About: I have always had pets . I grew up helping my mother groom and take care of dogs. I would do anything for an animal. I am available all 24/7 everyday. I am willing to work any day of the week. I am availability because this is my only job, and I am passionate. I have been lucky enough to be raised with dogs my entire life. My family were breeders for standard poodles at one point, which was amazing to watch and learn about. I am no stranger to special needs, administering meds, able to provide short term care until help arrives. I love all dog breeds equally and will treat your dog like my own. This is my passion. I have 2 guest rooms that can be turned into private doggo apartments. If your pets need exercise I can provide. If they need relaxation, I love cuddles on the couch. We have crates of all sizes, beds for any size dog, dog gates for stairs, enough rooms to spread out and separate if needed, and live minutes away from a fenced in dog park. We live 3 minutes from 2 vet clinics and we use them for our own dogs. We have security cameras in the house with 2 way speakers if we need to step out for any reason. We are happy to share our dogs food but would prefer food is delivered with the dog for stays. I know boarding places can be scary and stressful for a lot of dogs, and my goal is to provide a reliable, safe, peaceful, fun, and loving environment while you are away. PLEASE READ :) Due to the fact that I have 2 small children, I cannot under any circumstances accept: -Dogs that have never been around children -Dogs that have any specific aggression (towards food, toys, other dogs, etc.) -Pit Bulls/Rottweilers. I realize this is controversial and maybe even unfair, and If I didn’t have small children this would not be an issue, but my kids come first and I have to be selective to protect them. Being that we are caring for dogs we have never met, I cannot take the risk for breeds that could possibly do extensively harmful damage to them in a worst case scenario situation. Again, I love all dogs/breeds and realize these breeds are normally the sweetest dogs, I am just mitigating any and all risk as a protective Mama. I am currently a stay-at-home Mom! I am home every day with the occasional runs to drop my son off at preschool, or attend my own appointments that come up/occasional errands. Although I am home most of the day, I cannot accept dogs that have separation anxiety, as I do have weekly errands/school drop offs/grocery pickups etc. that take me away from the home for a small amount of time. I live in a very peaceful and quiet neighborhood. I have a partially fenced in yard, but I would not be taking any dogs out without a leash. My back yard is hidden away from the main street and is great for taking dogs out. Rest assured they will have lots of potty breaks and sniffing outside breaks. We are pretty chill here! Once the weather warms up, walks are definitely in the daily schedule if wanted/needed... or just some sunbathing outside for the dogs who love a nap in the sunshine.

About: I’ve had a fur companion all of my life! I’ve successfully raised and trained five dogs from puppies and I have experience with rescue pups who may not feel entirely comfortable in their new environment. I’ve experienced small and large breeds alike, with my current pup being a King Cavalier Spaniel. Goose’s cousins who we see weekly are two Golden retrievers and one rescue mix. I’m able to be flexible or rigid when it comes to your pets schedule, and am knowledgeable in special diets, fresh pet food, administering meds if needed. I have the luxury of working from home and creating my own schedule which makes my days very flexible! I currently can accept pets for boarding, play dates or walks Sunday through Thursday, 9:30am to 10pm. My dog is allowed to be on all furniture and sleep in the bed and your pet would be permitted to as well if that is your preference! Goose and I take several walks a day and love to take day trips to various area dog parks and hiking trails or enjoy a lazy afternoon on the couch.

About: Hello! My name is Tabatha Garman, I am the sole owner and operator of Special Paws Pet Care and a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). As a veterinary technician, I play the nurse role of the veterinary team. I graduated from Kent State University with my Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology in May of 2021 and am currently pursuing my Bachelor's of Integrated Studies focused in animal behavior. While in school for my technician license, I gained various hands-on skills with a variety of animals, from dogs and cats to birds, horses, snakes, and much more. As previously mentioned, I have a vast range of experience with different species from small pocket pets and reptiles to large and farm animals. I love working with nearly any species, especially pigs and cows! My medication administration skills are just as vast, including giving various types of injections and fluids, oral pill and liquid administration, topical applications, etc. Any pets with special needs are assured to be taken care of! Specializing in animal behavior, those with unique personalities or who are a bit grumpy or naturally prefer alone time are some of my favorite to work with. I love working to understand them and win them over and am happy to try to work with any type of disposition or behavioral challenges. No job is too big or small. Whether you have a pet that needs daily medication, help getting around, and extra special care, or just want to feel comforted knowing that your furry family member is in great hands, I am happy to care for any and all of them. I am currently dedicating my time to in-home pet care while going to school full-time online, so I am free to fit your pet into my schedule however you may need. While I do personalize my schedule to fit your pet specifically, my typical day is scheduled like this and changed as needed, just to give you a better idea of your pet's time with me: When I arrive, I always spend time making sure your pet is happy, comfortable, and has everything they need. When staying with them overnight, I will keep them company until morning, make sure they have everything they need and get some pets or playtime in, then I will leave as needed to tend to any other appointments, making sure to return to check-in and spend time with them at minimum every 3-4 hours, unless more frequently is needed. Whether you just need a daily check in and play time for your cat while you're away, or if you need someone to take your pup out every couple of hours along with walks and lots of play time, or even if you have an older pup who can't really spend time alone at all, we can definitely make a plan to suit your family purrr-fectly. Your pet's safety is always my top priority. Whether at home, in the car, at the vet, out for a walk, or at the park, I am always extremely diligent to make sure your pet stays safe and sound. I always use doggy seatbelts or enclosures when driving, reflective strips and flashlights at night, ramps and manual assistance for mobility-challenged pups, predator-deterrent to protect them from harm, and vet-approved chews or boredom busters to make sure your pup is happier and healthier when you arrive back home. Out of an abundance of caution, I typically do not have pets I'm watching interact with other pets I'm unfamiliar with (ie: no communal dog parks). In the case that anything does happen while I am with them, I am trained on the safest and most effective way to stop a dog fight, as well as being trained in CPR, emergency triage and response, and homeostatic stabilization. I also always have a list of the nearest emergency hospitals on hand should they ever be needed. I strive to follow all pet-parent's wants and needs for their pets, including whatever training or rules you may have for your pet while they are in my care (crating, treats, toys, etc).
