About: I’ve always been an animal lover, from horses to reptiles! I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, and some of the others throughout. We recently lost our dog to cancer at just shy of 13 years old, and I’m currently volunteering as a dog walker at the animal shelter to help fill that void. With the limited hours available there, I thought we could try this avenue as well. I work full time, but my daughter and I would love to find a dog to walk Wednesday through Friday evenings, or weekends! We are available some weekends for dog/cat care while you’re away as well. We love walking dogs, playing fetch, petting them, and providing lots of love. We enjoy playing with cat toys, and giving them plenty of attention as well.

“I am so glad I contacted Melissa to take care of my babies. I needed someone to take care of my two pups for a couple of days and Melissa responded right away to my message. I had an emergency and I had to find a dog sitter at the last minute. One problem I had was that I have a pup that doesn’t get along with any other dog except his sibling. She made it possible to work around my trouble dog and have him stay with her. I was afraid I wasn’t going to find someone to take care of them. Even though I didn’t get to meet her in person I had trust in her to take care of my babies. She sent me pictures and videos of my pups :)! Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mark helped us on short notice and was able to provide us peace and reassurance that our babies were cared for! Mark kept our male and female German Shepherds, and they had an absolute blast. Mark sent us multiple photos and videos and kept us very up-to-date on what they were doing throughout their visit. He asked questions about their personalities and needs that showcased his care and attention to detail. With his knowledge and experience with German Shepherds, it really shined in the care he provided them! About: I have taken care of animals ever since I was younger. I would get paid to walk dogs around my neighborhood and to check on cats. I love hanging out and loving on all animals! About: I grew up on a farm and so I have been taking care of a variety of animals since I was a child. I’ve had many dogs and cats as well as other farm animals so I have a wide range of experiences. I am capable of both infant and senior animal care if needed as well. I am currently a student and working part time but I have lots of time before and after my classes and work to care for animals, I have a car and live close to the town center of Boone. “I had an emergency and needed someone to take my two rough collies on their twice-daily walks. One is a retired service dog who is deaf, and the other is a young collie with epilepsy. Because of their special needs, I was quite anxious about finding the right person. Caitlin was exactly what I needed. She had a calm, reassuring presence and was warm, gentle, and playful with both dogs. She quickly understood their individual needs. By the second day, they were eagerly waiting for her arrival. Luna, the service dog, had never “done her business” on a leash before, but with Caitlin, she had no hesitation. Seeing that I have limited mobility, Catlin asked if there were other things she could do to be helpful.. I admire her initiative and appreciated her help. I will definitely be calling on her again.”

I’ve worked with many pet owners who are apprehensive to leave their pets with anyone due to the pet’s nervous temperaments, and other various quirks, and every single time the animals have surprised their owners by completely settling in with me. I love having pets in my home, and breaking away from my studio to get some fresh air and puppy/kitty love too! If I’m working on a big project, it’s nice to have to flexibility to come and go from my studio when possible, or have your pet there with me- but I have worked out all kinds of house sit/drop in/boarding arrangements according to the needs of clients and their pets. Let’s talk! I live in a peaceful home with a large fenced in backyard, and nice quiet streets to walk with your pet as needed. I will follow whatever routines you generally stick to and prefer when working with your animals. About: I have had and loved animals for all of my life. I own two dogs, a cat, and a few chickens. I also work as a dog groomer and sometimes at a dog boarding place. I am currently working part time three days a week so I have a lot of time to take your pets on a walk or check in on them! About: Retired from workforce, former military, active person, daily walks with our dogs—neighborhood, parks, trails. Worked with certified dog trainer for our two dogs. Time on my hands. About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life since I was a toddler. I have fostered, pet sat for friends and family many times and recently lost my own dog of 13 years. “I am so glad I contacted Melissa to take care of my babies. I needed someone to take care of my two pups for a couple of days and Melissa responded right away to my message. I had an emergency and I had to find a dog sitter at the last minute. One problem I had was that I have a pup that doesn’t get along with any other dog except his sibling. She made it possible to work around my trouble dog and have him stay with her. I was afraid I wasn’t going to find someone to take care of them. About: I have taken care of animals ever since I was younger. I would get paid to walk dogs around my neighborhood and to check on cats. I love hanging out and loving on all animals! Being in college, it makes it hard to have one of my own, but this will allow me to opportunity to be around all the animals that I love! I treat and love your pets as if they are my own!
