Many of the pictures showed Stephanie being very patient with my cat demanding her full attention or of Stephanie brushing Addy. I am so glad Addy loved Stephanie instantly. About: I was born into a family of German Shepherd lovers, and grew up primarily taking care of our German Shepherds until about 10 years old when we also adopted cats and labradors. Once I graduated college, I adopted an 8 week old Alaskan malamute, who I cared for his entire 11 years of life until he passed just recently in January. I am not ready to adopt again, but am missing the presence of dogs in my life and looking to fill that space by helping friends, family, neighbors and members of the community with their dog care needs. I am experienced with puppies, high maintenance animals, and especially with large breeds (my boy was 150lbs at a healthy weight and required at least 5 miles of exercise a day). I am kind, caring, uniquely experienced, energetic and reliable. Due to my experience, I know all too well what it feels like to have to find reliable, safe, trusted care for a large, high maintenance, and/or misunderstood breed - I know that I can definitely offer that unique service in this arena. About: Dogs have been a part of my life for more than 15 years, and caring for them is something I’ve always felt naturally connected to. I’ve raised my own dogs, supported pups with all kinds of personalities and needs, and spent several years as a dog foster — giving dogs a safe, loving place to land while they waited for their forever homes. That experience taught me how to read canine behavior, build trust quickly, and create a calm, structured environment where dogs feel secure. Whether it’s a high‑energy dog who loves adventure or a shy pup who needs patience and reassurance, I’m comfortable meeting them exactly where they are. My home is set up with ramps and steps to help small dogs and mobility‑challenged pups move around safely and comfortably along with a stroller for long neighborhood walks. My goal as a sitter is simple: keep your dog happy, safe, and relaxed while you’re away, and give you complete peace of mind knowing they’re in caring hands. I work from home. Mid-day walks at lunch time everyday unless weather is hot, then early morning walks. Weekends usually allow for longer walks and the occasional hiking adventure. I like taking my pups to the Jenkins Estate. It is heavily wooded and not usually busy. Making it easy to walk with multiple dogs. I have a fenced in backyard that can be segmented into two if needed. A doggy door for medium sized pups for quick and easy access. If your pup is not familiar with one, I will work on some simple training to encourage and get them use to using one. Plenty of doggy toys for aggressive/heavy chewers. Nylabones, kongs, rubber toys and rope. Sorry, no fluffy/squeaky toys, my oldest can destroy the toughest in under 6 minutes. Home is air conditioned. Floors are waterproof vinyl plank flooring, and all couches and beds are covered with waterproof blankets incase of any accidents or simply messy dogs. My oldest pup likes to take dirt baths much to my chagrin. There is a small kiddie pool available for those hot days. Two crates are available for any pups that may need it. And plenty of baby gates to segment/separate as needed. My house has been puppy proofed once before, and can be if requested. And additional third-party insurance to cover any emergencies.

About: As an animal lover, I'd consider myself very experienced with animals of all kinds. I grew up with dogs, cats, birds, and horses. Before losing him in the fall of 2023, I raised and cared for my dog, Chaps, for 12 years. It was a great 12 years, and I loved spending time training him. "Sit" and "down" are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the tricks Chaps could do. I am very comfortable with pets of all sizes. About: I have been an animal lover since a young age, and have been caring for dogs since 2011. I have experience with both puppies and senior dogs, and all ages in between. I have experience in training my own dogs and in practicing commands as asked when puppy-sitting. I've even trained my cat to give high-fives! I also have experience in administering medication, both oral meds as well as eyedrops. Our 14 year old labradoodle gets eyedrops twice daily, which I administer. I bond easily with animals and love dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes! I love getting to know animals, and have a knack for bonding with anxious, shy animals. I am also okay with brushing and bathing, etc., as asked if needed. I am typically available all day on the weekends and most Tuesdays and Thursdays. I may have time for quick home visits for potty breaks during lunch on these days, if needed. I am happy to spend quiet time with pets who are more mellow, or to spend time playing or walking with energetic, younger dogs if that suits them best. I typically observe the dog's behavior and notes from the owner when deciding what to do- are they looking tired and calm? Are they a bit riled up and could use a playtime or a walk? I’ve stayed in homes of family friend dog owners for a few years now, mostly just taking care of the dogs and going on walks, as well as watering plants when needed. “Steve was so great with our dog! Our big pup has not had much dog socializing, and we were a little nervous how this would all work out with his dogs. He was confident and put us at ease with his care. His own dogs were great. He regularly sent photos, which were so awesome! We could tell our fella was having a good time. He responded quickly every time we communicated. He is relaxed and confident about what he does. Thank you so much! Will most definitely use him again.”
