About: I’m recently retired and have had dogs all my life, since being 7 years old. I had to put my last fur baby to sleep in January 2026 and will be traveling over the next few years so don’t want to get another right now, and really miss having a doggo around! I used Rover quite a bit when I had dogs so would love to pay it forward and help someone else. Plus then I hopefully will get my fix of dogs! I’m currently very flexible, having just retired. I usually walk first thing in the morning and then after dinner with our British lab, Lilly. Live in Madison Lake but willing to drive to Mankato or St. Peter, for pet sitting or dog walking. We have a small British lab but she is not in the house much; she is a sweet, lover dog that prefers to hang outside in her luxury kennel outside. About: I currently have the privilege of sharing my home with two cats: Phoenix, my 12-year-old senior queen, and Maize, my energetic 10-week-old kitten. I believe cats thrive when they have a safe, enriching environment that respects their individual personalities, so I've created spaces throughout my home with climbing opportunities, cozy hiding spots, window perches, and separate feeding areas to help them feel comfortable and secure. Phoenix is happiest when we are quietly existing next to each other. Phoenix has taught me the importance of patience, consistency and quality time in the trust building process. Like a lot of us, I didn't have background of the 10 years of life she had before coming to our home. Seeing her open up, create snuggle routines, engage in our daily conversations over wet food preparation, pay the cheese tax whenever she hears the bag, take belly up naps in the sun and slow blink back and forth while snuggling has been the most warm, authentic experience I have gotten to experience. She's my little soul cat. Caring for Maize is a little more hands-on. Before each meal, we have a short play session to satisfy his hunting instincts, followed by mealtime and either more play or quiet time depending on his energy level. Maize has been in new experience in caring for a kitten so young. We found Maize after he came running out of a corn field wide eyed and fill of cockleburs. It was never a question in my mind as to whether he would be the next member of our family, and now we are the proud parents of a 10-week-old, black kitten. It has been a completely new experience, but so incredibly rewarding. He has come from hiding behind the toilet and hissing at any movement, to demanding face to face nudges and kisses several times a day. It has been so fun to get to know this small, new little life that will create so many amazing memories for our family for years to come! Now, the admin side of kitten care has involved scooping litter boxes multiple times a day, keeping his space clean, and creating a schedule of healthy amounts of play and rest. I also regularly care for my friend’s cat, Remi. When her family is away, I visit several times throughout the day to make sure she's well cared for and has company. I love hiding her food around the house to provide her a little extra enrichment and always offer as many pets as she'll allow before she lets me know she's reached her limit and gets a little spicy. Every cat is different, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each one's unique personality while respecting boundaries.

About: I recently transitioned from my role as an outpatient therapist to explore roles that allow me to be more emotionally and physically present in my own life. Throughout my career, I've been known for my warmth, patience, reliability, and ability to build trust. These qualities that naturally extend to the way I care for animals. Caring for them is one of the greatest joys in my life. Each of my pets have aspects of our home set up to meet their individual needs, whether that is areas to climb, separate spaces for their food/water, windows to see the world through and full access to all the cozy spots. I love taking slow walks with Gibson, and allow him time to sniff and snoof whatever he pleases along the way. However, the weather in Minnesota is not always friendly for walks during the day. On these days I will often create enrichment activities for Gibson such as peanut butter/water "pupsicles", hiding kibble around the living room for him to sniff and find, peanut butter bones (when we are at a happy weight) and just overall pets and snuggles. As for my cats - Phoenix enjoys quality time most of all - so I try to carve out special time for us to exist in the same space, with pets as she pleases. She also enjoys playing with her wand toys, catnip in her cat tree or snoozing in one of her many enclosed beds or window hammocks. My 10-week-old kitten's (Maize) care involves more consistent responsibilities throughout the day/week. I play with him for a short time before his meals, feed him, offer some alone time or more play (depending on his energy level) and typically put him in his safe room for some time after this to rest. I repeat this three times a day, with the night play session being longer and more energized. I scoop the litter box morning, afternoon and evening. There are many days I have to clean his bottom, paws or space due to a poop fiasco - I have gotten good at making this quick and painless. I also spend a lot of my time redirecting and teaching the lesson "Fingers are not toys" (if you've had/have a kitten you understand). Overall, I do my best to create a safe, healthy and predictable environment for my little housemates!
About: I have several years of experience from taking care of my own pets as well as other's. I previously owned a cat with a medical condition, so I have medication experience and emergency experience. I have a cat of my own and she gets baths, so you know I am not afraid of a pet being a bit of a handful. But, I added an optional bathing/nail trimming fee of $10, because cat claws are a work hazard. Brushing I am happy to do, every time for free. I have a part time evening job, so I am home most of the day until 4pm - 8pm. I don't go out much, so while in my home, your pet would have constant attention and supervision. My home has two bedrooms, and I converted my second bedroom into a pet room. It provides plenty of space for cats to hang out, including blankets, toys, and a big window to sit in and watch the birds. The bedroom is sectioned off by a gate, but my whole home is open to your pet if they choose to come out. The gate is only there for your pet's privacy, as we have a tortie cat and a corgi dog of our own. They are both very sweet and get along well with cats. We also provide litter box (not litter), food dishes (not food), and toys. But, always feel free to bring your own. And, never hesitate to ask questions!

I usually walk first thing in the morning and then after dinner with our British lab, Lilly. Live in Madison Lake but willing to drive to Mankato or St. Peter, for pet sitting or dog walking. We have a great home for dogs, so am happy to do pet sitting in our home too. We have a small British lab but she is not in the house much; she is a sweet, lover dog that prefers to hang outside in her luxury kennel outside. We walk her twice daily, and she gets along with all dogs we meet.
About: Hi! My name is Sage and I specialize in animal caretaking and welfare. I have lived my entire life with at least one animal in the house and I have been dog sitting on and off since high school. I am certified in three years of dog training and currently live with my lovely cat, London. I’ve never met a pet that I haven’t loved, and past employers would describe me as dependable, easy-going, and kind. Now that I am starting school again, my hours of availability have become a bit slim. However, my weekends are entirely open, and I have enough time between classes to provide service to any animal who needs my attention. In my home, I live with my cat London, and four other housemates. If your animal stayed with me, they would never feel alone and would always have somebody in the house that can watch them or be there for all their needs. We have a lovely backyard full of grass, a back deck for lounging and sunbathing and a large neighborhood for daily walks. Your pet would feel like a king or queen in a castle! :)
