“It was great working with Jill. She communicated well with me during the process, and sent me pictures of Trex while I was away from him. I am confident to say that this will be one of many more visits with Jill in the future.”

“Jimena was excellent! She has such a lovely and welcoming space for taking care of pets, and she is incredibly kind and attentive. Enzo had a great day with her, and we felt very comfortable knowing he was in such good hands. We would absolutely recommend her and would happily book with her again.”

“Carola is a wonderful pet sitter & always takes great care of our Susie! Susie is very fond of Carola & Carola keeps me posted with pics & texts. We wouldn’t consider using any other sitter 😊”

“Amanda was wonderful. She was so easy and flexible with our meet and greet. Sent pictures and updates on McKenzie. We were able to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing McKenzie was happy playing with her dog and snuggling with her boys. You know your dog was happy when she wasn’t in any hurry to get in the car to go home. I will absolutely use Amanda again!”

“Laura was wonderful with our mini Bernedoodle! We felt so comfortable knowing that he was in a safe and happy environment. She sent us texts and photos throughout his stay so that we could keep up with how he was doing. We will definitely call on Laura the next time we are in the area! 5 stars!!”

About: As a former veterinary assistant, I have years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and some exotics. As well as dog sitting for friends. But before that, I grew up an animal lover, naturally. From when I was young until now, I’m known for bringing in lost or injured animals— whether it’s a dog or an owl, no animal left behind, friends. ✌️ I have a bachelors in Biology/pre-veterinary science and for the last 11 years I’ve lived on a farm in old beech mountain community with 2 dogs, chickens, and help with my neighbors cattle when I can. I’m familiar with numerous dog breeds and knowledgeable on all ages. From puppy training to complicated senior care, I’ve walked through just about it all. But more importantly, I’ll love your babies as my own. They will be snuggled (if they’re into that) and have plenty of yard to run and explore. *because of my sons cat allergies/asthma, I cannot bring cats into my home. But I’m more than happy to do a drop-by visit to yours to care for them there. I’m currently working more remote days for the summer so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I’ll keep my calendar updated with my switching working schedule. But weekends are almost always open! I have plenty of yard for them to run around and explore, as well as 2 very friendly dogs of my own to keep them company. Or if they’re a couch potato, I have one of those too and plenty of couch. I’m a homebody so I will be home with them. If you have special care instructions, that’s not a problem at all.
“Katy was great! She was very communicative and willing to flexible about drop off time/location. She sent some updates and pics of Bender, and he was healthy and happy when we picked him up.”

About: I’ve always been an animal lover, from horses to reptiles! I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, and some of the others throughout. We recently lost our dog to cancer at just shy of 13 years old, and I’m currently volunteering as a dog walker at the animal shelter to help fill that void. With the limited hours available there, I thought we could try this avenue as well. I work full time, but my daughter and I would love to find a dog to walk Wednesday through Friday evenings, or weekends! We are available some weekends for dog/cat care while you’re away as well. We love walking dogs, playing fetch, petting them, and providing lots of love. We enjoy playing with cat toys, and giving them plenty of attention as well.
About: I have taken care of animals ever since I was younger. I would get paid to walk dogs around my neighborhood and to check on cats. I love hanging out and loving on all animals! Being in college, it makes it hard to have one of my own, but this will allow me to opportunity to be around all the animals that I love! I treat and love your pets as if they are my own! You can expect the best care and love for your pets when you book with me! I love to send tons of pictures to pet parents to ease their minds when they are away from their fur babies! Also, forgive the last picture on profile unsure how it got in there and why it is there! Can’t delete it either. :) I just graduated from Wake Forest University, where I played volleyball. Volleyball taught me a lot about discipline and also shows that I am a very reliable person when it comes to scheduling and time management. I am a current graduate student in the SLP (speech-language pathology) program at App State and am available most evenings and all weekends! At school there is plenty of grass for the dogs to run around and I am able to bring the crate and everything into my apartment if needed. Cats, I am also available to do whatever is helpful and needed! I have my own space with no other animals!
“I cannot say enough good things about Samuel and Erica! This was my first time boarding my dog, and I was incredibly nervous—but they made the entire experience amazing from start to finish. A few days before the stay, they invited me over for a meet-and-greet so I could get a feel for their home, meet them, and introduce my dog to their sweet pup, Lana. The moment I walked in, I knew they were the right people. Their space was welcoming, safe, and dog-friendly, and their kind energy instantly put me at ease. Throughout the stay, they went above and beyond. They sent frequent updates and lots of pictures, which made me smile every time. It was so comforting to see my dog happy, relaxed, and having a blast with Lana. When my dog didn’t want to eat at first, they reached out right away and kept me posted until she finally finished her dinner—something I really appreciated as a nervous first-timer. When I picked her up, she was completely worn out—in the best way! After three days of nonstop play and attention, she came home happy, tired, and clearly had the time of her life. Samuel and Erica treated my dog exactly how I would want her to be treated—with love, patience, and genuine care. They communicated wonderfully, kept me in the loop the whole time, and truly felt like people I could trust completely. I’ll absolutely be booking with them again. Highly, highly recommend!”

“Hannah is the BEST!!! Highly recommended. I immediately felt like I was dealing with someone who has it together which gave me peace of mind that Moses was in good hands. She was friendly, communicative, and sent photos and updates. At no point was I worried about my sweet pooch. Thank you, Hannah. You’re greatly appreciated.”

About: “I’ve had dogs as companions since I was a child, and they’ve always been cherished members of my family. I treat every animal in my care like family, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away.” “Pet care is a natural part of my daily life, not just a job, but something I truly love. Living in the Appalachian mountains has taught me the value of a calm, grounded lifestyle, and I bring that same peaceful energy into the care I provide. I treat every pet like family and pay close attention to their unique personality and needs, whether they’re playful, shy, elderly, or needing extra comfort while you’re away. My goal is always to help pets feel safe, loved, and at home in my care.” “I care for every pet with the same attentiveness and love that I give my own children. Safety, trust, and comfort are always my top priorities, and I work hard to create a calm, dependable environment where pets feel secure and cared for.

“Our pup Kalvin had a great week with Melissa and her family! It was my first time leaving my dog for an extended period of time and she made me feel very comfortable. She sent me photos and gave me update everyday! 10/10 service!”
“Do you want your pets to feel so at home and comfortable that they are upset when they leave? Mark's house is the place to be! Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mark helped us on short notice and was able to provide us peace and reassurance that our babies were cared for! Mark kept our male and female German Shepherds, and they had an absolute blast. Mark sent us multiple photos and videos and kept us very up-to-date on what they were doing throughout their visit. He asked questions about their personalities and needs that showcased his care and attention to detail. With his knowledge and experience with German Shepherds, it really shined in the care he provided them! I would definitely recommend Mark, and especially recommend Mark to people with German Shepherds or working line dogs! We and our babies would love to use Mark again!”

“This was my first time leaving my dog with a Dog Sitter and it went amazing! If I ever go on a long vacation again, I would rebook with Jacades! Communication was excellent, and she constantly kept us updated. I would 110% recommend to anyone looking for a Dog Sitter.”

“Excellent care. Fran went above and beyond caring for our dog. He had tummie issues while we were gone and Fran even cooked special food for him and fixed the problem. Her communication was very informative the entire time. Fran even went to our vet for ear drops. Wow! We could not have found a better sitter than her. A real GEM!!!!”

“Callie was great with our little Frankie. I admit we were a little nervous since we have never been away from him since he was adopted, but Callie kept us informed and sent the cutest pictures to help us feel at ease. I would definitely recommend her. She is so sweet and her house was quiet and homey, which is exactly what our Frankie needed. We will be using her again in the future.”

Cat caregivers near you - Balm

About: Until 6 years ago I've ALWAYS had a kitty of my own since I was 13. Usually just one sometimes 2 or 3 and the one time 2 adults and 5 babies. My absolute favorite is male tabbys especially the big body ones lol. Just something about those chunky orange kitties I can't resist.

“Pheobe was super easy to work with and did a great job with our three cats. She handled kitty digestive issues and wild kitten energy with grace and even kept the house tidy in the midst of cat chaos! Would recommend ☺️”

“Sarah is so kind and was great with taking care of my cats (2 cats and one being diabetic)! She was very communicative and consistently sent photos/updates. My cats warmed up to her so quickly upon meeting her. Would definitely recommend and rebook again!”

About: I’m waiting for the day I can own my own cat but until then I am all yours (and your cats). I strive to always personalize the care I give and will work with you to make sure I am able to give your cat everything they want and need. I have cared for many different breeds and personalities and my favorite thing is to find out what I can do for them to trust me. Having that breakthrough is essential.

About: I've been taking care of my kitty girl, Ruby, for over 13 years, feeding, cleaning, brushing and bathing her. Shes temperamental so trust me, I can handle any cat. I've helped watch neighbors cats while their gone, and have even worked at Safe Haven; a volunteer cat shelter off of Durant Rd.

About: I have years of hands-on experience caring for cats through both personal ownership and volunteer work. I previously owned cats and currently volunteer at my local animal shelter, where I help care for cats with a variety of personalities, ages, and needs. Whether a cat is playful, shy, or prefers quiet companionship, I take the time to earn their trust and help them feel safe and comfortable. I understand the importance of maintaining their routine, providing fresh food and water, cleaning litter boxes, and giving each cat the attention and care they deserve. My goal is to provide dependable, stress-free care so both you and your cat have peace of mind.
About: I’ve always had a love for animals and understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. I take the time to get to know each pet so they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away. Whether it’s playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I treat every pet like they’re my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in loving, reliable hands. As a college student, I don’t have the time to have a pet of my own right now, so pet sitting is the perfect way for me to spend time with animals while helping other pet owners. I genuinely enjoy caring for pets, whether that means going on walks, playing, or simply keeping them company. Pet care fits well into my schedule, and I love being able to give pets the attention and care they deserve while their owners are away. I primarily provide care in my clients’ homes because I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and lots of love and attention. I also make sure their home stays clean and secure while they’re away. If I care for a pet in my own home, I’ll provide a safe, calm, and pet-friendly environment where they receive plenty of supervision, exercise, and affection.
“Anna is very nice, professional and loves animals. I could tell Solo enjoyed her company when she sent me a photo of him when she came over. I felt very comfortable letting her come in my home while I was away and will be using her services again without hesitation.”

“Megan and Josh were absolutely amazing house sitters! They took the best care of my girl Khloe, sent me daily photo updates, and left the house way cleaner than it was before. Highly, highly recommend!”

“Sydney is amazing!! She helped me out with my puppy very last minute. She always came on time and followed instructions perfectly! Even though my dog gave her some difficulty in the beginning she was patient and quickly made him feel very comfortable with her. She always sent photos and updates with each visit. I highly recommend her! We cannot thank you enough!”

Perfect for high energy dogs - Balm
“Jimena took good care of our dog while we went to explore Grandfather Mountain and they only allow dogs in the nature discover center if one has a service dog. Next time we return to Boone, we will definitely reach out to Jimena especially when we plan to explore areas that do not allow fur babies. She created a lovely space for dogs to run and or relax. Thanks Jimena.”

“Carola was an awesome host. We met her the day before and she put our minds at ease as this was the first time we left Penny at a daycare. Penny had a wonderful day with Carola and some other dogs. Thank you!”

“We’re expecting our first child so it was so important to find the right sitter to watch our fur baby! He had a great time I loved receiving the pictures. I can’t thank Jill and her family enough!!!”

“Laura watched our 3 year old Golden Retriever for a couple hours while we were dropping our kids off at a nearby camp. She was very kind and responsive and took great care of him! Thank you!”

“Sherrie was so sweet to my young dog! I dropped my dog, Rosie, off for doggy daycare while I went to work. I picked her up around 4pm and she was exhausted! Sherrie has a great outdoor space with a huge yard and kept me updated with pictures of her playing fetch with my dog all day! She was a phenomenal Rover!”

About: Hello! My name is Kelley and I have lots of furry children. I have four Siberian Huskies and a Shiba Inu and they make life fun and adventurous! I have experience working with cats and dogs of all sizes and behaviors. I also have experience caring for rabbits as I had my own. Growing up I volunteered at the VCA Adoption center where we took care of the animals looking for homes and spent a few years of my adult life volunteering and running a rescue. I absolutely love animals and treat all exactly as I would want someone to treat my own. 😁 I am available most evenings after 4PM or anytime on Thursdays. I try to be as flexible as I can for last minute bookings to assist in any way I can. My entire front yard is fenced in with 6ft chain link fencing. It has a mini agility course as a fun activity for the dogs. I also have extra crates and can crate if/when needed. If I am coming to your home I will treat it and your pets with love and respect.

“Melissa was great. We were traveling with our dog and wanted to bike the Virginia Creeper Trail. Melissa's house was about 20 min from the bike rental shop in Damascus, and it worked out perfectly to drop off our dog for a few hours while we biked. She has a big fenced in the back yard.”

“Amber did a great job taking care of our 10 lb poodle! She has a very friendly dog of her own and took special care introducing them to one another! Her home is clean, neat and cozy! We did doggy day care she walked Lucky 2 times in four hours! When we found out we’d be late on the pick up, she responded immediately and said no problem! We’ll definitely use her again should our need arise! Thank you Amber!”

About: Hello! I am Katrina. I am a recent graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Recreation Management and a double minor in Non Profit Organizations and Animal Sciences. I am located in Clover, SC. I absolutely adore animals; that love started from our family dog, my yorkshire terrier, Buddy. I have a lot of different availability so definitely feel free to contact me and so we can work something out. I love meeting new people and pets. I have not only taken care of my own dog but many of my friend pets as well. In addition to that, I have experience working at a doggy daycare and grooming salon along with field experiences from school with a multitude of farm animals. I am a super quick learner and am so excited to meet many new animals. :) I am Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid/CPR certified and Pet Emergency Academy Reptile, Amphibian, Avian, and Small Mammal Emergency First Aid Certified. I am looking to build my pet care experience with doing Rover along with my job. My schedule is flexible which is why I’m always open to communication, figuring out how I can help you and your pet. I will follow any instruction you give me. I am comfortable crating a dog if uncomfortable situations arise. Reading body language is something I think is super important and practice often when handling animals. Constant check ins while I am with your pet is also essential in my care.
About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life since I was a toddler. I have fostered, pet sat for friends and family many times and recently lost my own dog of 13 years. I recently retired and miss having a pup in my life. I’m available and flexible for daily walks as well as able to provide boarding in my home. I am very attentive and loving toward all fur babies. I’m a firm believer that exercise and interactive play is essential in developing a bond with each pup.

Reach out to me for details on my availability and I’ll see what I can do for scheduling. This will help us ensure I will have plenty of time to care for your pet. About: Hi! I'm Megan! As a former Kennel/Vet Tech with Vet Tech schooling and growing up with dogs, cats, horses and chickens, I have always had a special bond and connection to animals. I have experience with all kinds of different breeds and personalities! As a stay at home mom with a husband who works from home, I have a lot of flexibility and availability in my schedule! I would love to help out with drop-ins and dog walks! I take the safety of your pets and the care of your home very serious. If you have pets that require special attention or have high anxiety, I’m there to ensure everyone is safe, relaxed, and taken care of. I care for your pets as if they were my own and you can be rest assured they'll not only have their needs met, but be loved, played with and given plenty of attention as well!
About: Animals just relax around me. I’ve worked with many pet owners who are apprehensive to leave their pets with anyone due to the pet’s nervous temperaments, and other various quirks, and every single time the animals have surprised their owners by completely settling in with me. I prioritize play, love, and connecting with each individual pet I watch however they specifically need. I’ve looked after animals of all breeds, ages, & temperaments- from anxious & fussy older pets to energetic young puppies. I have experience administering medications to sick animals, hand feeding injured puppies, walking several pets at once, and managing dogs & cats that are a bit wild. I’ve even cared for lizards, turtles, fish, plants (haha), hamsters, birds, & rabbits. Whatever their needs, I will make sure they feel safe, loved, & at home while they’re with me. I am a potter who works from my home studio, and I make my own schedule- so I can generally be flexible and accommodate your pets needs. I love having pets in my home, and breaking away from my studio to get some fresh air and puppy/kitty love too! If I’m working on a big project, it’s nice to have to flexibility to come and go from my studio when possible, or have your pet there with me- but I have worked out all kinds of house sit/drop in/boarding arrangements according to the needs of clients and their pets. Let’s talk! I live in a peaceful home with a large fenced in backyard, and nice quiet streets to walk with your pet as needed. I will follow whatever routines you generally stick to and prefer when working with your animals. Give me all the details of your needs and preferences, boundaries and particulars- no matter what type of sit- so I can be sure you and your pet(s) feel a sense of trust, ease, and predictability.

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life! I’ve done everything from fostering to raising litters of puppies and kittens. I’m an active person so there is no shortage of playtime. I’m very dedicated to providing the love and support pets need! Caring for pets is always a priority of mine as I currently own a dog and cat myself. I work part time so my schedule is very flexible. I have a spare bedroom in my house with a large mattress for pets to rest on. There is space for a crate if needed. My backyard is very spacious. My area is fairly quiet as I live outside the city. I also have a very friendly dog and cat so your pets can have new friends (can be separated if needed).

About: I have 10+ years of experience with cat and dog sitting, and also have experience caring for farm animals (I've worked on several farms). I’m comfortable and experienced working with pets of a variety of ages, from young kittens to older senior pups. I am available for pet sitting gigs in your home most days of the week. I also offer doggy day care and overnight boarding in my home Thursday afternoons through Sundays. I’m a flexible and responsive sitter, please reach out to connect! Our home is located in a private, quiet country setting. We have a fenced in yard for pups to play in. We have a dog ourselves who enjoys time with other pups and we also have an outdoor cat. Happy to take dogs on walks, run around in the fenced area, play fetch. etc. And, if cuddling is their thing, then I'll be curled up right beside them. Snugs = the best.
“Lilly and her family were just what my 2 pups needed for our 2 day trip. She was respectful of our requests (no pups on furniture), and offered the right amount and frequency of communication while we were away to assure us our kiddos were behaving, safe, and happy. Her small female dog was also seemingly acclimated to having 'guests'. Would definitely recommend.”

“We left Bella, our 6 month old pit mix with her and she did absolutely amazing! We got daily pics and updates of Bella and she would always text back right away! Bella had so much fun and we will for sure be having Kristy dog-sit next time we go out of town! Thank you Kristy!!”
“Kelley has been absolutely amazing with my dogs! Thank you for all the photos and FaceTimes! Without a doubt, I would use your services again. Thank you for taking such great care of Aubri and Remi! 💛”
