About: I've had dogs my entire life from puppies to rescues! I've also been a grooming salon manager in Ithaca for 9 years. I've cared for many different breeds, ages, temperaments, and quirks all dogs have and I love them all the same. I have two dogs of my own Luke and Yoda. Luke is a 6 year old lab mix around 35 lbs. He is very loving and playful. Yoda is a 5 year old miniature fox terrier mix who has unlimited energy and is the sweetest snuggler. I am home all day with my baby and two dogs of my own so I can give the same care to some extra dogs! I treat every dog as if they are my own. I have lots of extra blankets to make sure they have there own space (i do recommend to bring some of there stuff like blankets, beds, and toys to make them more comfortable) and have extra room to separate them if they need to be alone. I will always make sure they are comfortable, happy, loved, and safe!

About: My very first pet of my own is my beautiful calico cat, Nala. I love her beyond words and I would treat your fur baby just how I would want someone to care for mine! I have been cat sitting for over 10 years, as one of my very first jobs was watching my neighbors cat while they were on vacation. She was diabetic so I had to give insulin and make sure she was feeling okay without her mom and dad around. About: (Saying up front that I am not comfortable using a prong collar, so if that’s something you use on your dog, I don’t believe I’m a right fit for the service you want. Please don’t invite me to your home and surprise me with a prong collar—I will not use it on your dog.) Now here’s my bio: No dog deserves the kennel! Why settle for the pound when they can spend a night in a home with an owner-on-loan; either in your house on in a house that has raised two other pets from puppyhood to old age? Admittedly, there are stairs and hardwood floors in my house, but I have bought several carpets for my old dog to move around on and can lay them down for your dog’s convenience. We also have a big backyard that your dog will love to run around in (and no predators, unless you count woodchucks and geese) and a long leash that can go all the way to the end of the property line. I love dogs and after a day with me, your furry friend will mistake me for his mother. I’m most busy Wednesdays-Thursdays, so I marked them out on the calendar, but if petsitting is required for several days, that is easy to accommodate! I also don’t mind waking up every few hours to take a dog out—I have not quite reached the age where sleep is important. I won’t allow your dog to roam around outside unleashed (sorry, but I don’t want to lose them!), but when they’re outside, I’ll make sure they have the freedom to run around to their heart’s content. Additionally, I’m willing to walk them in any weather they’ll put up with and even let them sleep on the couch/spare bed, if they’re not too dirty.

I have done long term dog walking and dog sitting for a few local families in the Cortland area. They love me and I love them and their pups! About: I’ve cared for dogs for 10 yrs and have owned a cattle dog mix for 6! I’ve fostered and pet sat dogs, cats, and kittens throughout that time. I have experience giving medication, basic training, and am detail oriented when it comes to any special instructions. My priority is following your lead when it comes to what's best for your pet's safety, nurturance, and play! Right now, my care schedule is flexible! I'm available for boarding in my home or pet sitting in yours. I work part-time, two days a week as a direct service provider from my home and 1-2 events per week at Cornell. I'm intentionally staying open so I can spend time at home with my dog and am never away for long! I love taking long walks around my quiet, rural neighborhood or spending time exploring the area. I live in a quiet, rural cottage with a screened in porch, backyard and tie out. My cattle dog mix is super playful and loves other dogs! Happy to also provide care in your home, especially for cats and other animals.

“Jessica and her family were amazing. They watched our 6 month old puppy and 7 year old dog for 4 nights while we were on a vacation. The older dog gets anxiety when she would stay at a boarding facility due to being around lots of dogs, barking and sleeping in a kennel. She experienced none of that while with Jessica. She came home happy, calm and most importantly, with an appetite. She took them on long walks everyday, played with them and treated them as her own. She is great about communication with pics and constant daily updates. Your dogs will be in great, loving hands with Jessica. I will certainly use her again for all my dog sitting needs.”

“Jenna and her husband were great. They worked around my crazy schedule to get my pup out there, and we're more than accommodating when I asked to pick him up early because I missed him! The house was a nice space and well kept, and the yard was a super nice large space for the boys to rhomp. They were both really friendly and great with my pup, making my feel as ease to leave him with them. And their pup and mine got along really well, so that was a bonus that he had a buddy for the week! It was also really nice that I got pictures all week of the boys playing and chilling together. All around excellent experience, I can't say enough good things to say how pleased I was with everything. I would certainly look Jenna up again to sit for my pup! Thank you!!”
About: I am just starting to my fourth career, playing with your companion. I recently retired from teaching sustainable development at UAlbany. I now spend my days outside with hairy friend Herman. I picked up my first stray, Bandit, at 9. I have had a at least one dog since then, I am now 63. All from shelters or strays. I also did doggie foster care too. Known to be gentle and friend of the furry ones. I start each day with a morning meander across the 25 acres on a dead end road. Your companion will be well exercised, loved and cared for as long as they get along with my 14 year old hairy friend Herman, who lets cats eat from his dishes. He runs the place when it comes to house rules. He does not have viscous bone in his body. After three careers and global travel I am recently retired. My days are spent gardening, walking, sitting on the porch, listening to music, etc. I am rarely gone more than a few hours as Herman, my four legged friend, needs special care at 14 years old. I am typically up before dawn, no dog or alarm necessary. My day typically begins with me waking predawn and greeting the new day with my hound Herman on the 25 acres we cohabitate. Most is abandoned agriculture returning to forest for 35 plus years that is bisected by a small babbling brook. Breakfast is then served before returning outside. In climate weather I am outside more than 70% of my day outside. At 14 he chooses to stay in sometimes. Your companion will be free to make their own choice too. My life ambition is to nurture life. I have cared for pets since I was born as my family had cats. There is a fenced area that includes four shaded area. There will be plenty of water, including a baby pool for play as well as sprinklers. This area is shares two fences lines with my garden, has direct access to a walk out basement, and is fully visible from my porch. The dogs will have near 24/7 personal attention and care. I live sustainably. There are no chemicals in my lawn or garden. I have an enclosed porch that in the summer is open air, but no steps to escape. Only with your permission would I walk a guest off leash. Before walking them off leash I will need feel 100% confident they respond to command when other distractions are present. Again with your permission I would take your friend to a fenced in dog park visit as a trial run. Herman, my housemate, is a happy healthy 14 year old he is my best reference. He also has final word on all guest of all species. About an 1/2 acre is fenced with direct access from the house through the basement door. It includes shaded doggie lounges, a baby pool in the summer, toys galore, and lots of attention as the space is adjacent to my garden and the covered porch. It has the capacity to be divided if unruly dog needs to be isolated or there are little ones that just need time away from the bigger ones. Indoors, dogs are free to roam in the basement and first floor. If they are cage trained I can accommodate that. The two beds are off limits. To prevent misunderstanding with bed loving dogs I will keep my guest room. Both the porch and the living room couches are fine. Little ones may use chairs too. The house is really set up for Herman’s comfort and safety. The 32x10 covered front porch is a favorite of Herman and all his visiting friends. Your hairy friend will be delighted by this feature too. One more thing, the hardwood floors are currently covered in rubber “yoga mats” as Herman can not cope with slippery floors. There are also many large dog beds that Herman is happy to share. Opps, where are our manners; welcome to our slice of Paradise!😊
