About: I have experience caring with a variety of breeds,sizes and ages of dogs. Dogs are one of my favorite animals and I love to spend time with them. My mother has a 5 year old pure bred boxer and a 2 year old english bulldog that I have always been around and helped to train. About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.

My mother actually says that my first word as a baby was "dog", so I think it is simply fate that I am here today. I grew up with a magical Golden Retriever named Chessie and a spunky wire-haired Dachshund named Emma. I loved playing fetch with Chessie in the backyard, grooming Emma and trying to tame her spikey fur, and walking them together all around my hometown. As an adult, friends and family trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their dogs. And later, I was lucky enough to adopt a very special 7-year old mini-Australian Shepherd named Lexi who had been surrendered by her previous owner. Lexi had intense separation anxiety and some health issues with her kidneys, so after all that she had been through, it was so wonderful and rewarding to love and care for Lexi and watch her regain her confidence and trust in people and thrive. Being her dog-mom was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life and I miss her so much. As your pup's new friend, it is my mission to give them that same level of attention, care, and admiration. Dogs have infinite space for love and joy and we have so much to learn from them, so I look forward to meeting you and your pup! I am a work-from-home creative type so I have lots of time and space in my schedule to take care of your pup! We were so grateful to the extra time Meghan & Sean spent to make both the humans and the doggo feel positive about the plan. We loved getting pics of the crew on their daily walks.
