About: I have spent most of my life taking care of animals large and small. I have grown up with dogs, cats and also had horses since a very young age. I have experience giving meds and taking care of elderly animals. I can assure you I am a all around animal lover and I will treat your pet as my own. About: Hello all! My name is Carly. I am from Connecticut originally and have been living in the Capital district for about two years now. When I was back in home state, I had been sitting for about 8 years on and off and grew up taking care of all types. I used to have my own business called CA Pet Services doing pet sitting during my free time. I have taken care of all types of animals, large and small. I love meeting new furry friends and enjoy spending time getting to know them and giving them all the affection they deserve. About: Common courtesy and communication is paramount. **Willing to travel up to an hour away. Just because Rover says you are outside my service area it does not always mean you are. I have clients an hour North and South of me. **Necessary update as of 6/21/23** I will require current credit card info be on file at your vet or provided for me in your pet write up ONLY in case of emergency. In the event of an emergency and I could not get a hold of the human, puppies have no pockets to hold a card, the vet required me to pay. I have raised 3 separate RESCUE Rottweilers to be exceptional ambassadors of their breed. I currently do not have any pets since my big boy passed away in 2016. I hope to again one day have my own dogs. Until then I will love YOUR pet. **I DO NOT board animals at my home. Only repeat clients would MAYBE be possible for a very short amount of time.** Clients pets have included many breeds, species for days, weeks. Many Golden Retrievers, Doodles, mixes aka Heinz57s, Old English Sheep dog, lots of kitties, a chameleon, turtles, a bearded dragon, a small bird, fish, Rottweilers, a very challenging but lovable English Bulldog and Huskies one of which was very reactive. Oh and a LOT of house plants! PLEASE NOTE: I am deathly allergic to horses which I am very sad about. Any type of animal requiring LARGE amounts of hay would also be a problem i.e, goats, cows, alpacas I am sorry to say. Small rodent animals requiring hay for food or bedding has not been a big deal. My personnel dogs were very public dogs, parks, events etc. With the ever present fact in mind that as good as my animal was it is still an animal. Never purposely putting them in a situation to be loose (unless at home or a fenced park) or get into anything that could harm them. Read quite a few books/manuals by military working dog trainers in hopes of training a service oriented Rottie. Came very close to passing the Good Citizen certification but my dogs never liked the “stay” part when I had to walk away with my back turned. They just had to be next to me. So close. PLEASE NOTE: I have my preferences set to NOT to show any photos of YOUR pet publicly. I would ask permission first to share. Photos only NEVER infomation of course. My schedule allows me to be available to be in YOUR HOME, with your pets all day/night, unless noted ahead of time and of course trips to the store. I have many types of animals that insist on sleeping in bed just like they do when their people are home which in fine by me. Just take some Benadryl and snuggle on in. I try to stick closely to how the home runs normally so the pets do not have any surprises that can make them anxious. Sleep, food, walks, play time etc. I supervise dogs in their own yard fenced or not. I am very organized and like an outlined idea of their schedule to be written down for me to follow as closely as YOU would.

I have studied dog behaviors, CPR trained, used to train and have spent my life learning dogs. About: Growing up, I've had a couple of dogs. Our first was a mix (part husky, terrier, etc.) named O'Doolie who lived to be 16! I was young when we had her, so I don't remember her puppy years. Our other dog we had since I was in elementary school up to my early 20s was Dixie Lee. She was a Miniature Schnauzer and was the sweetest dog ever! I enjoyed bathing her, brushing her teeth, and giving her so much love and attention. My husband and I work together as landscape designers! During the winter months, our schedule is very slow. I do charge an additional fee for gas, due to gas prices being so high and the high intake I receive from my guests. She really went out of her way to make sure they were taken care of and providing me with updates and pics throughout thier stay. She was also very accomadating when my schedule was changing as well as dealing with my one dog who is very anxious and hyper active. He was more at ease with her than I would have anticipated after meeting for the first time. I will be using her again in the near future and would definitely recommend.”

About: I just lost my 13.5 year old shepherd, I have been skilled in taking care of him and his old age and needs, I spent his whole life training him in German and English. I spend all day with dogs and know dog behavior very well, I have worked in boarding facility’s giving meds and food and walking dogs and learning their specific personalities. “Where do I even begin? Heidi and her family were life savers. I had a different host that I had booked well over a month before my trip, and on the day of drop off I could not get a hold of her. I was in pure panic mode, and I found Heidi. She lives even closer to my home so that was another bonus. I got all the pictures and updates constantly. She treated my fur baby as if she were her own. She gave my girl a homemade pup cup, sweet potato and rice on her food, and all the snuggles. I know that she was truly in the best hands, and the first host falling through was a blessing in disguise. I would definitely book with her again!”
