My family and I have always owned dogs; I grew up with them and trained them all my life. Our family is also part of a rescue. So what better way to use our land than to also take care of other people's dogs! We are located in the northern part of Alamance County. We offer 98 acres of land with several walking trails next to a flowing creek, a clean and swimmable pond with a shallow area, a gated outside area with separate runners for the cool days with a nice breeze, and an inside area with luxury crates equipped with barn doors and beds inside of them for all of our furry visitors to relax and feel right at home! Here at our farm called The Retreat, we want your pet to have their own getaway while you have your own getaway! Currently, we are usually available 24 hours a day for your pet. I work from home as a bookkeeper and as a Realtor, so I’m usually here working from home unless I’m running to show a home. While I’m out, I have my wife and the rest of my family to cover my spot until I return. So, your pet should always have someone here to care for them! Here, your pet will always have someone to care for them throughout the day, so you can trust they are in the best of hands. We also understand that it’s a lot of land, so we offer clip-on air tags for your dog's collar while they stay here for extra safety and surveillance. About: I work from home and am an animal caregiver. My youngest is 18 (autistic) and doesn't interact with pets much, outside of his cat Figaro. He always has better things to do like gaming (LOL). So I won’t have a problem with pets that don’t like children. My husband breeds Cocker Spaniels. We have 2 cocker spaniels in the house along with my Dalmatian. Plus, 2 cats in the house. We always have puppy pads available for pets that are puppy pad trained. We also have a variety of sized crates that will fit your animal if they are crate trained and you wish for it to be used. I don’t mind following strict schedules or rules. I believe every pet owner has their own rules and how they want their pet to be trained. I don’t mind giving medications or shots your pet might need. I’m really flexible if you have any questions I’d be happy to answer them. I look forward to meeting you! I usually only board on days that my husband works for the time being. It's just easier that way but if you need more days I'm sure we can work something out I work from home Mon thru Fri 9:30 to 5:30 so during my work hours my pets go out to the bathroom 3 times during my breaks. Because most of my work is on phone calls for nonprofits (PBS & NPR), my donors cannot know I work from home. My dog's know to be quiet during my work hours so if your dog is a big barker it wouldn't work out.

That’s where being a dog trainer comes in handy and the dogs can have fun while being in a calm state of mind! 😉🧘♀️💗🐾 I have three large dog yards- two are fenced in with 6ft privacy fence, and one yard is 6ft chain link fence. They can go potty, play, sun bathe, play in the dog pool, or just enjoy the fresh air. This is also nice if your dog isn’t aloud around other dogs- they will have their own large area to do their business and enjoy their time outdoors in a safe private area too!! 😌❤️ Cats love it here too! 🐈🐈⬛ your furry baby will get to enjoy toys, lick mats, cat castles and scratching boards. Even some cat nip if they’d like 🤪😸, and plenty of cuddles to “make biscuits”. 🥰🐾 If your dog can’t be around other dogs or cats, that is no problem here. I have plenty of room to give dogs and cats their own private space to still keep them at peace and accommodate to their needs during their stay! I like to match personalities within dogs so they can make great friends while they are on their vacation too!! I work a 2-2-3 schedule 12 hours a day meaning that I am off two days, on two days and off 3 days then vice versa the next week. The 12 hour shift pays off because that means I only work half a month! That leaves so much open time and that is why I have been able to tend to the current pets in my neighborhood so well. I have a Pomeranian named Bobby and he is my baby. I spoil him all the time and make sure that he is well taken car of whether he has to go outside at 2pm or 3am, I am out there! I give treats for rewards within moderation and love on him all the time. Your pets will get lots of love with me and I will make sure that they are well taken care of while still having fun. Bobby is a senior dog so I am always gentle with him because he also has a disability, so I will also be able to manage that if your dog has a disability as well. I walk Bobby twice a day and play with him a lot on the days that I am off because that is what continues the strengthen our bond.

I currently have 2 adopted fur baby dogs in my home. 1 neutered male 9 years old and 1 spayed female 7 years old both of medium size.
