About: I have over 30 years experience taking care of dogs and will provide the love and care they need in their new "home away from home". I have a whole house generator so in case of storms, there will be no interruption in service. I am a very active individual and typically walk at least 3-5 miles per day with my little toy fox terrier. I am a nature lover and frequent the area's hiking trails and love to get out on the beach. I prepare my dog's meals using all natural ingredients (whole foods) and make a very healthy bone broth and organic barley. With parental permission I can use this as topper for your dog's kibble. I am a retired school teacher and am available year round. I am basically home all the time when I am not out on the nature trails. I would prefer sitting for dogs that weigh 30 pounds or less. Your fur baby will receive the love and attention it deserves from Caring Karen. I am a retired school teacher and when I am not out on the nature trails walking dogs, I am at home cooking or gardening. Your dog will receive lots of love and attention from Caring Karen. I have a fenced-in side yard and a gated back deck. My house is set back on a wooded lot with lots of shade. I live in a very quiet and safe neighborhood on a private road that is a dead-end. I’ve been working on and off through rover for about 8 years now but have much more experience pet sitting aside from rover (if you’re wondering why there are only a few recorded sits on my profile). If your animal needs special care such as medication, diaper/pad changing, extra exercise, etc, it’s no hassle at all on my end and I’m experienced with all of these and more! I’m comfortable sitting any animal and I’m comfortable with pet/house sitting that requires me to stay over at the house or visit the house. I completely understand any requirements that ensure the pet’s comfort or your peace of mind :) Feel free to ask me any questions! About: I have been a Yorkie, schnauzer or spaniel owner for years and just love the little furry family members. Currently Maggie May (my sweet rescue) and I love the opportunity to walk, keep and cuddle your "family member". I even make dog biscuits for the cutie pies if their owners give the okay. I’m currently attending Unity Environmental University, working toward my Bachelor of Science in Companion Animal Behavior. My program is fully online, which means I can bring my laptop with me and easily keep up with coursework during overnight stays or extended sits. I strictly follow the guidelines and routines you provide, because you know your pets best. When no specific instructions are given, I use a thoughtful, age-appropriate schedule for dogs and cats at different life stages. In general, I focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and engaged: walking and playtime, refilling food and water according to your specifications, cleaning up any messes, and providing baths when needed. About: I have been taking care of cats and dogs since about the age of 12. Growing up I would help look after my family, friends and neighbors animals when needed. I would help watch over the pets, feed them, take them on walks, and play with them for as long as needed! I am currently unemployed so I am available at any time of the day any day! About: Updated: 09/04/2025 I’ve always owned multiple pets and have taken care of neighbor’s pets since I was 11. I’ve been working on and off through rover for about 8 years now but have much more experience pet sitting aside from rover (if you’re wondering why there are only a few recorded sits on my profile). If your animal needs special care such as medication, diaper/pad changing, extra exercise, etc, it’s no hassle at all on my end and I’m experienced with all of these and more! I’m comfortable sitting any animal and I’m comfortable with pet/house sitting that requires me to stay over at the house or visit the house. I completely understand any requirements that ensure the pet’s comfort or your peace of mind :) Feel free to ask me any questions! I care for pets in my own home which gives me more insight to both caring for the pet and understanding the perspective of an owner. This also unfortunately means I can’t board pets at my own house.
