“We were so fortunate that Amanda was available last minute for us. We traveled from Virginia to NC to visit family with our Australian shepherd mix, Josie. We had intended to take Josie on all our outings with us. It was just way too hot to keep her out all day, so we got on Rover (we have used it at home numerous times) and were lucky enough to find Amanda. Josie enjoyed playing with her children and the family pets as well. We know she was much happier there that being out in the heat all day. Amanda responded quickly to our request and took great care of Josie. We would definitely use her again.”

About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember! Growing up, I was surrounded by all kinds of pets—from dogs and cats to hamsters and rats—and I’ve always loved caring for animals. I’ve also had the opportunity to foster kittens and gain hands-on experience with a variety of pets. My mom was a veterinary technician for 30 years, so I grew up learning a lot about animal care, behavior, and what it means to keep pets happy and healthy. At 18, I started my own pet-sitting business back home in Connecticut. When I moved out of state, I left the business behind, but I’ve always wanted to get back into pet sitting—and now feels like the perfect time! I currently have two cats and two ball pythons of my own. My schedule is also very flexible right now, which means I’m able to give your pets plenty of time, attention, and care. My cat, abandoned as a 4-5 month old kitten, has his share of issues and doesn't handle well meeting new people. But when Lindsay came to meet him, he didn't hide and actually let her pet him. My husband is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) and a combat veteran and former military police K9 handler who trained civilian police dogs. Because of his veterinary background, I’m also able to consult with him when behavior questions may have a possible medical component, which can sometimes play a role in behavior. I also understand that dogs live in real families with real challenges. I live with multiple sclerosis and am raising an autistic four-year-old, so I appreciate how important it is for training to be practical, realistic, and supportive of the household environment. My goal is always to help create calmer, safer, and more enjoyable relationships between dogs and the people who love them. One thing that’s very important to me is paying attention to canine body language and stress signals. Dogs communicate constantly through subtle changes in posture, facial expression, and movement, and recognizing those signals early can prevent many behavior problems from escalating. During training, I help owners learn how to recognize what their dog is communicating so they can respond in a way that builds trust, confidence, and better behavior over time. Dog training is part of my regular weekly routine, and I intentionally keep my schedule structured so each client receives focused attention. My current training availability is: • Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM • Wednesday: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM • Thursday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM • Saturday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM • Sunday: Afternoon appointments available by request Closed: Monday and Friday Because each dog and family has unique needs, I limit the number of training sessions I take each week so I can provide thoughtful, individualized guidance and follow-up support between sessions. About: I have taken care of dogs and cats frequently since middle school, often in house sitting settings as well. I have had dogs throughout my entire life and have many friends with cats and have spent ample time with them. I have dealt with numerous animals with health issues or problems, including older pets and puppies. I am currently a full-time student at Coastal Carolina University and play club volleyball. I have always worked and played a sport full time alongside school, and after transferring here recently, I have found myself with time for a job. With a schedule that makes my routine look different day by day I have found this would be a great fit as I can be flexible in working with clients. My weekends are free and I have lots of longer gaps throughout my day between classes which could be valuable to those who have to leave their pets for long periods of time. I'm from colorado so going home is not an option for me often and widens my availbilty. I have experience working in apartments, houses, ect of all kinds. Often my pet care includes house sitting which I am very comfortable with. I understand the value and basic decency of respect to others homes and possesions. The golden rule is a fundamental aspect of how I operate in my day to day and I would never do something I wouldnt want done to me, my pets or my home. I am a very honest person and would not hesitate to communicate anything that happens in my time with clients pets or their homes. Honesty is the best policy and valuable in maintinging proper care. I am a great problem solver and have lots of experience with handling conflict. About: I’ve cared for and owned animals of all kinds. I have experienced in Dog, Cat, and some reptile care. I promise to provide a safe environment for your pets while keeping open communication and providing regular updates. I’m currently a college student who is working part time in Wilmington. Due to that my availability is limited to Friday-Sunday anytime rain or shine For all clients I will provide the same level of care that i do for my own pets constant play, supervision, and potty breaks. About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember! Growing up, I was surrounded by all kinds of pets—from dogs and cats to hamsters and rats—and I’ve always loved caring for animals.
