“As all true dog lovers know, a dog is not just a pet, it is a member of the family. As such, I am very cautious about where and who I leave my dog with. As we had never had to leave our Violet with anyone, my wife and I were very worried when we had to leave our girl for almost 2 weeks. We did not feel comfortable boarding her at a kennel as we didn’t think she would respond well to that environment. So, we went to Rover to see if we could find someone we thought would be a good fit for our Violet. After reading multiple write ups on various Rover sitters, we found Erika who we thought looked like a good fit and was close to our home. At our meet and greet with Erika, my wife and I had perfect peace as we met with Erika and saw the home where Violet would be staying. Erika had a warm and inviting home, a fenced in backyard, and the perfect playmate, ( her dog Huxley) for our girl Violet. My wife and I decided immediately that this home and sitter would be the perfect fit for Violet. We were not disappointed! Erika loved our Violet as much as she loved her own dog and showered her with love and affection. She sent us daily pictures and videos of Violet and her dog playing, napping, and just having a wonderful time. She was having so much fun. We jokingly, worried that Violet wouldn’t want to come home with us after spending time with Erika. Ha Ha. In summary, any dog would be lucky to spend time with Erika. She is an amazing person and we were so happy we found her. This app only let me put in a rating of 5 stars, but if I could have, I would have put in 10 or more stars in rating her performance. We would definitely use Erika again in the future, if and when we needed to board our Violet. My only worry is that after reading my review of Erika, everyone will want to board with her and I won’t be able to have my Violet stay with her when I next need her. Ha ha.”

About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.

About: I’ve loved dogs since I was wee child. 8 years ago my now husband and I got our first puppy (a pitbull/rat terrier mix) named Dudley and have since grown our four legged family by four! A 3.5 year old Daniff (Great Dane/English mastiff mix) named Aspen and three domestic shorthair kitties, varying in color (an orange included), named Chug, Nova and Wee. I always like establishing the blueprint for what my visits will look like. During the summer, I have lots of extra time and flexibility to take your pups on long walks or stop by for drop-in visits when you need a hand. Currently I dog sit two fur babies since 2020. In a week I am losing one of my buddies due to his parents relocating. About: I’ve loved dogs since I was wee child. 8 years ago my now husband and I got our first puppy (a pitbull/rat terrier mix) named Dudley and have since grown our four legged family by four! A 3.5 year old Daniff (Great Dane/English mastiff mix) named Aspen and three domestic shorthair kitties, varying in color (an orange included), named Chug, Nova and Wee. Despite the 2 dogs, 3 cats and family I still have time to spare throughout the days; especially during the school year. I’ve been walking dogs for friends and associates for about a year and I’ve really enjoyed the freedom and relations I’ve found along the way. I have experience with dogs of all ages/sizes. From 40lb corgis to 150lb mastiffs, your pup is safe with me and will likely find a new best friend. I would love the opportunity to walk your dog or drop in for a visit/play date! **I do have a 6 year old that comes with me during the summer so I am limited to child friendly dogs during that time. My schedule is almost always open and flexible aside from not being available on weekends. I am currently unavailable on Tues, Thurs and Fri (from 11AM-12PM) for a preexisting client. Because I have 5 pets of my own, I am unable to offer services from my home. With that being said, respect is first and foremost. Your house, your pets, your rules. I always like establishing the blueprint for what my visits will look like. I, of course, am trying to cater to your pet and understand they all have different needs; some are anxious, food/treat motivated, some need lots of exercise. I assure you, no pet is too big or small for me.

I’ve also helped care for friends’ and neighbors’ dogs, giving me experience with different routines and environments. I’ll treat your dog like my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. With a part-time schedule consisting of short shifts a few days a week, I’m able to offer flexible and attentive pet care. I have ample availability to maintain your dog’s routine and provide consistent supervision, exercise, and companionship. I always prioritize a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for every pet in my care. I take the time to follow each owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walk routines, and any specific preferences or needs. I make sure dogs are always supervised, kept in secure environments, and never put in situations where they could feel unsafe or overwhelmed. I also have a small fenced grass section outside of my house! In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and maintain their dog’s normal routine to help them feel as comfortable as possible. I’m attentive to behavior and body language, and I’ll adjust care based on what each dog needs—whether that’s more playtime, exercise, or just a calm presence. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for.
About: I have been pet sitting for about 15 years, everything from quick play dates to extended stays lasting over a month. I've worked with a variety of dogs including a 13-year old 4 pound chihuahua, a vizla that required 5 or more hours of solid exercise a day, a 160 pound mastiff that thought he was a lap dog, and a very scared dalmatian/husky/german shepherd mix that needed some serious work on social interations. I've dealt with skunk attacks, bee stings, an intestinal blockage and various types of aggression. I AM NOT CURRENTLY ABLE TO STAY OVERNIGHT DURING SITTINGS. I KEPT IT IN MY PROFILE BECAUSE IT IS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN BOOKING MULTIPLE DROP-INS At the end of last year I ended up taking in 3 Doberman puppies that I had dog sat for regularly. I was able to find a home of one of them but the other two are still with me. Because of this I am not able to do extended stays that require me to be gone overnight or dogs that cannot be left alone for a few hours due to separation anxiety or medical reasons. But if your dog is friendly please consider boarding! I currently work from home with flexible hours most of the time. My schedule is very accommodating and I love being able to take advantage of nice weather or last minute requests. The yard where I am is NOT fenced in, but it is very large with several acres of wooded area in the back. For dogs that need to stay on leash there is a long tie out and plenty of walks. I never let the dogs play outside without supervision. There are two other friendly dogs on the property (in addition to my own 2) and two dogs next-door that come over to play all the time. So we have our own mini, well-mannered, well-socialized dog park.
About: I have owned and taken care of both dogs and cats most of my life. I am responsible and trustworthy in taking care of your pet. I am retired. I have a very open schedule. I am available for walks and check ins Monday through Friday. I can not board or take care of pets in my home. About: I have been working with dogs since I was in 6th grade. I trained my childhood dog through a 4H program and we completed at the county fair each year in Obedience and Rally. Now I have a rescue who over the past 4 years we've helped work through a lot of reactivity and she now is an active participant in Rally competitions and other classes. As a teacher my summer is wide open for walks and drop in visits. Once the school year starts after school and weekends are open. I'm very comfortable with dogs of various sizes and needs. I can crate your furry family members, get them fed, out for walks etc. I'm comfortable with various walking equipment from harnesses to gentle leaders and collars.
About: I grew up around lots of dogs and cats, and as an adult have been a pet parent to both cats and dogs. I'm exceptionally thoughtful, caring, and patient with pets and you can rest assured that your dogs, cats, or other pets will be in good hands with me. I'm currently employed in the gig economy (Uber/Lyft/DoorDash), meaning the days and times I work is quite flexible. I can largely work around any client's schedule. If caring for a pet in my home, I have a fenced in yard, there are no kids or other pets. If caring for a pet in a client's home I am very thoughtful, considerate, and respectful. For dog walking I carry poop-bags and depending on length can bring dog-friendly water bottles.
About: I was previously a veterinary assistant. Additionally, I was an Animal Cruelty Investigator for 4 years. I have extensive experience with animals and animal care. I am currently working at a veterinary clinic mostly everyday, but am looking to spend extra time with your dogs and cats on my off time! I have two small dogs at my home that love to play with other dogs. I personally also will play with your dogs and cats and pay lots of attention to them!

About: Hi, I am a Mother to two children who reside with me. We currently have an XL bully who will be one year on May 13th. He his a 2 time graduate of puppy obedience training. We also have two very loving cats. I also help care for my sister’s two large dogs when she is at work throughout the week. I am comfortable with all types of pets including puppies and large breed dogs. I am available every day, except on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I also am OK with the same day job proposals. My dog is crate trained as well as being able to be free only in our large kitchen. He is supervised in the rest of the house because he is still a puppy. If we were to care for your pet in our home, your pet would be taken care of in a different area than the dog for all pets safety and comfort.

About: I have 2 dogs of my own who are spoiled rotten. I adore pets of all kinds, I even have a ferret and bearded dragon myself. I do work full time, but I know how hard it is finding a quality person to watch your babies. I have a flexible job so I can make any schedule fit! I also have a 16 year old child who loves dogs as well, so if your fur baby does well with children and you want them to have a little socialization that way I am willing to bring my child. I know how much dogs miss their humans when they are gone, so I will do my best to make them as loved and comfortable as possible I do work full time, but I have a very flexible schedule. About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.
