For many years we shared our home with Lucy who was a diabetic rescue We educated ourselves on her special needs including insulin injections. About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a child. I owned two Miniature Pinschers growing up and I adopted one Australian Shepherd mix that has special needs as an adult. I trained all of my dogs from the time they were puppies until they passed away as seniors. I also volunteered at the Humane Society of Westchester. I've always enjoyed being around animals since I was young and animals tend to feel the same way about me. Animals who are usually timid around strangers are comfortable around me right away and they seem to trust me right away. I feel like connecting with animals (dogs specifically) is a gift that I have. Being a sitter is a great way for me to use that gift in everyday life. New clients get a free 2027 desk calendar that has photos of my clients and my dog as well (check my photos for a preview). I'm able to adapt to the normal routine of the pets that I'm sitting in order to make the process as smooth as possible. I don't have a lot of room in my studio apartment so I'm only able to watch either 1-2 small dogs or one medium sized dog. Large dogs are too big for my apartment. If I'm at a client's home, I'll change my schedule to meet the needs of the pet. I believe all animals are unique and all have different needs in order to thrive in the environment that they're in. I'm willing to meet those needs by building my schedule around the animals that I'm sitting.

My husband and I love to take them on long walks in our neighborhood. We live in a beautiful cul de sac neighborhood, with a beautiful large landscaped yard with plenty of room to romp around in. We also have a built in pool that we allow to swim in if owner is on board with that. All play activities are supervised at all times. Dogs are never left outside without myself or husband being present. All dogs that stay at least 7 days get a complimentary bath. We have always had dogs in our life. In addition to the rates. If your dog is picked up by noon the next day there will be no charge. Half day charge will be applied after that until 6:30 PM. After 6:30 PM next night charge will apply. Dogs can be dropped off between 8am-8pm.

About: Ive had multiple pets as long as ive been alive both cats and dogs! In high school I volunteered with a small dog adoption center in New Hampshire called Mary's dogs, where I worked with older dogs and puppy's in need of homes. I also took and animal science class in my Junior year and was dog CPR certified. I know basic animal first aid as well. He took very special care to provide enrichment, exercise, and to make sure all of her needs were met. He kept diligent notes for us, was an excellent communicator, and was clearly so invested in the health and happiness of our pup. He even sent us home with a couple of treats he’d found out she liked! He’s absolutely wonderful and I cannot recommend him enough.”

“Our dogs had a fantastic stay with Rich! We got multiple photo and video updates throughout the day so we never had to worry about how it was going. He does watch multiple dogs at the same time but we were happy with the socialization for our pups. We had a meet and great ahead of time so I think Rich screens the dogs for temperament. Huge fenced in yard with double gate to prevent slipping out. I wouldn’t hesitate to send my pups back to Rich!”
“This was my first time using Rover and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. Mildred and her family treated my dog as one of their own for the few days that he was there and when I picked him up, I felt like I was part of the family as well. I got photos regularly and I knew that everything went perfect. I will 100% book again. I can tell that my dog made new friends so even if I don't need to board him overnight again, I know that I can drop him off to hang out with his new friends. I prefer this option over boarding/daycare at a facility where your pets may not get the same level of attention and care. 10/10 Recommend!”

“Katharine has been amazing with Murphy. He's a needy and anxious dog and she's handled him so very well and communicates with texts and pictures to assure me the entire time I am away. She's loving and enjoys exercising Murphy every day which is what he needs.
