“We had a very important family trip come up and no one to leave our Papillon (Shilo) with. She had previously only stayed with friends and definitely no kennels. I was desperate to find a sitter which led me to the internet. I discovered Rover! It was there I found the perfect match for our baby! Valorie and Ryan were so welcoming, their home was beautiful and we were so relieved to meet them and introduce Shilo to them prior to booking her stay. We were a bit nervous when we left but Valorie sent pictures that validated Shilo was a happy puppy! From Shilo's reaction when we picked her up she was right at home with them which confirmed we had made the right choice in sitters. About: When I was in high school, I used to volunteer at an animal shelter, which sparked my love for animals. While I mainly worked with cats and dogs I don’t have a preference. I’m work from home 2 1/2 weeks a month. It can get a little boring, so I wanted some companionship. That is usually when I’ll be doing Rover. Working from home allows me to pay a lot of attention to whatever furry friend I have. I also enjoy long walks outside so I would spend a lot of time outdoors.
“My dachshund, Xena, stayed with Laura while my family and I went to Colorado for eight days. I was nervous about leaving her, because I had never been away from her for so long. Laura was good to frequently text photos and let me know how Xena was getting along. Xena always looked relaxed and like she was having fun. When we came to pick her up, Xena seemed excited and happy to see us but not overly so. I think Laura and her little pug, Kevin, had become like a second family to Xena! About: I worked at an animal shelter on both the shelter and clinic sides with cats and dogs, though I mainly focused on the cat room. I started out on the shelter side cleaning and doing adoptions and ended in the clinic on the surgical team so I've seen a bit of everything. I have two cats of my own and have had many foster cats. While I've never owned any dogs of my own, I've known plenty of people with them and most of them loved me and the rest at worst just ignored me. I currently work at Amazon and have a flex schedule, meaning I make my own schedule every week. I usually just work weekends since there's less traffic and almost never do a full 10 hour day. I can schedule weekdays if weekends are needed for pets though. I have a dedicated room just for other cats that aren't mine. Just got a new cat tree and covered bed for it and have various toys so they don't get overly bored. I can let them out to roam the house when I'm home if allowed.

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a little kid, and they’ve always been under the most perfect love and care for so long. I also always make sure they are always happy and beyond. I take good care of my 4 cats in my home, by spending time with them, feeding them, playing with them, giving them love and affection, as well. I’ve also taken good care of my 2 dogs throughout most of my life before they passed away recently. I’d always play with them, make sure they stayed well fed, and I always spent a lot of time with them, making sure they’re fine. I would also dog-sit my friends’s dogs and my mom’s friend’s 2 dogs a lot as a teenager growing up, which I still sometimes do to this day. Valorie and Ryan were so welcoming, their home was beautiful and we were so relieved to meet them and introduce Shilo to them prior to booking her stay.
