They have access to toys and a TV for entertainment, along with plenty of attention and interaction throughout the day. Potty Breaks: Every couple of hours, we rotate through the pets and take them outside individually for another potty break. We continue this routine throughout the day, adjusting it based on each pet’s needs. Because we work from home and are here throughout the day, we’re very flexible. We can give pets extra potty breaks, attention, playtime, or quiet time as needed. Our goal is to keep them comfortable, happy, and on a routine that feels as close to home as possible. A Comfortable Home Away From Home Our kennel is designed to feel less like a traditional kennel and more like a comfortable home away from home. We have three individual kennels, each equipped with a cozy dog bed so every guest has their own comfortable space to rest. For our longer-term guests, we also have a dedicated doggy bath to help keep them clean and comfortable during their stay. During the day, pets can enjoy time indoors in our climate-controlled space, complete with a TV for entertainment and plenty of toys and attention. When it’s time to stretch their legs or take a potty break, they have access to our fenced yard where they can safely get some fresh air and movement. At night, we use a sound machine to create a calm, peaceful environment and help everyone settle in for a restful night. Because we’re home throughout the day, we’re able to give each guest individual attention and adjust their routine to fit their needs. We want every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with us.

“Admittedly, I was a bit nervous to leave my quirky tripod at anyone’s house. Mylene is my queen but she is anxious, nervous and can be slow to warm up. Michelle and her family were the perfect fit for Mylene. It was so nice to not have to worry about Mylene while on vacation. I could tell that Mylene received a ton of attention on Mylene’s terms, exercise and clear/consistent direction from Michelle. This is why her stay went smoothly and she didn’t destroy anything due to not being stressed and she was able play with 2 other dogs. Michelle was very communicate and timely with responses which made securing this rover stay, drop off and pick up extremely easy. I am so grateful, I chose Michelle to watch my girl for this long stay.”
About: I grew up around lots of animals (cats, dogs, chickens, goats, reptiles), and I now have a lovely cat of my own named Julian. I absolutely love getting to spend time with other people’s pets. At this point in my life, I’d say I’m very much both a dog-person and a cat-person. I go on walks every day before or after work, and during my lunch break. Walking a dog would fit naturally into that routine. I’m willing to wake up early in the morning if needed, and if the client lives in Santa Fe, I would have the capacity to visit the dog or cat during my midday break from work as well. If the client lives outside of Santa Fe, I’m still available every evening for walks, feeding, and giving the dog/cat attention and human contact. I’m typically able to stay overnight at a client’s home any night of the week if needed. I treat pets with care, respect, and attentiveness. “I left my 70 lb American Bulldog with Michelle for about 4 hours while I visited Bandelier National Monument where dogs are not allowed. She took great care of Venus. I was worried because she has a small dog and there was an incident with my dog where a small dog went after Venus and she responded in turn, causing some injury. But Michelle introduced them slowly and they ended up playing together - now I know it is not small dogs that are the problem but aggressive dogs that make her feel like she is under attack and needs to defend herself.”

About: I've had dogs and taken care of them since I was a young child. As an adult I’ve fostered dogs for over 5 years, taking care of all types of dogs. I have experience potty training, house breaking, bathing, and more. The dogs I have fostered came from all sorts of backgrounds; homeless, abusive households, neglected, seniors, disabled (blind, deaf, hard of hearing, missing limbs). I enjoy spending time with all animals and animals like to be around me. Currently working on my dog trainer certification I have a flexible schedule since I work from home most of the time. As a dog owner myself I spend a lot of time taking care of my dog. We go on walks 3 times a day, he gets treats, cuddles and play time all day long. On the weekends when the weather is nice we like to go for short hikes. Unfortunately I sustained a bad fall in 2024 and broke my back; so I am unable to care for any pet over 50lbs or any pet that is leash reactive or pulls on a leash. Since that would aggravate the injury and most definetely stop me from caring for pets all together; I hope you can understand! I have a small backyard where we go play fetch, we also love going to Frenchy’s or many of the other parks in the area for walks and off leash play when the weather is nice. Going for walks 2-3 times a day around the neighborhood as well

I’m glad to use your dog’s crate at my house whenever I am not home if needed (not typical). Frenchy Park is right across the street from my house and super fun for the pups. I treat and protect each dog as if they were my own and love them all unconditionally. FYI, I don’t introduce my pack to other dogs that we don’t know, to avoid any unwanted drama and to keep everyone safe. New dogs really shouldn’t be introduced while on leashes anyway. I speak the language of dogs and am confident around them always. I am always their alpha who provides a fun and safe space for my pack.

They offer 100% dog sense, a yard that our border collie, Olli, could run around in and enjoy, and friends for Olli - Gila and Amber - two lovely dogs. Olli was taken for a run and allowed to sleep where he wanted. (important to us because he roams at night) Their home is calm and relaxed and dog friendly! Worth the trip from Santa Fe to their home near Pojoaque.”
