“Angela was amazing. She kept us up to date with daily messages and was very caring for Aussie. He was a little stressed but she took it in stride and was amazing. Would recommend and will use again!!”

“Tracy cared for my 2 cats for 8 nights. They fight a lot at home and I explained the situation to Tracy. She has worked with them and also gave us few pointers. Back home, they still fight but not that ferociously. Thanks Tracy!”

“We literally couldn’t have found a better sitter for our dogs. Holly and her husband were absolutely wonderful! She wrote me every morning and evening with updates, pictures, and videos of our dogs. They were so happy to be there. She was so kind and patient with them. Even went out of her way to throw a birthday doggie birthday party. Will definitely book again next time we go out of town”

“We are extremely pleased with the care that Laura offered for our Bailey. Laura communicated with us during Bailey’s stay with her providing us with peace of mind that Bailey was in good hands and doing well. We definitely would love to use her again and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.”

“Becky made me feel very comfortable leaving my 1 year old pup for an overnight stay. She was very welcoming and Arlo was clearly loved during his stay. She provided lots of updates/ pictures (which put me at ease)... I recommend Becky and will be bringing Arlo back for upcoming stays!”

“Carrie and her husband took excellent care of my almost 16 year old pug. I haven’t left her with anyone else in a very long time so was a little nervous, for both her and the sitter. She kept me updated with texts and pictures and was told she was just fine. I’m hoping she can go there again when I need overnight stays.”

“Debbie was amazing! She was in constant contact with us, and proved regular updates and photos of our Zac playing and having a blast. Super caring and very sweet, she provided a fun and loving environment for Zac that a normal kennel could not match. I would absolutly reccomend her again, and will be setting up future play dates for Zac and Freya. Thank you Debbie!”

“All the Stars!!! This was our dogs first stay using Rover with Jenna and we couldn't be more pleased! Someone who cares for our pup like it was their own with daily pictures and updates! Penny had the best time playing with Stitch and followed good girl rules while she was there. We appreciate Jenna opening her home to our Doggo and taking the best care of her while we were away. Thank you isn't enough for taking such good care of our fur baby!”

“Ashley and her beautiful family welcomed Thelma into their home as one of their own, and that is the best thing a dog can ask for. Thelma was clearly very loved during her stay and had a wonderful time.”

“I highly recommend Tia D as a dog sitter! From the moment I left my pup in her care, I felt confident that they were in great hands. Tia’s communication was top-notch! she kept me updated throughout the entire stay with regular messages and plenty of adorable photos that brightened my day. It was clear my dog was happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which put my mind at ease. Tia’s attention to detail and genuine love for animals truly set her apart. She made sure my pet’s need were met perfectly and was always available for any questions or updates I needed. I could tell she went the extra mile to make my pup feel comfortable and loved. Her professionalism and warmth made the experience fantastic from start to finish. If you’re looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative dog sitter, book with Tia D. You won’t be disappointed – I loved the experience and so did my dog :)”

“After our dog boarding situation fell through for the week of Christmas, I stumbled upon Matthew and Christie (and their kids) on Rover. Not only were they able to accommodate our last minute reservation, but they were incredibly flexible when a million things went wrong on the tail end of our trip causing delay after delay. All that was awesome, but mostly it was their care and love for our dog (who’s truly the baby of our family and we are all just head over heels for) that was apparent and left us feeling completely at ease. We will absolutely be hitting them up again! We are so grateful to have stumbled upon such a caring loving family to care for our pup when we go out of town.”

“Angel is an absolute star. She truly went above and beyond to take care of our girl Fern, and we felt so comfortable leaving her in such good hands. She was extremely communicative, extraordinarily friendly, was very flexible and even went to far as to give us a sweet goodie bag and bathe our dog before sending her home. We will 100% be using her services in the future when we’re in the area. Thank you so so much, Angel.”

“A wonderfully sweet and caring sitter who did a magnificent job taking care of my senior dog. She is very mature and professional. She was conscientious of my senior dogs limitations but still kept her active and engaged. She expressed initiative in helping out with my furbaby's care that wasn't anticipated was sooo appreciated. Would recommend her to everyone, and will definitely use her every future needs.”

“Tracy cared for my 2 cats for 8 nights. They fight a lot at home and I explained the situation to Tracy. She has worked with them and also gave us few pointers. Back home, they still fight but not that ferociously. Thanks Tracy!”

“Alexandrea was absolutely amazing with our two cats! Communication with her was easy and she sent us pictures everyday of our cats. First time trying rover and she went above and beyond for us. Not only did she take great care of the cats, she even cleared snow when there was a storm while we were away, so above and beyond what she came to do! I would recommend her to anyone for care of your pets while you’re away.”

“Gabriella is amazing. We have been needing to leave town a bit more frequently for a sick relative and she has been very patient and understanding with our Porter. Porter had a little accident and she went above and beyond to clean up and make him feel comfortable. We really appreciate her and recommend her as she is consistent and super communicative and receptive to any of our instructions.”

“Anna was great. I have a scaredy cat and she was able to get him to warm up to her. My cats also had medication that she was able to give to the cats as well. We will definitely hire her again.”

I have had pets such as dogs, cats and small mammals for over 25 years. References can be provided upon request. I work full-time from home in Taberg, NY, so I can do drop-in visits or walks in the Camden/Rome/Utica area on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I am available other weekdays upon request. I can also take dogs on walks or provide general attention and check-ins whenever required. I have a strict no-human-food policy for pets.
“Great experience with Melinda :)! She made the effort to come beforehand fro a meet and greet and she was great with my cats. It was so nice to be away and not worry about my fur babies :).”

“Great communication, very professional, immediately apparent that he knew his way around cats (was willing to crawl on the floor to get a picture of my skittish boy under the bed).”

“I had a great experience with drop-in visits! He met all expectations, communicated consistently, and sent pictures every time. I will definitely be asking him back next time I go out of town. Highly recommend!”

“Kayla was flexible with taking care of my guinea pigs in addition to my cat. The house was cleaner than I expected upon return since the shavings/hay can get dusty but Kayla obviously put in the extra time to sweep up. There were a few communication gaps (was not notified that kibble was running low until the bag was down to its last feeding, use of Rover cards only without any actual updates on pet status) but overall I am happy with my first use of this website for pet care.”

About: What sets me apart as a cat sitter is my commitment to providing specialized care that goes beyond the basics. I'm not just here to feed your cat; I'm dedicated to ensuring their health, happiness, and comfort in every way. Specialized Care and Experience I have extensive experience with administering medications, including pills and liquids. I understand that a consistent schedule is crucial for your cat's health, and I'll make sure their medication is given precisely as prescribed. My background in handling cats with special needs, such as those with diabetes, kidney disease, or anxiety, means I'm prepared for any situation. Beyond medication, I believe a clean environment is a key part of a cat's well-being. I take pride in deep-cleaning litter boxes, ensuring they're scooped multiple times a day and sanitized regularly to prevent odors and promote hygiene. I also make sure food and water bowls are kept sparkling clean. A Focus on Mental and Physical Well-being My visits are not just a quick stop. I dedicate time to interactive play, using toys and games to keep your cat mentally stimulated and physically active. For more timid cats, I offer a gentle and patient presence, allowing them to warm up to me at their own pace. I can also provide grooming, like brushing and nail trims, if needed. When you choose me, you're not just hiring a sitter; you're getting a dedicated partner in your cat's care. About: I grew up with two cats, so I love cats as well as dogs. In 2019, I adopted an incredibly loving, gorgeous lab pit named Lucy, and she keeps me very active every day! She was a rescue dog, and although we were originally fostering her, I bonded with her too much to let her go. I’ve always been a natural introvert and have been drawn to the compassion of animals. I believe we can learn more about our own humanity through caring for animals. I look forward to meeting your amazing furry friends! In addition to Rover, I substitute teach right now, and this allows me to have a very flexible schedule. It's closer to part-time than full-time. My priority is to listen and adapt to each client’s needs/preferences, so that both the client and their pets will be as happy as possible.

About: I have 3 years of experience taking care of cats and dogs of a variety of breeds, and have worked with puppies as well as older pets in home environments such as suburbs, cities, and rural areas. I am happy to cater to your pet's special needs, and I focus on respecting each pet's boundaries and getting to know them on a case by case basis, with the hope that they grow to trust me as much as they trust you! Since I am a writer who works remotely, I am open on a weekly basis and am able to be flexible in order to meet your scheduling requirements. I work hard to ensure that your pet's personal boundaries are not crossed while we take time to get to know each other. I especially care about learning their preferences in order to earn their favor and eventually their trust. Depending on each pet, I try to be very sensitive to any shifts in their mood or behavior, such as if they get anxiety when left alone or are afraid of loud weather.
About: I've always loved animals but didn't have the space to care for one of my own, until recently, so my interactions have mostly been through other's animals. In high school I was an animal science major and volunteered at doggy daycares. Then in college I studied basic canine care and training where I got experience in training different dogs. Now I have my own puppies, 2 2 year olds and a 1 year old, so more experience everyday! Currently in between employments and looking for something to keep me occupied that would benefit others as well. So available anytime that would be convenient for you! I have decent space for my pups and have my own precautions. I will prioritize the safety and wellbeing of your fur baby as if they're my own, so I assure you that I will follow any and all instructions given to me by you.
About: With 6 years of dedicated experience in pet care, I provide a comprehensive and compassionate service tailored to the unique needs of each animal. My expertise extends beyond basic care to include specialized skills such as positive reinforcement-based puppy training, helping to establish good habits from an early age. I also have a deep understanding of senior dog care, including administering medication, providing gentle exercise, and creating a comfortable, low-stress environment. I have experience managing a variety of medical conditions, ensuring your furry family member is safe and well-cared for at all times. My goal is to be a trusted partner in your pet's health and happiness, providing peace of mind while you're away. Each morning starts with feeding, watering, and a potty break for the pets in my care. This is followed by a morning walk or playtime to get their energy out and start the day on a positive note. Throughout the day, I follow individual schedules, which might include specific feeding times for puppies or senior dogs, medication administration, or scheduled walks and potty breaks. The afternoon often includes another round of playtime or enrichment activities, such as puzzle feeders or training sessions, to keep their minds engaged. Evenings are typically quieter, with a final feeding and potty break before a relaxing wind-down. My weekly routine involves a bit more planning. I coordinate with pet owners to schedule walks, check-ins, or overnight stays. I also use this time to restock on supplies and keep detailed records of each pet's behavior, eating habits, and health. If a pet is in my care for an extended period, I might schedule a grooming appointment to ensure they're in top shape. My schedule is built around the needs of the pet, ensuring they receive consistent, loving care and that their owners have peace of mind. Caring for pets, whether on my own or a client's, requires a responsible and attentive approach to ensure their well-being. A fundamental aspect is providing a consistent routine, including scheduled feeding times with high-quality, species-appropriate food and fresh water that is always accessible. Regular exercise is crucial for both physical and mental health; this can range from daily walks for dogs to interactive playtime. Environmental enrichment, such as toys, scratching posts, and comfortable bedding, helps prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. It's also vital to maintain a clean and safe living space by regularly cleaning food and water bowls, litter boxes, and bedding. Beyond daily care, a thorough pet care plan includes regular grooming, such as brushing and nail trims, and staying up-to-date on veterinary care, including vaccinations and preventative treatments for fleas, ticks, and worms. For client homes, clear communication is paramount. It is important for me to obtain detailed instructions regarding the pet's specific needs, routines, medications, and any behavioral quirks, as well as emergency contact information. This holistic approach, combining routine care with attention to individual needs and a focus on safety and hygiene, ensures a happy and healthy life for any pet under my care.
