She sent frequent updates with pictures of him playing with her sweet pups and going for regular walks which made me feel so much better! About: I grew up in a home full of pets, so caring for dogs has always been a part of my daily life. I have years of hands-on experience walking dogs, providing playtime and companionship, and making sure they feel safe and loved. In addition to caring for my own pets, I’ve also dog-sat for friends and family, giving me experience with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I treat every dog as if they were my own and always focus on making their time with me fun, comfortable, and stress-free. I am currently interning part-time in Manteo, so I am available on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings, and my schedule is open during all other days of the week. I care for pets by following their usual routines as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure. For walks and drop-in visits, I make sure dogs get plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention while always prioritizing their safety. I’m careful with leashes, aware of their surroundings, and attentive to each dog’s energy level and needs. In a client’s home, I treat both the pets and the space with respect—keeping areas clean, refreshing food and water, and making sure pets are happy and relaxed before I leave. About: My family has always had pets within the house, typically dogs but also various cats as well! During COVID, we adopted a puppy and I was pretty much the main caretaker as I was in virtual school while my parents had to go into work. My younger siblings helped out a bit but I was definitely more trustworthy with the dog. That puppy grew into a 100 lb mutt who is such a teddy bear! In college, my roommate got a Chiweenie, much smaller than my family dogs, but helping out with him helped show me the various energy levels of dogs and the differing enrichment each pet needs! Last October, I adopted a hound mix of my own! She is my best friend and caring for her and interacting with other dog owners has influenced me into looking for helping out with others’ pets!! I’m on a break from my part time employment until April 11th. After that, I will work 40 hours a week, Wednesday through Sunday, with me being off Mondays & Tuesdays. I live in Nags Head but love to commute, my dog as well! So we’re often walking around the neighborhood in the morning then going on a more adventurous walk such as Jockey’s Ridge or the dog park if the sun allows! My dog personally needs a lot of sniffing time so if I’m unable to get a long distance walk in, a good sniffing walk tends to get her sleepy enough to settle. Sometimes I’ll pop by during my hour long lunch break to say hey and give her a puzzle treat game, but not always. I have a fenced in deck that I often let my dog out on. My dog is incredibly friendly and will play with dogs of all sizes, from Dachshunds to Great Danes! She plays rough, so if that’s not your dog’s play style, let me know! I’m willing to take all dogs to the various dog parks around or walk them throughout any terrains, and times! If I’m walking at night, I try to make sure I stay away from popular rods, typically sticking to my neighborhood and always have a large flashlight on hand. I’m very flexible & willing to do many things so don’t hesitate to ask for a certain activity or accommodation if I didn’t mention it!

I have two dogs of my own so I have the experience with all different breeds and personality. ***If making a overnight house sitting request, I usually have to bring my two dogs*** I work full time from home but do have to go into the office some days for a few hours. I will crate dogs when leaving home every time for their safety. They will be loved and fed just like my own! Can provide excercise if needed, but will not exercise if it is to hot. My previous rescues, Bailey and Kira, passed away of old age and it took several years but in January of 2021 I adopted Sprinkles, a lab-hound mix who is approximately 2-ish years old and 50lbs. She gets along well with all dogs and loves to play! She can be rambunctious so if your dog is mellow, she will get on their nerves. I grew up with dobermans and I regularly watch my bff's 10lb small dog (and Sprinkles' friend) so I'm used to dogs both big and small. Nothing phases me - I can administer medication and subcutaneous fluids and can follow complicated feeding instructions - some of our furry friends are finicky! I love the bond formed when walking dogs - it's very special. My home is pet-friendly, with a small fenced-in backyard. Your dog will have a lovely time and I will be thrilled to take care of them! I am a realtor with a very flexible work schedule so there will be a lot of 1:1 time with your pet. We have sidewalks everywhere and a dog park within walking distance (only if you give the ok). I set an alarm and feed them breakfast and dinner consistently at the same time - it typically provides a calming effect when staying in a new place. I can let them out first AM in the backyard and after that it will be walks in and outside of Bermuda Bay, with lots of great sniffs!

Ex: if you drop off Monday at 7am and pick up Friday at 6pm it will be 230$. 5 days @ 30/day=150, 4 nights @ 20/night= 80. Combine the 2 for 230. Simple dog visits 30 min and under 10$. I can easily crate the pup/s if that is what the pet owners wish for me to do. I mostly offer drop-in services and stay at the original home for pet comfort.

“Michelle took great care of our pup! We have a 16-month old lab-mix with medium/high energy, and she kept her safe, active, and entertained. She was also flexible with our travel schedule which was massively helpful. Much more reasonable/affordable rates compared to other Rovers in the area. No idea how people justify $75 - $100+ nightly rates; seems outrageous, IMO. Anyways, not much more you can ask for or expect! Great experience all around. Will not hesitate to book with her again if/when the need arises.”
