Professionally, I was vet assistant at an animal clinic before returning to farm animal work. At the clinic I learned the basics of animal health care and I learned how to properly handle dogs and cats. Throughout the last twelve years I’ve farm-sat and pet-sat for numerous friends and family members! In the last year I worked at a doggy daycare and worked groups of 11-12 large dogs. I also worked in group of 15+ small dogs and "solos" (highly dog aggressive dogs). Working in that environment took me to the next level of understanding cues and dog behavior. I learned to advocate for dogs, look for health and safety warning signs and how to manage group dynamics. I am currently a *human* nurse and making time for animals because that is where I feel I really come alive. :) I believe that animals are part of the family and I will treat them like so. I have basic experience with dog training and I personally believe that dogs thrive in structured and predictable environments. I love exercising and having fun with dogs, too! We have learned new tricks and training skills through classes with a certified trainer. I am by no means a decorated professional, but I am educated and experienced with dogs. No more than one family of dogs at a time for services (up to 2 dogs). I prefer to keep our daily group small, and more one-on-one. Whether I’m there to hang out with your pup, or to take them out and about for the day, potty breaks are a must. If the weather is nice, we may spend our entire time outside!
