My dog is old, blind and deaf, so I do worry when I go on vacation. If I am not near, he gets very anxious. And it is hard for him to navigate a new place. But after our meet and greet, my own anxiety began to leave. Rachel and Donald sent more than one daily update with pictures. For once, I was not in a hurry to get back home! When I picked him up, he acted like he would have been fine to stay longer. I could tell they loved on and cared for my dog as well as I do. About: I have had, rescued, and taken care of a wide variety of dogs from smaller malti-poos to a Dane who had been living on the street, was skin and bones, and ended up 188 lbs. Currently I have Pippa, a 7-year-old Labrador who is allergic to chicken, so I make part of her food. I am home most of the time, except when I host overly-complex board games at the Hickory Library or the Highland Rec Center -- and those sessions are at most 3 hours long. I am home most days, except when I am hosting 3-hour board games at the local library and rec center. Otherwise, I take care of our house and rental properties. I have a large fenced yard -- especially-so since my house sits along North Center Street. I also use carabiners to make sure that gates are locked.

About: I have nearly 10 years of experience with dogs. For the last 4 years I have been running my own business where I breed health tested and titled AKC Labrador Retrievers. All of my dogs live in my home. They are our “kids” and our entire world revolves around them. Prior to this I managed 2 different boarding/daycare/training facilities, one in Wilmington NC and one in Catawba NC. Due to this experience, I have learned so much about dog behavior, training, proper structure within a household and/or pack of dogs, etc. I take pride in how well behaved my own dogs are as well as how they are able to co-exist with all dogs. My entire life revolves around my dogs and any dogs that stay with us. I am home 24/7 with the occasional hour or two of running errands so you wouldn’t have to worry about your pup(s) being left for hours on end. I always make sure your dog(s) energy/training needs are met - mentally and physically. I also (as long as approved by the you/the owner) am happy to allow play time with our dogs under my supervision! We do require your dog(s) to be up to date on parvo and rabies vaccines or titer testing. We thoroughly clean crates/floors/toys every day to ensure we are keeping a sanitary and sickness free environment.

Kassie took Buddy for great walks, provided a great indoor environment, but he got close to the road when we left. That was on me as I didn’t have him leashed up. If Kassie ever gets a fence in the equation, it would be a “6l” on a scale to 5. Definitely will ask Kassie to Buddy watch again.”

I work hybrid so I have a lot of free time to care for my own pets these days, as well as for others pets. I have very friendly dogs that could play with your fur baby! I love to play with frisbees or various rope toys. I have water bowls, leashes, everything a pet may need.
About: I've trained my own dogs from the puppy stage and taken care of them in the senior stage. I love all of it. About: My mom got me my first dog when I was 10 years old, and it was from then on that I promised to take care of him the best way I knew how. I have experience administering medication (in pill form, liquid, and gel) to both dogs and cats, even when they don’t want to take it. I have also personally trained my dog to sit, lie down, high five, and on accident, I taught him to get up on his hind legs and beg with his front paws. If there is any special care that your animal needs, I would be more than happy to quickly and efficiently learn and adapt to care for your animal the way they deserve. I am currently job searching, so I will be free almost every weekday with exception for surprise obligations that my family often come to me with. I am not available on the weekends, including friday for various extraneous responsibilities. When I first meet an animal, I get down to their level and extend my hand just enough to offer it as an option for them to investigate, but not enough to shove it it their face. I wait until the dog or cat engages with me before I try to pet them on my own to ensure that they feel comfortable and safe. If your animal has separation anxiety, I would be more than happy to comfort them with calming words and gentle hands for pets and snuggles. I will only feed or give your animal a treat if I am told to do so or given the okay beforehand as I do not want to over feed them or give them a treat you have bought without consent.

About: I’m a dog owner of a 4-year-old German Shepherd with epilepsy and an 8-year-old Beagle. Caring for my Shepherd has given me hands-on experience administering medication on a consistent schedule, monitoring for seizures and staying calm and responsive if one occurs. If your dog is crate trained I have space for that based on their needs. My two dogs are dog friendly but I always want to do a meet and greet first. About: Ever since I can remember we’ve had a fur friend in the house! My family and I at one point in time fostered fur friends until they could go to their forever home! I have been around and taken care of all kinds of dogs from pit bulls -chihuahuas! I am working part time right now and going to college online to be a speech and language pathologist! The times I work do vary between morning shifts and closing shifts! I want my fur friends and family to feel as safe and cared for as I do in any environment! About: I've taken care of my own two chihuahua for over 10 years. Always made sure they fed well and treated right. We enjoy time walking around parks and town. I'm part time in college student and employed and I have plenty of time in my hand. What do i enjoy doing in my spare time more than a nice walking during my fav season Fall with the windy breeze on a sunny day. I make sure dogs don't get into fights or start barking at other pets near them by picking them up or going a different direction.
