About: I Work nights! I am off Thursday and Friday nights. I've rasied my 80lb. Female dog from when she was 4 weeks old to about 6 years. I'm very active and love to take my dog out for runs. Very disciplined and have taught my big girl to behave politely in NYC. I've taken care of huskies and smaller dogs like chihuahuas and poodles for neighbors as well! I work overnights and just moved to an Tamnersville. I would love to walk or just spend time with a dog. My dog is home on staten island with family and I miss spending time with dogs so much! About: My own dogs are always the #1 teacher. They show me how to best care for them - with food, play, training, medications, travel, sleepless days and nights when they've been ill, and giving them all them comfort I can. I've volunteered at dog shelters, spent hours walking dogs in all kinds of weather, and offered comfort to friends who've had to say goodbye to their best fur friends. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule that allows me to give your pets plenty of attention - playing, feeding, and scratching behind the ears. I take my dog for swims in the river, off leash romps in the woods, and leashed walks around town. We also play fetch and tug-of-war in the house or on the deck. If your dog needs a playmate, my dog, Jackson, may be a good fit. My cats - depending on their mood - like to lounge in the sun, pounce on the occasional toy, run up stairs, and hunt for treats I've hidden for them.

About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.

“Kate has a very warm demeanor and my first impression when I brought our dog Astrid over to her house for a meet and greet before boarding, was that she would care for our dog as if she were her own. Astrid is usually quite anxious when she’s first introduced to a new person and a new environment, but she appeared to be more at ease much quicker with Kate at her house than she typically is. Kate sent us regular pictures and updates, was very flexible about our schedule for pickup and drop-off, prompt and easy to communicate with, and we didn’t worry about Astrid at all. We will certainly reach out to Kate again when planning future boarding accommodations for our sweet Astrid.”
“First of all, I was super nervous to leave my precious Teddy with someone we didn't know (and the first time he'd have been left with someone we didn't know) & Rebecca was fantastic! Kept me in the loop with how teddy was doing, got him calmed down cause he was nervous too/ sent me photos of my lil guy throughout his stay with them... I couldn't say enough good things about our experience! Teddy seemed to love them too and that's what matters to me. I'll definitely be wanting Rebecca to watch him on our future summer adventures where pups aren't allowed. THANKS SO MUCH!”

So on short notice he was able to fill in the days that friends and family could not and stayed flexiable to add additional days for me. Bella had fun and made a new friend with his dog.
