“My sister and I were heading to Stowe with our dogs for a ski trip when we found out the house wasn't dog friendly. Oh no! Luckily we found Gwynn who lives close to Stowe. She only takes two dogs at a time which was perfect for my dog and my sister's since they're best friends! Gwynn was great with initial introductions with my somewhat skittish dog and her dogs. We were in contact with her everyday with photos and a video of them frolicking in the snow. She always responded quickly via phone or text. After picking them up, our dogs ended up sleeping the entire next day from having too much fun. My dog in particular did not want to leave Gwynn's chickens! I would highly recommend Gwynn, especially if your dog needs personal attention, lots of exercise and outdoor time.”

Barbara and Darryll are warm, caring people and very responsive to my dogs needs, plus sent regular updates and pictures throughout the stay. My dog is a Belgian Shepherd and can be anxious and at times reactive, but she was relaxed and quiet while staying here. It was ideal because they were home with her most of the time and kept a consistent routine for her. She found her place on a couch by the window so she could watch the squirrels in the yard, just like at home. I felt safe leaving my dogs with such kind people, thank you Barbara and Darryll! About: I've owned and taken care of dogs my entire life. I'm proud to be one of the first people friends and family call when a petsitter is needed. I love walking, and I love dogs. This seems like the perfect opportunity to exercise and get my animal fix! I'm currently working full-time Monday through Friday. I can do evening walks after 5:00 PM (as weather allows) and I can do weekends between 9:00 AM - 6 PM. My current apartment doesn't allow pets, but I can housesit on weekends or in the evenings if the location is somewhat close to my work in Waterbury. I'm a long-time vegetarian, and have always had an extra sensitive heart when it comes to animals. I think that earning an animal's trust is such a privilege and gift, and I honor that. I cannot house pets in my current apartment, but I will follow the guidance and knowledge of the owners in their homes and while on walks.

About: I have spent many overnights at homes while providing pet care. The durations of these stays have been up to a week. I do very well with following clear directions for feeding, medications, as well as other pet care needs. This includes affection and playing— I absolutely love dogs and cats! I am a teacher, which of course is a very busy job. However, I do not work over the summer, which means I have lots of flexibility in these months. I am also available during most weekends! I care for pets in my clients’ homes by following instructions regarding feeding, medications, going outside, as well as anything else that may be necessary! When owners are gone, I recognize it is best for the pets to keep their routines as consistent as possible! I respect any rules clients may have for their pets (e.g. where around they house they are allowed, any dietary limitations, and any necessary precautions to take so that the pets stay safe!)

They should be able to act like a dog and not get in trouble for being joyful. I treat all dogs with respect and sensitivity to their needs - whether they want to run around in the yard after a ball or need quiet time at my feet. I have loved dogs all of my life and am devoted to giving them the lives they deserve. There's no better friend on this earth than a dog. I have always felt like the lucky one to have them in my life. You can be certain that your dog will be lovingly cared for, completely. I do NOT use crates. If you feel a crate is necessary as part of your dog’s routine, please bring it with you. Pick-up/drop-off can be arranged if my schedule allows. I’m also flexible with extended hours if we discuss it in advance, and I won’t charge you if it’s not too extreme! ***I do require proof that vaccines are current - including BORDATELLA (kennel cough) and Rabies vaccines, to protect all pups. If you want a same-day booking, this documentation is still required. Also, I do not accept any dogs/puppies who are currently positive for parasites, even if being treated. Thank you! My days are focused on dogs! My daily plans and choices center on giving dogs the kind of day they deserve. I want them to feel happy and safe. Dogs are allowed throughout the house, there is direct access to the deck and the yard, including a ramp from the deck. I do NOT use crates. If you feel a crate is necessary as part of your dog’s routine, please bring it with you. Very high strung playing dogs may not be a good fit, as I have a three-legged Great Pyrenees. Let’s chat about it and see! No aggressive dogs - your dog must enjoy the company of other dogs and humans. Any history of biting must be disclosed.

About: My parents and friends know they can rely on me for animal sitting. Ive taken care of dogs and cats consistently for 15 years. I have experience with all sized dogs for I’ve helped train my German Shepard and toy poodle alongside with my mom. I am going to be home until mid June but will back to animal in early August. I am very flexible with time as long as I am scheduled 3 days in advanced. The closest main road to my house is 3/4 of mile so cars won’t be an issue. I love trail walking and running which sometimes my dogs will accompany me; there are a lot of no car friendly trails to venture on. I do it all the time with my German Shepard and my neighbors German Shepard who are dog friendly. At home it is easy to give the dogs space to themselves for I have my own room where they can eat and sleep.

About: I have had a passion for animals my whole life, and love getting to care for new pets and their individual needs. I have a dog, cat, and bunny, but it’s not enough so I want to love yours! I follow detailed requests and always promise extra pets. I have a very flexible schedule and work remotely part time. I reply extremely quickly to texts and am ready to answer questions, concerns, and update you with your pets’ photos! I am great with following directions or special requests for pets and am always responsible in your home. I will make sure your fur baby is safe and sound.

About: I've been taking care of pets for two decades and will love them like I love my own. I believe the best way to teach a dog is positive reinforcement and will work with whatever routines you have established with your furry family member. I work from home 3 days per week and the days are flexible except Thursday when I have to be at my office in Montpelier. I can go home on my lunch breaks for walks on the days I'm in the office (and you're close to Montpelier) and can work from your home if I'm housesitting and you have internet. As a gal in her 40s I'm pretty low key and will be very happy spending my time with your pet in your home or taking them on adventures if that's what they prefer. I love hiking and walks and have lots of friends with dogs if socialization is something you'd like for your pup.
