knows dog’s personalities and is super communicative. We love when Frank is well taken care of so that we have peace of mind when we’re out of town! Thank you!!”

“Charlie was amazing! He took so much time with our dog to make sure he felt comfortable in the space and with the other dogs. Normally, our dog is pretty nervous without us there, but he was honestly sad to leave and we’ll definitely be going back! Would highly recommend!”

“Emily was so great!! She watched our golden retriever who has a lot of energy and my dog was so tired and happy when I picked her up. Her dogs are so sweet and had so much fun with my dog, and I felt like Emily was really caring and understanding of some diet needs she has. I’ll definitely board with her again!”

“Thank you so much Brittney for taking very good care of Benny. I really appreciate the updates with photos you sent! Also thank you for the hair grooming touch up you did for his face. He looks so good! I will definitely use your service (if you are available of course) when I am back in town.”

About: Pet sitting has fallen into my lap and become a regular part of my life for the last 7 years. I love being able to spend time with so many different animals. I have had the pleasure of spending time one on one with Dogs or Cats to sitting a Great Dane, a kitty and four goats all at once. After moving back to Mt Hood, Oregon recently from Whitefish Montana I have taken a part time job working Monday - Wednesday 2:30pm - 10:30pm. I want to focus on Pet Care and am available to do so: Thursday - Sunday. I live in an apartment with a balcony. The ideal pet to stay in my home would be smaller or older and needed less space to run. I live next to a ton of quieter walking trails and can take pets out for walks as much as they need.
About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong dog lover with experience in caring for puppies and older pups. I live just outside White Salmon, WA, with easy access to scenic walking trails and a spacious yard for playtime. I’ve volunteered as a puppy raiser for a nonprofit that trains service dogs, successfully raising four pups for their important roles. During the summer, my home is pet-free as my partner and our dog travel south, meaning your furry friend will have my undivided attention. I used Rover years ago when I was on a work assignment in CA. Since then, I have been caring for foster dogs and friends' pets. I offer overnight stays at my home or house-sitting in yours, ensuring your dog stays comfortable in a familiar environment. Since I work from home, your pup will have plenty of companionship and outside breaks throughout the day. Whether they need long walks, playtime, or just some company, I’m happy to make sure they’re well cared for while you’re away. Let’s chat about how I can make your dog feel at home! I work from home, so I often have time for outside breaks and play during the day. I keep busy on the weekends recreating in the area. I'm always happy to find adventures that work your pup! I have a large, partially fenced yard for playtime and potty breaks. We allow pets on our furniture, so your rules for your pets would apply here as well. I am also happy to travel to your home to care for your pet as needed. I like to learn how pet owners choose to care for their pets so I can be as consistent as possible.
“What a wonderful spot and such a kind and gracious couple. Samantha and Colton watched our standard poodle on a last minute booking. Scout loved her stay! She puttered around the farm, played with Mosely, their sweet and cheerful aussie, and was happy relaxed girl when we picked her up. The property is spacious, safe and so cool! Samantha and Colton are in the process of developing a beautiful vineyard along the Columbia River called, The Narrows. They shared a bottle with us and it is fantastic. Samantha kindly told us about the history of the property, showed us the progress they have made thus far, and shared their future plans. I would be thrilled to leave Scout there again and hope to visit once the winery is fully up and running. A great experience all around. I highly recommend Samantha and Colton for your 4-legged famiy member. Five stars all around!”

“Jaleh was wonderful with my dog, made her feel right at home and kept us updated with a sunbathing picture everyday 🤗 I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for coverage for their beloved animal.”

“This was our pups first overnight away from his family. Katlyn was a great caregiver to our Ember and even sent us some pictures while we were away. It was also an added bonus that she had a playmate there which was Katlyns dog Luca. I think that helped her feel more at ease and comfortable. A great place to have our dog and will absolutely have her stay there again.”

“Katie is absolutely phenomenal! I'm always nervous the first time someone watches my dog, and my dog is usually quite shy, but she warmed up to Katie immediately! I guess my dog got a good vibe from her and knew she was in good care. Katie sent pictures regularly and was patient with all my questions. I will definitely leave my dog with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking!”

“Emily came to care for our young previously feral kittens shortly after we adopted them. We felt so bad leaving them but it became clear very quickly that they were in good hands. “Skye-Ann is so conscientious and thoughtful! She took great care of our cat, even administering medications. When she saw an unrelated issue in our house she took care of it right away and let us know. It was very helpful!”

“Natasha was wonderful! She checked on my barn cats over a 2 week period. There is a camera on our automatic cat feeder. I was watching the cats and suddenly a dog appeared knocking over the feeder. Natasha was able to come the next day, refill the feeder and block the dog from entering our yard. She was also flexible with her schedule when our travel plans changed. I will definitely rebook with Natasha anytime that we are out of town.”

About: I recently moved to the Gorge from Asheville, NC, and I am so excited to meet you and your pups! My deep love for animals began at a very young age. Growing up, I was surrounded by pets of all shapes and sizes -from dogs and cats to farm animals, reptiles, and birds. That lifelong passion led me into a rewarding career in animal care. I have been a full-time professional dog groomer and daycare/boarding specialist for the past 20 years. I also have experience at a veterinary emergency center. In my free time, I would volunteer to walk shelter dogs. I understand that every dog is unique. I specialize in a slow, patient approach for nervous or shy dogs who need extra reassurance, and I am highly experienced in administering necessary medications. I treat every pet like family. My very first dog, an Airedale mix, lived to be 16 and a half years old. She had a long, beautiful life that I attribute to deep love, care, and proper attention. I bring that same standard of love and dedication to every animal I meet. I look forward to meeting you! I am currently a stay at home mom and we enjoy walking and hiking every day! Your pet will be included in everything! I understand some dogs enjoy lazy days too and I’m happy to accommodate that as well. I usually begin my morning with a walk and end it with one before bed. About: I've basically been around dogs all my life and I love them dearly. I lived on a farm in Mexico for over 15 years and had my pack of 5 dogs. I enjoy playing and spending time with them, walks and talks :) I have patience for dogs like no other, their needs are my top priority. Every dog is a good dog🖤 I'm currently unemployed, so I'll have all the time in the world to take care and to have a fun time with your pup!! Walks, treats and belly rubs all day🖤 I have a fenced back yard that your pup and my pup can play in, many dog toys and of course the house to roam around in. My house isn't very small but not too big either, but its definitely safe for your pup 100%. I do walks locally, so it's safe and close to home!
“Rebecca responded quickly to all of our questions and was patient. We had never put our dog Izzie in a kennel before. The photos of their facilities gave a good sense of what the dogs were provided with inside and outside, and photos of Izzie Rebecca sent to us on the days Rebecca was caring for Izzie were fun and reassuring. Lastly, their roaming farm animals were a delight. We will kennel our dog with Rebecca whenever we are in this part of the Columbia Gorge.”

“Sam has a great property for dog sitting, fully fenced in with indoor AC available. My two dogs fully enjoyed their stay, helping with the garden and playing with her adorable pup. I would highly recommend Sam as a pet sitter. 15/10 experience!”

“Mackenzie was fantastic with our Moseley and Mochi was such a fun new friend! The pups were fast friends and had a great time together. So happy to have Makenzie in the Gorge for pup playdates that allow us some time to do things where our pooch cannot join us, all while knowing she is having as much fun as we are!”

About: Hi! I'm Becca and am Canyon’s human. He’s a red heeler I rescued 2 years ago. I’ve learned so much about dog reactivity from him and he has gained so much confidence. It’s so important to me that any new pet I meet feels safe and comfortable with me. Feel free to reach out with any questions! I’m currently in between jobs so I have a very flexible schedule. With extra notice I’m always happy to offer help or to try to find a time that does work. I ask for specific instructions for your pet so I can make them feel as comfortable and safe as possible. I do not have a yard, but I live in a safe area and have easy access to a park.
About: I'm an experienced dog sitter and former dog mom just returning to Rover and accepting new and returning clients! I have decades of experience taking care of dogs, including my own, friends', and dogs in rescues and shelters. I was the dog-walking coordinator for a dog rescue and a dog-walking volunteer for a public shelter for years. I actually grew up afraid of dogs and it was a big deal for me to start volunteering to walk strange dogs; it helped build my confidence, and I was -- and still am -- very attuned to what's going on with the creature at the other end of the leash. I believe every dog has unique needs and temperament and honor these while they're in my care to ensure they feel as secure and safe as possible. DOG SITTING AND BOARDING: I work from home, so your dog will get lots of attention and potty breaks. Your dog is welcome to join me on the couch or lie at my feet for regular pets, or chill in another room in or out of a crate. Whatever will make your dog feel most at ease while you're away. I recently lost my own 15-year-old dog, so your pup will be my sole focus (and will get lots of love and care). I have a fully fenced yard at my home for potty breaks (separate from walks/hikes). If you don't have a fully fenced yard at your home, it's no problem to take your dog for leashed potty walks as frequently as necessary.

About: I’ve grown up with animals my whole life ranging from my 10 pound puggle to my 108 pound malamute! I have had quite a few dogs growing up and currently house sit/dog sit for family friends. I currently have my cat Mochi of whom I adore! I am just moving to the area so my schedule at the moment is going to be completely open until I start work in Hood River. I make sure that the animals themselves are having a good time and the space that we use looks the same or nicer than when we got there! I love building memories with the animals that will keep them in good spirits until their parents get home
About: I currently have a pup of my own who I have been training. She still has work to do. I have spent years prior to that being the house/animal sitter back home in West Virginia. I work part time. I am a teacher during the school year. In the summer I just work 5 hours 2 days a week at a local winery. I usually walk/bike my dog every morning before work. On days I do not, I try to get her out on a longer walk or swim when the weather is really hot. I have a very flexible schedule in the summer to fit in other animals. I am pretty vigilant when it comes to my own dog. I try to make sure she gets plenty of exercise. She needs it. I love getting her socialized with older and younger dogs. I have even taken my pup to school with me to socialize best with my students are blind. I would follow the care needs set forth by the dog/cat parents. Please be sure to give special instructions if needed.

About: I’m a professional pet care provider with 8+ years of hands-on experience working with animals. My background includes professional pet sitting, working as a technician with a reputable dog training company, and working with animals in a local animal-care setting. Through my experience, I’ve cared for dogs and cats with a wide range of personalities, energy levels, needs, and quirks—including shy, sensitive, fearful, and high-energy pets. I’m comfortable with everything from everyday routines and enrichment to medication administration and following detailed care instructions. I believe great pet care is about more than simply checking boxes. I take the time to understand each pet as an individual and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their people are away. Pet care is a major part of my daily and weekly routine! I run my own professional pet care business, so caring for animals is something I’ve intentionally built my schedule around. I’m used to planning my days around pets’ individual routines, including morning and evening visits, walks, feeding schedules, medication, playtime, and plenty of one-on-one attention. I carefully manage my bookings so I can give each client the time and attention they deserve rather than overbooking myself. My schedule also gives me flexibility to accommodate different routines and pets who may need a little extra patience or consistency. When caring for pets in their home, I do my best to keep their normal routine as consistent as possible. I follow each pet’s feeding, potty, walking, medication, and bedtime routines closely and make sure they receive plenty of attention and enrichment throughout my visit. I’m respectful of every client’s home and treat it as I would my own. I’m careful about security, cleanliness, and leaving things the way I found them. Most importantly, I meet pets where they’re at. Some pets want to play and be constantly engaged, while others need space and a slower approach. I’m especially comfortable working with shy or sensitive pets and never force interaction before they’re ready.

Dogs will receive playtime, walks, and plenty of attention during their stay. I take the time to learn each dog’s personality, energy level, and individual needs to ensure a positive daycare experience. For boarding and daycare services, I require owners to complete an online questionnaire that contains screening questions about their pets. This questionnaire helps me determine whether my home is a good fit for everyone involved. I also offer solo boarding and daycare. Solo care means that there will be no other animals in my home during your booking, allowing your pets to receive my full, undivided attention. I require a minimum of six month’s advance notice for solo care. Solo boarding starts at $300/night for the first pet, +$10/night for each additional dog, and +$5/night for each additional cat.

About: We are a married couple that work from home and have a friendly 6 year old golden retriever and a 3 year old Collie Mix. We have decided to host one dog (family) at a time. We are home bodies and our pups love having company. When you book with us feel safe knowing your dog will be treated as part of the family and monitored for safety. We both grew up with family dogs and other pets and we understand the scary feeling of boarding your dog. We are happy to meet and answer any questions before taking in your dog. We will update you daily (at a minimum) of how they are doing, including sending pictures of course. As mentioned, we work from home. Our schedules are very flexible. When we book a stay we plan on staying home and playing with the dogs. We have a fully fenced backyard where our pups love to roam and play. Your dog will be part of the family and free to roam the house and yard as they please.
