We had out-of-town guests coming for a visit and our plans were solidified; our usual sitter had an unexpected engagement, leaving us scrambling to find someone to watch our rescue beagle, Sherlock. Our poor pup had a very rough start and has severe separation anxiety, and since we summer in our condo in Highlands, he cannot be left alone, or he will howl incessantly with his unnerving high shriek of terror (poor boy). We searched on Rover for days, and then we found Sarah. She responded quickly to our inquiry. Yay! Now, I’ve been a customer on Rover for years (with our previous beagle), and Sarah had to be the utmost diligent. She requested proof of shots, she provided a detailed questionnaire for us to fill out before meeting Sherlock and we had a lengthy phone conversation about his needs/habits/schedule, etc. Thorough indeed, which I wholeheartedly appreciate because my pet is one of my favorite family members! Once at Sarah’s house, she was kind, loving, provided Sherlock with toys, a safe space to relax, and sent several updates and photos. She followed my instructions for feeding and bathroom/walking outings. We felt sooooo at ease that we could actually peacefully enjoy time with our guests. I am already planning our next extended outing, due to the diligence, care, professionalism and security Sarah provided. My 5-month-old Maltipoo puppy, Einstein, was treated like royalty while my family and I were away on holiday. I have a lot of experience with puppies specifically, including house training, crate training, and reinforcing basic commands so the work you have already put in does not unravel while you are away. I am just as comfortable with shy or high-energy dogs, and I follow whatever routine you have already established rather than imposing my own. I am home most of the day, which means your pet is not waiting hours between check-ins. I build walks and drop-ins around my own pets' routine, so caring for animals is already the rhythm of my day rather than something squeezed in. I keep my bookings limited so each pet gets real attention, and I am flexible on timing for early mornings, midday breaks, and late evening visits. I confirm the schedule with you before the first day and let you know right away if anything needs to shift. In your home, I follow your instructions exactly: same feeding amounts, same doors locked, same spots your pet is and is not allowed. I send photo updates after every visit so you can see how your pet is doing, and I always double-check gates, leashes, and locks before I leave. For walks, I use a secure harness or your preferred equipment and stay on familiar, low-traffic routes. My own home does not have a fenced yard, so dogs are leashed for every potty break and I never leave a dog unattended outside. Because of him, I have firsthand experience with the unique care that long-bodied breeds require, including proper handling techniques and back protection. I’ve also cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I am American Red Cross Certified in Dog First Aid 🐾 and have experience caring for medical dogs who require a little extra attention. My prior Border Collie, Zoey, was dog-reactive and medically disabled (she was completely blind in one eye), so I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and adapting care to a dog’s individual needs. ⸻ I am home throughout the day and will provide plenty of supervision, attention, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship for your pup. About: For the past 5 years, I’ve had a yellow labrador retriever named Hazel who is very energetic and playful. She’s my best friend! I’ve done house drop ins for friends and family for both dogs and cats to check in and take care of them. 💗 I currently work as a part-time before/aftercare teacher at a couple different elementary schools. I work Monday-Friday but have availability from 9:30am-2:30pm and after 6 pm. My weekends are free! I help my family feed our dog and provide her with water. I also take her on walks, to the park or play fetch in our backyard which has a good amount of running space for her. She’s a cuddler when she’s tired so we snuggle on the couch or play tug of war inside 😊

About: Hi there! Although I only recently reactivated this app, caring for dogs is nothing new to me. I’ve been around dogs my entire life and grew up with herding breeds. I raised my beloved Border Collie, Zoey (see Gallery), from puppyhood through adulthood. She has since crossed the 🌈 bridge, but during her life I taught her fun commands like “take a bow” and “play dead.” My goal is to provide dogs of all ages with a fun, safe, clean, and secure environment that is free from hazards—while giving their owners complete peace of mind. ⸻ Today, I own a longhaired male Dachshund named Moose. He loves other dogs, is up to date on his core vaccines, and is currently unneutered. Because of him, I have firsthand experience with the unique care that long-bodied breeds require, including proper handling techniques and back protection. I’ve also cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I am American Red Cross Certified in Dog First Aid 🐾 and have experience caring for medical dogs who require a little extra attention. My prior Border Collie, Zoey, was dog-reactive and medically disabled (she was completely blind in one eye), so I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and adapting care to a dog’s individual needs. ⸻ I am home throughout the day and will provide plenty of supervision, attention, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship for your pup. The house sits on a fairly quiet street in close proximity to the Belford Ferry, making it especially convenient for NYC commuters. *********** For clients interested in doggy daycare or boarding, dogs will enjoy a securely fenced backyard for supervised potty breaks, interactive play sessions, and an indoor doggy playpen to explore that is located on the main living level of the home (see Gallery). The playpen is stocked with a rotating assortment of toys and enrichment activities for your pup to enjoy, and dogs also have access to the adjacent hardwood-floor living area. *********** To help keep all of our furry friends healthy and safe, proof of core vaccinations is required (except for young puppies), and all dogs must be on a flea and tick preventative. Clients are welcome to bring a crate, favorite bed, blanket, or other comfort items from home. Baby gates are installed on the stairs for added safety, and walks may be added to daycare or boarding services for an additional fee. *********** At this time, I accept one client (which can include multiple dogs) at a time, though multiple same-day clients can work if all parties are in agreement. This allows me to provide individualized attention, maintain a calm, low-stress environment, and tailor my care to each dog’s unique needs. I closely supervise all dog interactions, and my home has multiple gated/partitioned areas that allow dogs to have their own space and be separated when needed. Moose also has a dedicated separate space for meals, naps, etc. At night, your pup will have the playpen all to themselves for a peaceful night’s sleep (or a crate if you prefer). The playpen is also monitored with a baby monitor for an extra layer of safety. ⸻ My goal is to make drop-off as simple and stress-free as possible. If you’d prefer to simply drop off your pup, I’ve got the essentials covered! About: I have experience training and caring for dogs and cats. I Specialize in dogs with hearing issues/ deafness. Both of my dogs are graduates of multiple behavioral and obedience classes resulting in our therapy certifications. We visit a multitude of schools, hospitals and other wellness centers. All volunteer work done by my companions and myself is strictly a passion and non profit. I was inspired by a visitation to my grandfather by a golden retriever, when my grandfather was in the hospital for open heart surgery. Seeing my grandfathers reaction to a dog visitation while he was in the hospital was a monumental moment for me that further inspired my passion and drive to work with dogs. I currently work early mornings for a government agency as an officer which gives me a lot of available free time at off times of the day and week. Making me readily available to care for your pets . A fenced yard is a must. My dogs are trained and raised to be curious and outgoing, thus a fence is needed. Although my dogs don’t need a leash, I find it’s necessary to generally have a leash attached. I allow my dogs to be curious, and put there noses where many wouldn’t generally allow. It’s important to always cover your stove switches/ burners with dog safety devices!. But ultimately I strongly believe in allowing your dogs and pets to be curious and open to learning. Dogs and cats alike are much smarter then most realize, and I believe this is there first time living as well.. and deserve the best experiences life has to offer!

The fact that they have ramps was an added benefit for my older dog. About: In 2025 I decided to go full time and start my own pet care business. I am fully bonded & insured! I love all animals but the anxious ones are really where I shine. I will meet your pet where they’re at. I’m Canine + Feline CPR & first aid certified, I have previous experience from working in a grooming salon (not a groomer though!) and am serious about continuing education— I’ve pursued additional certifications as well as a dog training apprenticeship and continue to do so. For walks, our walk doesn't officially "START" until your dogs paws hit the pavement! Your dog gets the full 30 minutes with no corners cut. This is true for all of my services.
