My first job was at a dog boarding facility where I prepared food and medications, cleaned kennels, bathed and groomed dogs, and took them on walks. I’ve also pet-sat for family friends for weeks at a time, caring for a variety of animals—including a pig once! During the last five months of her life, I gave her medication in both liquid and pill form, sometimes on my own and sometimes with my husband.
