About: I’ve owned a dog my entire adulthood, my miniature schnauzer that we rescued lived to be 15 & we had her 12 of those years. My current dog is a certified therapy dog that works with me. I did the training with her. I have a lot of flexibility with my work schedule & being home. If I’m at work my spouse is home. So one of us are usually home at all times. We have a friendly poodle mix & an enclosed/fenced in yard with a privacy fence. They will have free range of the house & frequent outdoor breaks for exercise. :)

“Kristen came in clutch! We made a last-minute decision to extend our vacation and booked an Airbnb in the small town of Cadiz where sitter selection was sparse. Kristen responded to my request immediately and was willing to drive 30 minutes after work to take care of Bogey. The visit was flawless, she followed directions perfectly, and we returned to a happy dog. His bully looks were no issue for her either. I also appreciated the pics she sent. We felt comfortable leaving his care in her hands and would do so again. Maybe with more than 7 hours notice next time ?”

About: I am deaf, so I am able to bond with pets more because they cannot communicate their needs with humans. I am likewise, so I hope to communicate with gestures as they may did. I am studying in a certificate program, so that shouldn’t be a problem. I will work during the workdays, and I can be available during weekends. I have two kittens and three koi fishes. They are fed once in the mornings or evenings. I cuddle them for some time but left them to wander wherever their curiosity attracted them. My cats like to sit on my chest or necks when they wished to, but I left them to their desires when they want to.

I ask lots of questions upfront and pay close attention to the small stuff: think feeding times, meds, favorite routes, comfort items, quirks, fears, or behaviors, because those details are what make a dog feel secure. I'd rather over-communicate than guess. I lived with and cared for a reactive dog for 13 years, so I know firsthand what it takes to help an anxious dog feel safe, and how to prevent conflict in the first place. All my dogs have been rescues, and I have a soft spot for dogs who need extra patience to warm up. I'm not a certified trainer, but I've spent years learning dog training, body language, and enrichment, and every interaction is rooted in positive reinforcement. I will require a meet and greet with your pet in advance of the first booking so they can become familiar with me, and so I can become familiar with their routine and needs. My schedule gives me plenty of flexibility to be present for your dog, whether that's extra walks, playtime, or just being around for company, and I'm happy to talk through what kind of availability works best for your pet! I work from home which allows me the flexibility to prioritize pet care in a way I wouldn’t be able to with a traditional office. This gives me the ability to keep anxious dogs company, breaks for play time, medication, cuddles or walks when they are needed, not when they can be fit in. I create a calm, secure environment where pets feel safe and comfortable. Whether in my home or theirs, I work on building trust by moving at each pet’s pace and honoring their boundaries. Safety is always my top priority, I supervise pets closely, follow all instructions carefully, and adapt to their unique needs. I keep spaces clean, hazard-free, and ensure pets have fresh water, proper food, and quiet resting spots. For reactive or anxious pets, I use gentle, low stress handling & positive reinforcement or redirecting to help them feel calm and supported. About: Dogs have always been a part of my family. Later in life, I became a cat mom. I currently have a Rottweiler and a torbie cat. These two are my world.
