About: Hello all! My name is Melissa and I've been working with animals most of my life and have so loved being able to do so! On top of being a pet owner all my life, I've been an avid horseback rider which meant I was always barn sitting and pet sitting from a young age. If your fur baby gets dirty playing in the yard, we will give the a bath (with your permission of course). About: I have met so many awesome fur babies working through Rover and I love each and every one of them. It's always so much fun getting to know a new pet friend especially dogs. I have had dogs my entire life. I have taken in numerous dogs from puppies to older dogs. We also rescued kittens and cared for them from birth to old age. I have experience caring for puppies and kittens and elderly pets with complex health issues. I just love animals and I've passed on that love for animals to my children. About: I started taking care of the family dog a few years ago. With him, I administered medication in a positive way and helped train him. I am comfortable using a harness and a regular collar. I also helped train my senior dog on his reactivity with positive reinforcement. Currently, I am on summer break. I work as a teacher during the school year, so my availability for the next few months is open. At my apartment, my roommate’s dog I take out every 2-3 hours and I give him lots of cuddles. I currently do Rover full-time, but have worked at a dog boarding/training facility and have worked with/handled dogs of all sizes and breeds. Although I have more experience around dogs I love cats just as much! I have no issues with certain breeds, ages, sizes, or handling medicine (so long as it is nothing a professional vet should handle). I can’t wait to watch and care for your fur babies! I pet-sit full time, giving me plenty of free time to walk, watch, and love your pets! My schedule is also very flexible making it easier to schedule based off your needs! I do have my own dog but unfortunately she is not friendly with other animals. Because of this I can only do daycare/overnight at clients own homes and walks/check-ins. I have plenty of personal and professional experience with aggressive animals and have no issues watching/walking aggressive dogs so long as both me and you are comfortable with it. With that being said it is important to me that any aggressive behavior whether with animals and/or people is told upfront and honestly as well meeting the dog ahead of time.

“Karyssa & Michael provided a 10/10 stay for Meijor! I needed someone on a last minute notice to watch him and they were there for me. Karyssa was very nice and accommodating! She gave Meijor plenty of attention and play time throughout the day. What I appreciated most Maryssa was the constant pictures and updates throughout Meijor’s stay. Whether it was after a walk or play time she kept us up to date on how he was doing. She really treated Meijor like her own! Will 100% be using them again and would recommend them to anyone!”
