“I am one of those overindulgent pet owners. I usually only leave My King Charles cavalier, Fynn, with family or dear friends. A last minute opportunity over Easter weekend found me scrambling for dog care. An acquaintance mentioned Rover.com, a site and service I was unfamiliar with. After searching the site and reading the reviews I had four options close to my home. I call it a gut feeling because I was drawn to Melissa in spite of the fact she had no reviews posted. Melissa responded quickly . She explained she had two small dogs and would like to introduce the dogs first to see if this would work. It was as if she read my mind… Melissa was available later that day and we agreed to take the dogs to the park. Meeting in person, letting the dogs get to know each other immediately put my mind at ease . When I brought Fynn to Melissa to watch for the weekend, she introduced me to her family, her home and where the dogs would play. Once on the road Melissa continued to put me at ease by sending pictures and updates as to how the dogs were faring. Fynn came home happy, well cared for and missing his new buddies. Melissa is an interactive caretaker, extremely trustworthy, and provides a happy fun environment for the visiting dog guest!!”

I was nervous about disrupting her life yet again by boarding her in addition to exposing her to Jeff's resident dog. Jeff assured me she would be ok and that his dog was very well trained / calming. “Erika saved the day when she so graciously accepted a last minute booking for my cat and kittens I rescued who recently had spay/neuter surgery. My mom lives 7-8 hours away and was in a bad car accident. It was too soon to leave the kittens overnight with drop-ins. Erika came and stayed with them for two nights so I could be with my mom. She was super kind and put me right at ease. She kept me updated and as hard as it is to believe I didn’t worry about them at all. She even set food out for a family of community cats who have mostly moved in on my back porch. I’d hire her again without any reservations. A bonus, the house was all tidied up when I got home from my long trip.”

They spend the day with me around the house where they play with each other and where I play games with them. They go on 2-3 walks per day (if the owners allow me to take them for walks) and get plenty of exercise throughout the day. They're fed their dinner between 6pm and 7pm, get their last potty break at about 9pm and then we are done for the day!

From early childhood until now I have owned 4 Golden Retrievers and 6 cats (not at the same time of course!) including a retired service dog. About: I have taken care of all sorts of pets, from frenchies to German shepards, cats, and all sorts of animals. I am knowledgeable on how to take care of brachycephalic breeds. I am working part time so I have plenty of time to look after your pets! My schedule is pending depending on my work, but I’m usually available before 3:30 or after 5. I carry water bottles with me at all times and my pockets are stuffed with treats. My backyard is fenced and there’s plenty of areas for shade.

About: I'm a long time volunteer with Friends of the Homeless Animals and I have two rescue dogs of my own. We are a dog loving family and have a very pet friendly home, My dogs have always been very welcoming and have been great with the dozens of foster dogs we've had in and out of our house over the last decade. We decided to try boarding in our home-- we know how difficult it is to go away and worry about your pet. We have a lot of experience with all kinds of dogs—our goal is always to give the dogs space and time to relax and feel comfortable. I've done everything from giving insulin shots to oral vaccines. I've had dogs with separation anxiety, dementia, dog aggression--you name an issue, I've had a foster dog with it!, My 26 year old daughter is often with us and is wonderful with dogs and helps out quite a bit. She stands in for me if I have to be away. I work from home, so I am always around. We take walks in our neighborhood and I always make sure someone is around when we are boarding a dog We are fenced in and make it a point to be extremely watchful of the dogs in our home. We don’t take our boarding dogs off the leash.
