Personalized care for your dog or cat - Altus

Highly-rated overnight sitters - Altus
“Mason literally was a like saver. We were visiting from New Orleans for a wedding in Oxford. The hotel was pet friendly but we realized quickly that our newest puppy ( who we had never traveled with) was a howler when left in the hotel room. Last minute we reached out to Mason who agreed to watch both our pups at the last minute. She was extremely accommodating and sent pictures and text messages to us the entire duration of their stay! I would 100% use Mason again.”
“I was very anxious about leaving my 2 dogs with anyone I didn’t know. We have 2 Rottweilers and they have never stayed anywhere overnight before. When I contacted Morgan she responded immediately. Then agreed to meet us to be sure it would be a good fit before dropping them off. Once we met her she answered all of our questions and was extremely accommodating! Deacon and Diamond seemed to love her dog Pete and it would only be the three of them until we picked them up. Morgan let them sleep in the floor of her bedroom and sent pictures throughout their stay. I was definitely more relaxed knowing they were doing ok! I would definitely recommend Morgan as a sitter!”

“Elle was amazing with my puppy! Ella had such a great time. She kept me updated with pictures throughout the day, and her communication was top-notch. I’m definitely looking forward to using Elle again in the future!”

“Cayley was so amazing!! She took amazing care of my dog and sent pictures and updates!! I will definitely be consistently using her again to watch my dog!! Her communication was awesome and was very helpful and quick to respond!!”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I've been pet sitting since I was a freshman in high school. Over the years, I've cared for pets with a wide range of personalities, needs, and routines. I genuinely love spending time with animals and strive to provide dependable, attentive care that helps pets feel comfortable and gives owners peace of mind. Whether it's playtime, walks, feeding, or simply providing companionship, I'll treat your pets with the same love and care I would give my own. I am currently available seven days a week and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide reliable, attentive care for your pets at all times! I live in a spacious condo in The Reserve in Oxford, which provides plenty of room for pets to feel comfortable and at home. While my backyard is not fenced, it offers a large open area for supervised outdoor time, and I currently have no immediate neighbors, creating a quiet environment for pets to enjoy. Inside, there is ample space for dogs and cats to relax, play, and move around freely based on their individual personalities and comfort levels. I also have experience caring for pets in my home, including housing and caring for one of my roommate's dogs for an extended period this past May. Whether your pet enjoys being active outdoors, playing inside, or simply relaxing in a calm environment, I am committed to providing a safe, attentive, and loving experience that helps them feel comfortable while you're away.
“Anna was a great pet sitter. Our puppy was only a few months old and she was was able to handle all of the challenges a puppy brings. She was great at keeping us updated with what Daisy was up to daily while we were on vacation! I would highly recommend her as a pet sitter and will be using her in the future as well!”

“I loved booking my dogs' stay with Jennifer. She was very responsive from the minute I contacted her and she was so nice! My sister dropped them off and picked them up (I only booked it) and she is VERY particular about leaving our dogs anywhere but she was so at ease after dropping them off because how Jennifer made us feel as this was our first Rover booking. When my sister picked them up, she was happy and kept telling me how much fun our dogs had! Jennifer was GREAT!”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was a little girl. I love all kinds of animals but especially dogs. I promise to do nothing but the best for your sweet baby. I work part-time at a doggie grooming salon and get to have more experience with animals every day. Animals are my passion and I plan to do this for the rest of my life. I have a small dog in my home with a small crate. At the clients home I would keep eyes on the baby at all times.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 12! I have a 15 year old miniature schnauzer as well! I am very loving when it comes to animals and take care of them with my whole being! I just recently graduated from Auburn and I am job searching as of right now! I am working part time usually on the weekends and I am about to start another job working part time as well. As of right now I am able to care for animals anytime I am not at work! I have always house sat for family’s growing up! Keeping a clean house along with caring for someone else’s animal is a huge priority for me. I love playing with dogs so if I am watching your pet, I am most likely playing with him/her! I usually like to eat when the dog eats, weird I know, but I do it with my dog back home and he loves it!
“Carsen was amazing! She was the sweetest and treated my boy like her own. She sent pics and updates. I could tell he was very happy with her while he was there and when I picked him up! Highly recommend.”

“Jake was prompt and responsive when we were in a pickle and had to find quick care for our dog once our travel got delayed. He picked her up and kept us informed on how she was doing. Thank you Jake!”

“Leila is a great pet sitter! She is so good with dogs and really goes out of her way to make sure the dog is comfortable and feels secure. She is very good about sending pics and videos. I highly recommend Leila”

“Stuart and Victoria were awesome! I had never met them and needed to leave my 10-year-old Doodle for a week during Christmas holidays. He got to be their inside pet the whole time and their family loved on him like he was their own. They sent pictures and were very responsive to chat and be flexible. Your pet can also roam their land and get plenty of exercise. I would highly recommend!”

“Being the 1st time in 12 years I had to find someone to care for our 12 yr old who is diabetic and blind. Finding Graham was a blessing. I was gone 5 days and received pictures and updates a couple of times daily. I could not have asked for any better, thank you Graham for what you do…”

“Amanda was great. She responded quickly to my last-minute appeal for help, and she did exactly what I asked her to do during the week I was away from my home. I got great service from a responsible and professional young person who charged very reasonable rates. i highly recommend her!”

About: When I came to college, I adopted a cat and later rescued another kitten I found in a car, so now I have two kitties of my own! I’m very comfortable caring for both cats and dogs and understand how important pets are to their families.

About: I have extensive experience caring for cats through both pet sitting and animal welfare work. Over the years, I have cat sat for numerous families, caring for cats with a variety of personalities, routines, and needs. In addition, I spent several years working in the cat room at a local animal shelter, where I helped care for cats of all ages, temperaments, and backgrounds. This experience taught me how to read feline body language, build trust with shy or nervous cats, and provide proper daily care, enrichment, and affection. Whether your cat is social and playful or prefers quiet companionship, I understand that every cat is unique and will make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: Since high school, I have been trusted to care for a family friend's two cats whenever they were away. Because the cats had very different personalities, I learned how to tailor my care to each pet's unique needs whether that meant engaging in play and interaction or giving them the space and patience they preferred. This experience strengthened my love for caring for animals and taught me the importance of providing dependable, compassionate care that helps both pets and owners feel at ease.

About: I live for the mews and meows and maows. I taken house-sitting request for few cat families while they are on trips out of town. With each family I have sat for, I have gotten experience for different cat personalities from the frisky cuddles to hyperactive hunters to the prefers to hide. I’m confident that I can give you satisfaction knowing that your cat is safe, loved, and stimulated. I have three cats of my own and learned how to pick up on subtle behavior like illness or pain that cats tend to hide. One of the stand out skills I have acquired is bottle feeding kittens through my work with local shelters.
“Jennifer was fantastic! We had never used a pet sitter before, and we really lucked out. She was very communicative and sent lots of updates, including photos and video. She obviously really likes animals, and what’s more, our cat, who’s usually shy and hides from strangers, really liked her! He came out and even played some. We won’t hesitate to book again instead of boarding. Highly recommended!”

Perfect for high energy dogs - Altus
“Mason is super sweet, caring and an amazing dog caretaker When we visit Oxford we let her watch our 12 year Lucy during the day while we are busy at events. She is very responsive and always sends us some cute pics of our old lady.”

“Jenna is very sweet and made our anxious little dog feel right at home. We especially appreciate that she was able to accommodate us on short notice as we were in town for one day. We didn't worry a bit about him being in her hands while we attended an event. Great communication and photos. Highly recommend!”
“I reached out to Graham pretty last minute to board my dog during a 5 day trip, and was so pleased. Great communication, and Graham and his wife took great care of my dog and sent daily picture updates. I was also glad that their sweet dog Toby was there to be a playmate. They had clearly bonded by the time I came to pick Bernie up. I would highly recommend Graham for animal care!”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve grown up caring for 5 dogs, a cat, a tortoise, and plenty of other pets over the years, so being around animals feels very natural to me. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I always try to make them feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. I’ve helped take care of pets for friends, family, and neighbors by feeding them, walking them, playing with them, and giving them lots of attention. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, young, or older, I’m patient, dependable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I’m currently in class Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9am–12pm, and I work Friday and Saturday nights, but outside of those times I have a very flexible schedule. I’m available most afternoons, evenings, and weekends, and I’m happy to work with your pet’s routine and needs. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, whether that’s going on walks, playing with them, or just giving them company and attention while you’re away. I always try to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in any environment. At our house during college, we’ve had 3 cats, so I’m very used to caring for animals daily and understanding different personalities and routines. I’ve also helped take care of foster dogs from the animal shelter, which taught me patience and how to work with pets that may be nervous or need extra attention. I’ll always treat your pets like they’re my own and make sure they get lots of love, attention, and proper care.

About: I’ve been caring for pets for over 6 years and have looked after dogs and cats of all ages and sizes. I’m comfortable with puppy training, giving medication, and making sure senior pets feel comfortable. Friends, neighbors, and family always trust me to feed, walk, play with, and love their pets like they’re my own. My goal is to keep every pet happy, safe, and well cared for. Pet care is a regular part of my daily and weekly life. I plan my schedule around walks, feeding times, and play sessions to make sure each pet gets the time, attention, and care they deserve. Whether I’m doing drop-ins or overnights, I treat it like a priority—not a side job. In a client’s home, I stick to the pet’s usual routine to keep them comfortable—feeding, walking, and playing just like their owner would. I keep the space clean, follow any special instructions, and give plenty of attention. If I’m caring for a pet in my home, I make sure they have a quiet, safe space with lots of love and supervision.

I have a small yard for quick potty breaks and always make sure pups are safe, leashed, and cared for like my own.

About: I love all dogs!! I am a college student who misses her pups and would love to meet yours! I have grown up with dogs and have dog-sat for all dog types and ages! I have two 14-year-old Dachshunds and two 2-year-old Dachshunds that live at home too far away! With this experience, I have been able to learn how to care for my older pups while training my younger ones (even though they turn their ears off sometimes). I miss my dogs so much and will care for your dogs as my own! I am working part-time at a boutique and only work a couple of days a week! I am a graduate student working on my thesis, but I have no classes, so I am free when I am not at work; however, I do have lunch breaks at work! I absolutely love dogs, but unfortunately, I cannot have dogs where I live. I have 2 dogs back home, but since I am in college, I rarely get to see them. I will love and treat your pet as I do my own. With tons of love, pets, and of course, belly rubs (if sniff test approved).
About: Hi, my name is Lindsey, and I can't wait to meet your pet! I've been around animals my entire life, from cats to dogs, and have provided excellent care to captive animals such as wolves, bobcats, and more. I have about two years of professional dog grooming experience. I have degrees in environmental science, and am currently a postdoc researcher at the University of Mississippi. I took a break from doing Rover during graduate school, so my profile has been largely inactive since ~2019, but now that I have a normal schedule again, I'm back at it! My work schedule is generally flexible, so I can work around it to fit the best possible care for your pet. There is a dog park at my apartment I love to use, and the rail trail here in Oxford backs right up to my complex making longer walks convenient. I know I want the absolute best care for my own dog, so I promise the best care for your pets as long as they are with me! My work schedule is generally 8:30 - 4:30, with at least one remote workday per week. Usually, I have one day per week that I do field work, which makes for a longer workday, but I always know in advance so I can plan accordingly. On a typical day, I walk my own dog from 7:00-7:30am, come home for a walk at lunch around 12:00pm, and do a longer walk around 5:00pm with a short bedtime potty break around 9:00pm (sometimes earlier or later depending on how late we're up!) As Aldo has gotten older, he generally prefers shorter walks/hikes, but I am always flexible to make the length and difficulty of walks match your pets' needs. Aldo is crate-trained, and I still have a spare large crate to use if needed. Safety is my biggest concern, especially because he will get into any crumbs or trash can if given the opportunity. I have a security cam set up in my home that I check remotely to make sure pets are doing well throughout the day. I do not have multiple pets out in the living areas together when unsupervised, unless they're very familiar with one another.
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life — from playful puppies and kittens to senior pets — and caring for them has always been second nature to me. I have hands-on experience with both dogs and cats, including training energetic puppies, providing gentle care for older pets, and everything in between. I love staying active, so you can count on plenty of walks, park adventures, and playtime to keep your furry friend happy and healthy. Beyond that, I pride myself on being attentive, reliable, and treating every pet as if they were my own. Whether it’s keeping up with a high-energy pup or offering comfort and routine to a senior companion, I make sure every pet feels loved, safe, and at ease while you’re away. Caring for pets is such a natural part of my day — I honestly can’t imagine life without it! I’m a student, and my classes are only on Thesdays and Thursdays from 9-10:15 AM and 4-5:15 PM, which leaves me plenty of time to focus on spending quality time with your pets the rest of the week. I offer boarding during both weekdays and weekends, so your up or kitty will always have company and care while you’re away. I love starting the day with morning walks or park trips to get some energy out, and in the evenings we wind down with another walk, some playtime, or extra cuddles. I’m also happy to stop by your home for drop-in visits — whether that’s feeding your cat, letting your dog out for a potty break, or giving them some attention while you’re busy. I really do treat every pet like they’re my own — making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re gone. When pets stay with me, they become part of the household! I live in a cozy house with two friendly roommates — and we don’t have any pets of our own, so your furry friend gets all the love and attention they deserve. I have a big yard that’s perfect for stretching legs and sniffing around; while it’s intended, I always use a leash to make sure every outing is safe and secure. Inside, pets have plenty of space to relax, play, and feel right at home. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I’ll make sure their usual routine stays consistent. I can handle feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, potty breaks, giving medicine, and of course, plenty of affection. I know every pet has their own personality and preferences, so I always take the time to learn what makes them happiest and most comfortable. Whether it’s belly rubs, fetch in the yard, or quiet snuggles on the couch, I’ll make sure your pet feels loved and cared for wherever they are. ❤️

My schedule is very flexible, and can accommodate random drop-ins if need be, but I am also available for regularly scheduled visits! Your animals safety comes first, and will always be prioritized! I would love to take your furry friend on their favorite walking path, or to their favorite dog park, or keep them entertained away from other animals if necessary!
“Jennifer's experience with younger and larger dogs was clear at her meet 'n greet with Xena. This was Xena's first experience having anyone besides us come into our home to take her outside. She clearly had a good time! Jennifer gave us all a wonderful step toward a confident, competent, neighborly dog. We will definitely use her again!”

My three dogs I had since they were puppies till they were seniors one was 21 years old. One was 11 and one was 16 when they passed. Now I have two pit terriers that I have had for three years now. I grew up, always taking care of them. And taking care of my friends and neighbors dogs all throughout the years if they went out of town on a vacation or if they were just gone for the weekend I would visit and take care of them for the time being. I have taken care of a bunch of cats as well, because my friends and family have many. I have a lot of experience with taking dogs on walks especially big dogs. My three dogs were almost all 70 to 80 pounds and I would take all three of them on walks at the same time. I really enjoy being around animals and being able to take care of them. As of right now I am not working so my schedule is very flexible and I can accommodate almost every day of the week. Time or day that you need depending on your schedule, just let me know and we can definitely work something out. Right now I do live at an apartment which does not allow animals. So the space is not animal friendly at the moment. But I am working on finding a more friendly space.

About: I’ve had dogs since I was little — both big and small breeds. Caring for pets has always been second nature to me, and I make sure every dog feels loved, safe, and happy. From daily walks to playtime and snuggles, I treat every pup like part of the family I have class Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 11-12:15 but I’m free most other times for walks, drop-ins, or playtime! I’m super flexible with afternoons, evenings, and usually weekends. I don’t have a fenced yard, but I make up for it with plenty of walks and outdoor playtime. I have a small yard for quick potty breaks and always make sure pups are safe, leashed, and cared for like my own.

Over the years, I've cared for pets with a wide range of personalities, needs, and routines. I genuinely love spending time with animals and strive to provide dependable, attentive care that helps pets feel comfortable and gives owners peace of mind.

“Carsen was amazing! She was the sweetest and treated my boy like her own. She sent pics and updates. I could tell he was very happy with her while he was there and when I picked him up! Highly recommend.”
