“Our dog Angel just spent a night with Doug at his home. Angel is a rescue and is very timid and in most cases afraid of people in general. Her visit with Doug was wonderful. She warmed up to him and had no issues while in his care. Doug is VERY knowledgeable about animals and his love for them shines through. I'm so happy to have found this awesome place for our dogs to stay in the future. SO much better than leaving your dog in a kennel where human contact is minimal. 5 stars to Doug! ! ! ! ! About: I have a 15 year old male Shi-tzu that I take hiking and camping. I also have a 2 year old male cat, indoor/outdoor, and I'm caring for a 10yo male cat and 6yo female cat for some friends while they search for a home. They all get along well together but can be kept separate from your pet. I've had pets my whole life. As an adult I've cared for roommates pets, checked on pets for friends and family when they've been out of town, and I've fostered cats. I've had interactions with a wide variety of dog breeds so I'm willing to work with any breeds and ages as long as they're ok with other animals. I work from home, self-employed, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I do have regular health care appointments every week, which takes me away for an hour or so, and have at home visits twice a week, but none of that should interfere. I'm in two choirs, so I'm away Tuesday and Thursday evenings for a few hours. So I am at my house the majority of the time. I live in the country in a trailer home (single size). I'm surrounded by woods but I have an ATV trail in front of my house and no fence. I would need a tether of some sort for dogs and have tethered and leash walked cats. I do have tethers and leashes for small dogs or cats. I don't use a kennel for my dog so I don't have any at my house, but am fine with using your dogs kennel in my house. I am able to separate my pets from your pets in my house, if there are any issues.

About: I've been taking care of pets for over 10 years. My own pets have been cats, dogs, rabbits, mice, horses, and most recently rabbits. Through these various pets I've learned to work through potty training issues, giving medications, getting older pets out and about for walks, and much more. I've also helped friends and family with their various pets. I have walked and taken care of dogs of all sizes and personalities, bathed cats that hated it with every fiber of their being, and even taken on the daunting tasks of brushing dogs teeth and clipping nails. Every pet family I work with is different and I enjoy working to find the what works for them. I currently have a hybrid schedule that often has me working from wherever I can set my laptop down.So whether your dog needs a quick walk or you need house-sitting for a week I can make it happen. She took extra time with my youngest, feral born cat that was hiding during her visits. I came home to clean litter boxes and fed cats. I just moved here from Idaho and when I tried to get a booking on Rover my information indicated that I wasn't living in Michigan. Because of that 2 other sitters declined my request. Stephanie messaged me regarding the discrepancy and once that wrong information (totally a mistake made by the Rover site) was resolved, she accepted my request.”

Philo had a two week daily stay with Doug, he immediately connected with Doug and his dog Nico. Over the course of two weeks he found a great buddy with Nico and actually got excited to go see him in the morning. Doug is a very gentle, caring and knowledgeable pet lover/sitter who put our worries to rest with the very first visit. He provides not only the expected care but helped accommodate several other needs that we felt were above and beyond, he made a trip to store for food as well as ran Philo to a vet appointment. About: I grew up with a beagle as a kid and he was loved up until the very end. I now have a beagle and lab. After undergrad, I began overnight sitting in my home for family friends. I have experience with small, medium, and large dog breeds including those with medical needs. I’ve had overnight stays up to 2 weeks and one experience of deskunking! 😅 I’m happy to walk, feed, play, and watch all dogs. I’m available during the week early mornings, lunch time potty breaks, and after work on days I’m out of the home. Otherwise, I’m available more frequently on days I work from home. I am not accepting overnight pets in the home as I rent my current space and we have our two dogs on the lease only. I am happy to watch in client home, walk, or stay at your place!

About: I am a lifelong dog owner with my current pets being two high-energy border collies. I have over two years of experience as a house/dog/cat sitter with 5+ families who have trusted me to watch over and care for their pets and houses for extended periods of time. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels. I am moving to Montana in early July but until then, my schedule is open most days! I am able to take jobs in the morning, afternoon, and evening. There are occasional variations in my schedule that may not show on my calendar. I will treat your pets as if they are my own.
