My family and I have always owned dogs; I grew up with them and trained them all my life. Our family is also part of a rescue. So what better way to use our land than to also take care of other people's dogs! We are located in the northern part of Alamance County. We offer 98 acres of land with several walking trails next to a flowing creek, a clean and swimmable pond with a shallow area, a gated outside area with separate runners for the cool days with a nice breeze, and an inside area with luxury crates equipped with barn doors and beds inside of them for all of our furry visitors to relax and feel right at home! Here at our farm called The Retreat, we want your pet to have their own getaway while you have your own getaway! Currently, we are usually available 24 hours a day for your pet. I work from home as a bookkeeper and as a Realtor, so I’m usually here working from home unless I’m running to show a home. While I’m out, I have my wife and the rest of my family to cover my spot until I return. So, your pet should always have someone here to care for them! Here, your pet will always have someone to care for them throughout the day, so you can trust they are in the best of hands. We also understand that it’s a lot of land, so we offer clip-on air tags for your dog's collar while they stay here for extra safety and surveillance. About: I’ve taken care of animals for as long as I can remember. My mother was a dog sitter when I was younger so that has made me comfortable around most if not all breeds. I would help her with the feeding while she took them out. Now that I’m older I have two huskies and a cat. My goal is to eventually have farm animals, mainly as pets 😂. So, my love for animals is quite enormous. I do currently work from home M-F. I can give potty breaks every 2-3 hours while working. Since I work from home your pet would have to be well mannered while I’m on the phone. They of course will be welcomed to lay around me while working and will be loved on the entire time 😊. I have a huge yard, 2 acres worth. About 1/2 an acre is fenced in for the dogs. I have 2 spunky huskies well one tends to be more lazy than anything and I have a cat that loves our dogs.

I am an avid hiker but if she/he is more of a couch potato, that works too. I have cared for puppies, adult and senior dogs, kittens, adult and senior cats with medication needs on several occasions. Shy and senior pets are my specialties! I have two senior female dogs at home that I’ve had since they were puppies and three rambunctious short hair cats. When they were younger we would walk Battleground Park and the various trails in Eden or around the lakes in Greensboro. I am available for drop-ins and long or short walks. “This was my first time boarding my Aussie, and I was honestly a bit nervous — but she did an amazing job reassuring me from the start. She made the whole process feel easy and stress-free, which I really appreciated. I was especially worried because she has three dogs, and my Aussie can get a little overwhelmed. But she handled introductions perfectly — slow, one at a time — and my dog adjusted way better than I expected. Fast forward to pickup time… I think my dog may have forgotten who I am Not only was she completely comfortable, but she had already decided that the husband was her human now (and she normally reserves that level of love for my own husband). At one point, he was petting one of his own dogs, and mine started whining like, “Excuse me?? That’s MY attention.” The jealousy was very real. So overall: ✅ Great communication and reassurance ✅ Thoughtful, safe dog introductions ✅ Happy, well-adjusted pup ❗ Slight risk your dog will try to move in permanently Would absolutely book again — just emotionally preparing myself for the betrayal next time”
