This is our first time leaving are dog with a sitter and the first time our dog was left with someone he didn't know. We took our dog prior to leaving and met Rikki and seen where he would be staying. She has the perfect space for any animal. Huge fenced in back yard which I know our dog loved. She texted us a few times to let us know how he was doing which was great. Overall Rikki made us at ease and we didn't need to worry about our fur baby. About: I have experience with big dogs to small ones. I’ve house trained a puppy in the past. I have 2 cats that I take care of on a daily, who has to have medical treatment and separate feeding times. I’m very caring with treating animals like I would treat my own. I’m currently working part time and looking for some work on my days off that will help my mental health since I love animals they give so much serotonin being around them. My back yard is hidden away from the main street and is great for taking dogs out. Rest assured they will have lots of potty breaks and sniffing outside breaks. We are pretty chill here! Once the weather warms up, walks are definitely in the daily schedule if wanted/needed... or just some sunbathing outside for the dogs who love a nap in the sunshine.

About: I've had dogs growing up, five of them being German shepherds and the other four being a lab and two mutts and a dachshund, and we've had tons of cats. We currently have two German shepherds and I walk them a ton and I spend a lot of time taking care of them, and then we have a dachshund who I just rescued from the place I work at. The place I worked at does dog boarding/daycare/training. I was a kennel tech so I just took care of all the boarding and daycare doggies. And on the weekends I also took care of all the training dogs when/if the trainers were away. I worked there for over year and loved it, only leaving because I started college and moved away. I have had to deal with so many different dogs and their personalities and I've definitely learned to have a ton of patience with the job. I have been working in general since I was 14. I started at some neighbouring farms, doing farm work so I could ride their horses and earn some money. I then did a couple restaurant jobs and then found the place I currently work at. I have done dog sitting and cat sitting before many times, sometimes for family or friends of family who I don't know but I am happy to help out. The most I have dealt with at one time was seven dogs in total. I have watched people's dogs get trained while at work and I have been trained to use an e-collar and a prong collar so I am able to use those correctly! As a veterinary technician, I play the nurse role of the veterinary team. I graduated from Kent State University with my Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology in May of 2021 and am currently pursuing my Bachelor's of Integrated Studies focused in animal behavior. While in school for my technician license, I gained various hands-on skills with a variety of animals, from dogs and cats to birds, horses, snakes, and much more. Outside of school, I have trained at numerous veterinary hospitals and gained vital experience in CPR and emergency response. My personal experience caring for animals expands far beyond my education and career, as I have cared for my own, family's, and friend's pets my entire life. As previously mentioned, I have a vast range of experience with different species from small pocket pets and reptiles to large and farm animals. I love working with nearly any species, especially pigs and cows! My medication administration skills are just as vast, including giving various types of injections and fluids, oral pill and liquid administration, topical applications, etc. Any pets with special needs are assured to be taken care of! Specializing in animal behavior, those with unique personalities or who are a bit grumpy or naturally prefer alone time are some of my favorite to work with. I love working to understand them and win them over and am happy to try to work with any type of disposition or behavioral challenges. No job is too big or small. Whether you have a pet that needs daily medication, help getting around, and extra special care, or just want to feel comforted knowing that your furry family member is in great hands, I am happy to care for any and all of them. I am currently dedicating my time to in-home pet care while going to school full-time online, so I am free to fit your pet into my schedule however you may need. While I do personalize my schedule to fit your pet specifically, my typical day is scheduled like this and changed as needed, just to give you a better idea of your pet's time with me: When I arrive, I always spend time making sure your pet is happy, comfortable, and has everything they need. When staying with them overnight, I will keep them company until morning, make sure they have everything they need and get some pets or playtime in, then I will leave as needed to tend to any other appointments, making sure to return to check-in and spend time with them at minimum every 3-4 hours, unless more frequently is needed. Whether you just need a daily check in and play time for your cat while you're away, or if you need someone to take your pup out every couple of hours along with walks and lots of play time, or even if you have an older pup who can't really spend time alone at all, we can definitely make a plan to suit your family purrr-fectly. Your pet's safety is always my top priority. Whether at home, in the car, at the vet, out for a walk, or at the park, I am always extremely diligent to make sure your pet stays safe and sound. I always use doggy seatbelts or enclosures when driving, reflective strips and flashlights at night, ramps and manual assistance for mobility-challenged pups, predator-deterrent to protect them from harm, and vet-approved chews or boredom busters to make sure your pup is happier and healthier when you arrive back home. Out of an abundance of caution, I typically do not have pets I'm watching interact with other pets I'm unfamiliar with (ie: no communal dog parks). In the case that anything does happen while I am with them, I am trained on the safest and most effective way to stop a dog fight, as well as being trained in CPR, emergency triage and response, and homeostatic stabilization. I also always have a list of the nearest emergency hospitals on hand should they ever be needed. I strive to follow all pet-parent's wants and needs for their pets, including whatever training or rules you may have for your pet while they are in my care (crating, treats, toys, etc). Whether your pup needs a fun walk, drop-in visit, doggie daycare, boarding, overnight care, or simply some extra companionship, I’ll treat them like one of my own. I am Pet CPR and First Aid certified, giving you added peace of mind while your furry family member is in my care. I also have experience administering medications, providing basic training reinforcement, and caring for senior dogs and pets with special needs. I welcome dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. Communication is very important to me, so you’ll receive regular updates, photos, and messages throughout your pet’s stay so you always know how they’re doing. My home features a secure fenced yard with plenty of room to run, play, explore, and relax. Located on a quiet dead-end road, it’s a peaceful and safe environment where your dog can feel comfortable and at home. If your pet is happiest in their own surroundings, I’m also happy to provide care in your home. Maintaining your dog’s normal routine helps reduce stress and separation anxiety while giving you peace of mind that they’re receiving the same love and attention they get every day. Your pets aren’t just clients—they’re family, and they’ll always be treated with the same love, patience, and care I’d give my own. I am currently working from home and my availability is very flexible. I can assure that your furbaby (s) is in the best hands and I prioritize their needs above my own I have a fenced in yard with shelter and water. I live on a dead end road so very quiet and safe. Your furbabies will have fun running and playing outdoors and indoors! If you would rather me come to your home, I’m familiar with taking care of other dogs in the safety of their current environment including over night stays!
