Maellin took every measure to ensure her greatest ease and comfort, bringing her into their bedroom and turning on some background noise to help drown it out. In the past we have used a great local kennel but due to concerns about the horrible canine virus circulating in several states last year we decided to try something different this trip. We paid a little more than we normally would have, but our dogs were less stressed due to the calmer environment (no other dogs, did not have to be crated at night) and the loving attention provided by Mark. Mark was great at sending daily updates and pics via messaging throughout the stay so that we could see how our pups were doing. I’m sure Mark stays pretty booked due to his loving care but we would definitely consider using his service again for futures needs, assuming he is available.”

“Apollo can be a handful with his anxiety and reactivity, and Bri handled it beautifully. They had a rocky first night, because he kept barking at every small noise. After several hours of this, he had her a bit worried about whether or not she could get him to settle down and sleep. But she stuck with it and got him to calm down and pass out. From there the visit went great. She followed our feeding and medication instructions exactly, worked on some training with him during his stay, and did a nice job with redirecting his attention when he got reactive on walks. Communication was excellent throughout. I received regular photos and updates, and she flagged any concerns as they came up rather than letting them sit. The best sign of how the weekend went: at pickup, Apollo planted himself on and between her feet multiple times while we were talking about how the weekend went. He clearly trusts and adores her, which can be difficult given his anxiety. We'll absolutely be booking with her again!”
“Wendy was great. She sent me pics of him, gave me updates of the situation, and asked if there was anything else she could do to keep Almond comfortable. Wendy let me know immediately that Almond started howling in the middle of the night. I wasn't sure what was going on since he never did that at home. My initial thought was he was missing me and home. And because of his age, I believe he got disoriented and lost and couldn't identify where he was at. Wendy did follow the instructions I left and asked if there was anything more she could do. I appreciate Wendy giving Almond the extra care he needed. Thanks again..”

About: I have grown up with animals all my life. I had 2 dogs and 2 cats growing up and I currently have a German Shepard, Weiner dog, and 2 flat faced cats. I am free for drop in visits or house sitting. I would be able to drop by your house, feed the dogs and take them out to play and use the restroom. Our cats are very skittish, and do not really like strangers, but Misty did everything she could to socialize with the cats and make them comfortable. By the end of the stay, I believe the cats were not as afraid, and started warming up to her, which is a big accomplishment! She sent pictures and updates daily, and assured us that things were going well. She kindly agreed to feed and water the wild birds and rabbits, and even sent pictures of them. The house was immaculate upon our return, and we knew that the cats were safe and well cared for. I would definitely recommend Misty, and look forward to having her house sit in the future!!”

About: I have lived with at least 2 dogs in my household for the past 20 years. Providing them with the opportunities to live fulfilling and healthy lives has been my priority. Although I am their caregiver, I consider them also to be my teachers. Learning how to communicate with them is the best way to ensure they are happy and calm, and that they feel safe. I am currently retired and spend quite a bit of time at the dog park. My dog and I are mostly inseparable. I take him with me to run errands when I can. It isn't always practical and so he minds the house when I am away. Barney is my only companion, and, even though I'm kind of a loner, Barney is NOT. He is extremely friendly and social and craves the company of other dog;, that factors into my decision to care for other dogs in my home. Barney will help me keep your dog comfortable and happy while in our care. We have a fenced back yard (4 foot). The surrounding properties have no dogs at this time. If your dog can jump a 4 foot fence, this may not be the safest home for him or her.

“This was my first time leaving my two dogs overnight at a strangers house and I'm so glad it was with Marissa!! She both reassured the dogs, AND she also was reassuring to me - and that helped a lot. “Apollo can be a handful with his anxiety and reactivity, and Bri handled it beautifully. They had a rocky first night, because he kept barking at every small noise. After several hours of this, he had her a bit worried about whether or not she could get him to settle down and sleep. But she stuck with it and got him to calm down and pass out. From there the visit went great. She followed our feeding and medication instructions exactly, worked on some training with him during his stay, and did a nice job with redirecting his attention when he got reactive on walks. Communication was excellent throughout. I received regular photos and updates, and she flagged any concerns as they came up rather than letting them sit. The best sign of how the weekend went: at pickup, Apollo planted himself on and between her feet multiple times while we were talking about how the weekend went. He clearly trusts and adores her, which can be difficult given his anxiety. We'll absolutely be booking with her again!”
“Wendy was great. She sent me pics of him, gave me updates of the situation, and asked if there was anything else she could do to keep Almond comfortable. Wendy let me know immediately that Almond started howling in the middle of the night. I wasn't sure what was going on since he never did that at home. My initial thought was he was missing me and home. And because of his age, I believe he got disoriented and lost and couldn't identify where he was at. Wendy did follow the instructions I left and asked if there was anything more she could do. I appreciate Wendy giving Almond the extra care he needed. Thanks again..”

About: I boarded and walked dogs in Los Angeles for three years, so I'm comfortable with most breeds and temperaments. My secret weapon? Bone broth ice cubes—they're a constant hit! My sister-in-law is a professional dog trainer, and I've learned a ton from her. I'm happy to reinforce your pup's existing training so routines stay consistent. Plus, with two high-energy, playful dogs of my own, your pup will have built-in best friends and a fenced yard to zoom around in all day. As long as your pup is dog friendly this will be a paradise. Breakfast is served around 9 AM, dinner at 5 PM—routine keeps pups happy! Depending on the weather, we'll either hit the trails for a morning hike or skip straight to zoomies in our fenced yard. Afternoon? More yard time, tug-of-war, or just napping at my feet while I work. Evenings are for winding down with cuddles. Safety is my top priority. Our yard is completely fenced six foot high with no gaps. The dogs will stay outside unless it’s cold or rainy. Inside, I keep a clean (tho covered in fur), dog-friendly space with water always available and hazardous items well out of reach. There are two cats inside so I do need to know if your dog is or isn’t cat friendly. I know dog body language from my years of boarding, so I can spot stress or overstimulation before it becomes an issue. If any pup needs a break, I have quiet spaces set up for alone time. I also require updated vaccines and am comfortable giving oral medications if needed. With two friendly resident dogs, I carefully manage introductions and group play to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable.
