“Our dog, Shelby just had her 1st stay with Myra and had a good time. I felt better knowing that she was getting some individual attention unlike at much larger kennels that she has stayed at in the past. She got to go on several long walks, which she loves. She also was able to interact with other dogs under Myra's careful observation, which was great for her social skills and keeping her mind off of us being gone. I really liked getting updates and pictures. Also, Myra was flexible with drop off and pick up times. I work 10 minutes away from my home. I have a set time to take my puppy out as he is still going through potty training My apartment is pretty open for the fur babies to room around and I have a small fur baby of my own that can play with! There is a big area of grass around my complex where they can go potty and play and a dog park right up the street.

About: I have had, rescued, and taken care of a wide variety of dogs from smaller malti-poos to a Dane who had been living on the street, was skin and bones, and ended up 188 lbs. Currently I have Pippa, a 7-year-old Labrador who is allergic to chicken, so I make part of her food. I am home most of the time, except when I host overly-complex board games at the Hickory Library or the Highland Rec Center -- and those sessions are at most 3 hours long. I am home most days, except when I am hosting 3-hour board games at the local library and rec center. Otherwise, I take care of our house and rental properties. I have a large fenced yard -- especially-so since my house sits along North Center Street. I also use carabiners to make sure that gates are locked.

The times I work do vary between morning shifts and closing shifts! I want my fur friends and family to feel as safe and cared for as I do in any environment! I want them to feel loved and sometimes extra cuddles are needed… not that I’m complaining! My fur friends get lots of cuddles whenever they want and or need them! It’s important to be mindful of emotions in humans and fur friends!
About: Hi, My name is Chelsea and I have much experience with handling pets. I've grown up with pets and as an adult I care for my pets on a daily basis. I have two dogs who love other animals that I care for daily and a cat that is friendly with dogs. I also have two children that are great with pets and have been around pets their entire lives. “This is the first time I have used DogVacay. I've had my puppy, Zaire, for less then a week when I had to trust in Leslie to stop by and check on him. Leslie came through for my puppy and I in the final hour. I found her the day before I needed her help. We did not have the opportunity to meet in person but we spoke on the phone which helped a LOT. About: My mom got me my first dog when I was 10 years old, and it was from then on that I promised to take care of him the best way I knew how. I have experience administering medication (in pill form, liquid, and gel) to both dogs and cats, even when they don’t want to take it. I have also personally trained my dog to sit, lie down, high five, and on accident, I taught him to get up on his hind legs and beg with his front paws. If there is any special care that your animal needs, I would be more than happy to quickly and efficiently learn and adapt to care for your animal the way they deserve. I am currently job searching, so I will be free almost every weekday with exception for surprise obligations that my family often come to me with. I am not available on the weekends, including friday for various extraneous responsibilities. When I first meet an animal, I get down to their level and extend my hand just enough to offer it as an option for them to investigate, but not enough to shove it it their face. I wait until the dog or cat engages with me before I try to pet them on my own to ensure that they feel comfortable and safe. If your animal has separation anxiety, I would be more than happy to comfort them with calming words and gentle hands for pets and snuggles. I will only feed or give your animal a treat if I am told to do so or given the okay beforehand as I do not want to over feed them or give them a treat you have bought without consent.
