About: I have grown up around all kinds of dogs all of my life. Dogs who are scared of everyone, love everyone they all hold a special place in my heart. I have always wanted to do this ! I am a stay at home mom with two dogs of my own, so I really have a very open Monday-Friday Schedule and I am open to discussing weekends! She made the whole process feel easy and stress-free, which I really appreciated. I was especially worried because she has three dogs, and my Aussie can get a little overwhelmed. But she handled introductions perfectly — slow, one at a time — and my dog adjusted way better than I expected. Fast forward to pickup time… I think my dog may have forgotten who I am Not only was she completely comfortable, but she had already decided that the husband was her human now (and she normally reserves that level of love for my own husband). At one point, he was petting one of his own dogs, and mine started whining like, “Excuse me?? That’s MY attention.” The jealousy was very real. Mom of 6 very used to being around dogs and often help take care of my dog as well. But now we have two cats. I watch them when my family's out of town. I feed them breakfast and dinner. I play with them. I pet them. I have no problem following detailed instructions, and every visit I take pics to show you your fur baby is being well cared for! I am free most mornings before 8:30am and in the evenings after 6pm. On weekends I have more flexibility in my schedule. I’ll be happy to work with you on whatever your scheduling needs are! If a client discusses a list of instructions, I’ll do my best to follow them to the letter. Otherwise, I’ll follow what to me is ideal care for an animal: ensuring they have clean and fresh water, proper food, cleaning litter boxes or taking a dog out for a walk as needed, and spending a little time cuddling and playing (respecting how shy they might be!). If a pet is too shy to play, sometimes I’ll just spend a few minutes sitting on the floor and talking to them in a soothing voice so they can get used to my presence as someone who is friendly. If approved beforehand, I can even bring (or use your own) a few treats! I may also reach out to you if I see something that I think needs addressing (not enough food or litter, a pet seeming lethargic or coughing excessively etc.). If that happens, I’ll discuss with you how you want to handle it. In case of illness, I take my own cats to Wentworth Animal Hospital so, for example, if I saw your cat seemed to be vomiting excessively, if you approved it I would have no problem taking them in for a walk-in and working out the payment and a reasonable rate with you over the phone. The most important thing is to ensure that your fur baby is given the best care possible. :-)
