About: I have lived with at least 2 dogs in my household for the past 20 years. Providing them with the opportunities to live fulfilling and healthy lives has been my priority. Although I am their caregiver, I consider them also to be my teachers. Learning how to communicate with them is the best way to ensure they are happy and calm, and that they feel safe. I am currently retired and spend quite a bit of time at the dog park. My dog and I are mostly inseparable. I take him with me to run errands when I can. It isn't always practical and so he minds the house when I am away. Barney is my only companion, and, even though I'm kind of a loner, Barney is NOT. He is extremely friendly and social and craves the company of other dog;, that factors into my decision to care for other dogs in my home. Barney will help me keep your dog comfortable and happy while in our care. We have a fenced back yard (4 foot). The surrounding properties have no dogs at this time. If your dog can jump a 4 foot fence, this may not be the safest home for him or her.

About: A little about me: I’ve had a dog by my side every day since I was six years old — dogs are an integral part of my life, not just something I do on the side. Over the years I’ve cared for dogs of every size, age, and temperament, from tiny lap dogs to a 90-pound Labrador, and from bouncy puppies to dogs in their older years. Experience: My deepest experience is with senior and special-needs dogs. My Labrador had a series of health challenges, including three separate leg surgeries. I nursed him through every recovery, which meant walking him with a support sling until he was back on his feet. When he was later diagnosed with cancer, I cared for him through hospice at home — giving his daily medications and keeping him comfortable and loved right to the end. So if your older dog needs medication, a little mobility help, or just extra patience and gentleness, that’s something I genuinely know how to do. I’m just as comfortable with high-energy dogs. That same Labrador was a handful in his younger years, so I know what it takes to keep a strong, active dog happy and well-exercised. I also love puppies and understand the patience and consistency they need. I’m happy to walk more than one dog at a time, and I have experience with leash-reactive dogs — I know how to keep walks calm, controlled, and low-stress for a dog who needs a little extra management. Right now I share my home with two girls — a 15-year-old Chihuahua mix and a 2-year-old Cairn Terrier — so both ends of the age spectrum are part of my daily routine. “I was so glad to have had Melissa and her sweet family watch Olivia. She was so reassuring and made me feel like I didn't have anything to worry about, and I didn't at all. Daily updates and pictures of my pup. When we met she answered any of my questions and gave me great info on just what Olivia would be doing, where she'd be sleeping, etc. It was so great to be able to leave Olivia with a family instead of a kennel. So friendly and reliable, I'll definitely be going back.”

All 3 of my dogs have some type of health issue that requires daily medication, they’re on an annoyingly specific diet because my geriatric dog needs the extra inventive to eat regularly, and although they’re sweet they’re a bit wild. They love him and are always happily tired when it’s time to go home. He also always has their supplies packed and ready for me when I get back to pick them up. 10/10!”
“Onrae did a great job watching Daisy for me. She was a recent rescue, who was a stray and still getting acclimated to her new life. I had to go out of town for a few days and was concerned about what I was going to do. Onrae was easy to communicate with from the start with the meet and great, sent photos and videos daily. She had a great time and came back just as happy as I left her. I would definitely use him again”

Michael's calm and easy demeanor was reassurance that she would be fine. She does not get along with other animals and as the only pet Michael watched he was able to provide her with individual attention. He sent photos daily, which we greatly appreciated.
