This was not something I had seen before as cats typically seem to be an afterthought or at least second to dogs in most pet-sitters bios. About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.

My own golden retriever Emmett chills with me all day and we go for walks around the block at lunchtime and we’d love for your friend to join us! I host one dog at a time (in addition to Emmett). I’m super comfortable with all breeds, just maybe not strong enough to handle anyone over 100 pounds unless they’re super well trained. I’ve seen Emmett and my previous dogs, Henry and Teddy, through all kinds of ear infections, hot spots, and geriatric arthritis treatments and am really good at finding ticks! My brother has Emmett’s brother, Gary, so you’ll see the two of them in a few pics together. I’m a remote freelance writer so my schedule is very flexible. I walk Emmett every day at least three times a day so it’s really easy to add an additional dog to the mix. I’m home all day so we all hang. Our yard is unfortunately not fenced but because I spend a lot of time at my computer I balance that with a lot of midday dog walks. When your pet stays here it’s very chill; as long as your dog gets along with Emmett they’ll have full range of the house and can snooze wherever and then we’ll go walk about around the block a few times, which nets out to be about a mile.

Our home has a small fenced yard, and a large gravel run that we can play fetch in! Our home is counter safe and we keep the house clean and free from anything dogs can get into.
About: I will keep you updated throughout the day letting you know how your pet is doing. If you'd like, I can even send you pictures showing how happy your pet is. I freelance in film production which allows me to be flexible with days and time. I have a wired sleeping schedule too which will allow me to go whenever to watch your pet. I make sure my roommates dog is always walked, fed, loved, played with, and above all, has water. I have a natural caring gift for all animals.
About: As a social worker, I'm highly attuned to both human and animal needs/issues, and love getting to know and cater to unique personalities - or provide loving care for those who are ill or have special needs. I started taking care of neighbors' pets at an early age and though we only had fish and birds and a cat at home, dogs and other animals became a special love of mine. I have been cat, dog, bird and other little furry friend sitting for over four decades and have done so for several years as a 5 star sitter on Trusted Housesitters. I love making new furry friends, both for sharing my positive, attentive energy with them, and for nourishing in the innocent sweet playfulness they often offer. About: I grew up in a home that always had multiple animals. Whether it was cats, dogs, fish, snakes and plenty more I was always taking care of different animals. Now as I’ve grown older the love for animals has not stopped. Dogs are really the best companions and can understand you more than some humans. The love I have for animals is truly the same love I have for family members. I’ll always make sure they are being well taken care of, fed, running freely or on walks, playing and always loved! Your dog will be treated like my own! My work schedule varies quite a bit, I may need to go into work sometimes & in that case my mother is typically home anyway. Otherwise I am home I have a fenced in area for the doggies to run freely. I have a dog of my own so I know what a dog needs and the love and attention they deserve! They can sleep wherever they’re most comfortable with at my home.

About: I’ve worked in animal welfare for 20 years and have experience with every size, breed and need! I’m comfortable administering medication and most importantly, I love animals so much that I’ve dedicated my life to them :). I work full time from home. I have flexible hours and usually go on several walks around my neighborhood a day. The longest I’d be away from home ranges from 2-4 hours and that can be adjusted based on your pets’ needs. I have a fenced yard and lots of love to give! There’s plenty of space in my house for crate(s) and I also welcome dog snuggles if they are allowed to sleep in the bed. I don’t have any other pets in the home but have lots of friends with dogs if yours likes the company.
