I've had critters to love and care for since I can remember - all kinds: dogs, cats, a pony, ducks, chickens, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs and fish. I worked for a vet for several years, was on the Board of my local SPCA and have rescued 3 dogs and a cat as part of our family in the past 15 years. Now our empty nest home is pretty quiet but I am always ready to love some more! I started pet sitting for friends and discovered how fulfilling it can be, so I am more than ready to care for your fur baby too. I am at home full time now and have the whole day to tailor to the needs of the critters I care for, so even special needs are not usually a problem. I am an avid photographer and will happily send photo updates regularly. OH, and I go by LOLLY (a nickname since I was a toddler). I have a large fenced yard for off-leash, supervised play time and live in a forest with acres of trails for leashed walks. I have one cat at home and aim to board only ONE DOG AT A TIME (or two if they are housemates already). Your pet will stay inside my home which is a peaceful and safe environment, no small children, quiet neighbours and a husband who loves to give free belly rubs! Home 24/7 so am able to be with your pet all day and night which is especially important for little ones who aren't used to being away from home. We have a large fully fenced and large back yard in a forest-like setting and miles of trails for leash walks. About: What's a life without dogs? My fiance and I took this very seriously and life has quite literally gone to the dogs. We have designed everything in our lives to revolve around ours and our clients dogs from our home to my SUV purchased with dog transportation in mind. I've had pets my entire life and have always aspired to have a career involving pets, and while I loved being a technician the hours made me feel as if my own pets weren't getting the attention that they needed. Pet sitting has allowed me to spend time with my pets and my clients pets full time. About: I have taken care of pets since I was a child. We groom our cocker spaniels. If you want your dog bathed or groomed we can provide the service for an additional fee. Your dog will be loved and have playmates while you are away. My husband Marcus and I will feed and walk your pet. Walking is usually 1 time a day unless other instructions are given. We had never left our furry baby with anyone, but as soon as we met Amy, noticed her loving and professional approach and then the amazing facilities (very clean by the way, with organized purposeful defined areas) we were just hooked with her whole concept in pet sitting!!! Amy maintained continuos communication with us, throughout the 2 days she had our pup via texts and emails. She kept us informed on how Benji was doing, sending us multiple pictures she would take throughout the day. My pup had a camp/resort level experience with her and made new friends with very friendly doggies she so perfectly paired him with!! I loved the detailed Rover card at the end of each day with a summary on how my pet did each day including things like how many times he went potty!! I wish there was an Amy K in each town. Pets would be happy away from home and families would know without a doubt that they are safe and cognitively stimulated ( lots of time to play, be loved by his sitter and even time to 3cplore nature...)!! We said by and Amy gave my a card with some beautiful printed pictures and very kind words written by her own hand saying how much she enjoyed having my pup with her. You are so special Amy!!! I noticed that every time I used a kennel service for our fur baby, our dog would get so scared, stress shed, nervous/anxiety, she would not eat, different times she caught kennel cough (which meant more vet bills), and our dog was definitely unhappy with the small kennel space surrounded by other upset loud barking pups/dogs/animals! (Yes, I have a small dog but our house is big enough to have another dog/cat/pet around . I can gate, and keep my dog separate if need) Your pet will be taken out for a run or walk at least 4x a day (usually 4-9 times with pictures)! Schedule: I take your/our dog out first thing in the morning, break, lunch, then around 3-4pm, around/after dinner time, and right before bedtime too ( update you with photos)! I will spend time with your dog/cat/pet. I will sit with, read to, massage, clean, comb, feed and pet (constantly check on, if they don’t want to be disturbed)! Even while I read to my kids, homeschool or while we watch tv at night. And my dog will be gated, separated, away from your dog/pet when we are out and when requested. Our dog is up to date with all shots, vet visits, and takes medication for tick/flee, heart worms. We give our dog a shower once every other week and when she gets muddy. I personally love the older pups as I have a 18 year old Jack Russel myself. Im currently working part time at a doggy boarding facility but the hours just aren’t keeping me afloat. About: What's a life without dogs? My fiance and I took this very seriously and life has quite literally gone to the dogs. Most of my friends called my house a "zoo" growing up because of the wide range of animals we had around the house, from puppies to snakes to pigs- we had it all. I’ve always had a huge amount of love for animals so I never had any problem doing so. Fast forward 5 years later my parents began breeding French bulldogs. My siblings and I had a lot of responsibility on our hands are far as feeding them, bathing, keeping them groomed, making sure they’re up to date on shots and etc. I currently work from home so that’s enables me with plenty of free time to walk, play with/take to the park, and feed your lovely animals! In my home my dog is crate trained. I do have a crate for my puppy for if friends come over and are not comfortable with him I can put him away for a few hours. I prefer all animals be crate trained , but only go to the crate if they would like to do so. I do not mind dogs walking around my house. I have a puppy of my own so every morning I get up and take my puppy on a 30 minute walk as well as every evening once I get home from work. I have an animal friendly house so I usually let pups/kittys run around the house as long as they’ve been fed and taken out for a potty break.
